Having a problem with my Volt batts. Seems from what I've read, most people are getting 3 to 4 hours out of a 78mm. I'm getting maybe 2 hours at the most. A 65mm is giving me about 1 hour. Been using the charger from my Echo pv, which appears to be working correctly ... takes about 3 hours to charge until the led extinguishes. Anyone think the charger is the culprit? Maybe it's cutting off before full charge? If that's the case, would the batt's led extinguish without a full charge?

Would guess an average of 15 puffs/minute (tend to double puff, which would make it more like 30/min). Use 3 to 4 ml/day.

PS: On 2nd thought, the puffs/min are probably not realistic. The ml/day is probably a better indicator, since I don't chain vape.

Gosh, I was away from the computer all day yesterday and now it's a nightmare trying to catch up with the SI thread. There's probably 50 messages I want to comment on but I'll just choose a few:

It's that Echo charger most likely because I think it's the same as the Ego charger. And if so, I experimented using my Ego charger and it would not charge the Volt batteries up fully. Look at its fine print on it, does it output a real USB's charging voltage of 5V? If not, that's the problem. Get a good charger, like from SI.

....

And I have another couple of questions . . . I tried to look for this answer to no avail and can't find it anywhere . . . Does it matter if you leave the battery/ies connected to the PCC or should they be disconnected? Will leaving them connected harm the PCC? And I don't know if anyone would know this yet - However, I do know I have no problem having an "e-Cig" in my carry-on bags - but what about a PCC?

You can leave the batteries connected to the PCC without hurting anything. Once the LED at the end of the battery goes out, no more current is traveling in either direction.

Well, I'm waiting to see if SteelJan's results match up. The last time I brought up what I thought was a technical observation her results had me buying a new set of meter probes. :)

LOL!!! Yes, your observations of the mega-PCC are pretty much the same as mine. But you concluded that its shortcomings are good enough for you. Eh, I want a charger to fully charge my batteries because I am not happy when I've packed my guesstimated necessities and they don't perform to my expectations. The mega-PCC does not deserve a Volt logo IMHO. :2cool: BTW, love the Cartomizer Fillanator!! Thanks!

Hmm...

I got the new mega PCC and I am not sure what to think so far. I placed a dead 65mm battery in it last night before I went to bed (with the PCC plugged into my laptop to charge as well) and let it do its thing all night. When I woke up, the light on the battery and the charging light was off, but just for good measure I took the battery and put it in the regular PCC to see if it was charged. Nope! It charged for almost a half hour in the reg PCC before the light shut off. Hmm...

Anyone else have this problem with the new mega PCC's? Also, someone please tell me, when the mega PCC is charging how do you know when it is fully charged? Lol! I noticed that two blue lights have stayed on almost exclusively with the third blue light blinking. When it is dead, will the two blue lights not light up? Confused haha.

The mega-PCC is fully charged when all 4 blue LED's are lit and on a true 5V USB port used for charging, it takes 5-6 hours to fully charge it. Funny thing though, when the mega-PCC won't charge my Volt batteries to any acceptable level anymore, which is typically after charging one 65mm shorty battery, it still shows 2 blue LEDs. I agree with Vapian that the mega-PCC just does not put out enough charging current, even when fully charged.

I haven't done the experiment where I stick my batts in a USB charger after I charge them using the mega pcc yet, but I'll give it a shot. I will say that the two batts I have charged in the mega PCC work perfectly fine and so far have certainly given me what seems to be totally normal usage times. I have to say though that I'm the kind of person that sticks my batts back in the charger before they're completely dead and switches to a new batt just because I think all vaping batts perform better the sooner they were charged. And with the PCC or mega PCC why not throw them in before they're dead?

Birdbrain, absolutely LOVED your video. Right on man! However, back on topic, I tried putting in a 78mm battery after I'd vaped it only about an hour and still the mega-pcc did not fully charge it. So at least in my experience, the mega-PCC is not good for even topping off 78mm batteries.

Also, someone asked if you can recharge the mega-PCC with a car cigarette lighter adaptor. Yes you can, as long as it's putting out the standard USB which is 5V and at least 500ma.

Love this thread. The Volt is the way to go. Vape it til ya make it!!!!!!!!

Ok, I don't even know whether to try to back-read this thread and catch up, but I don't think I will. Hi and welcome to all new thread subscribers!

I got home yesterday and left my family to unpack the car while I ran to the mailbox; here is what was waiting for me:

50 new blank Volt cartos
1 new red Volt battery
10 new colored Volt endcaps
4 new flavors from KBV

I am in vaping heaven.

Checked it and it's 5V and 500ma. It does look exactly like the SI picture of their charger.

w00t! Video props from Steeljan on a Volt video is like Spielberg saying he liked your movie :)

So just to clarify, Steeljan are you thinking that the mega PCC, if ONLY used to charge the smaller 65 batts will get them charged up as much as the slide-PCC? I don't mind that it's a bit slower. Just wondering if in the testing so far it's only shown to have slight issues with the larger 78's.

50 blank Volt cartos is a dream! That reminds me that I definitely need to order some more today before Heatwave goes away.

I am going to chance it and wait to see if there is a code when the 30ml juice and the GREEN batteries, then we await ORANGE batteries, then more color caps:)

We don't ask too much from you do we imagine??

(Couldn't figure out how to do tie die in that hint)!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderous day - the overtime I got last night got used this morning at the doctor's office for and ear infection - argh:facepalm: But at least I had it to use, that's for sure.

Where I usually am
I had 2 dead 78 batts that I put on the mega PCC thats fully charged and plugged in the wall using my apple iphone usb block that puts out 500mah. I pressed the button and 4 1/2 hours latter the batts led's go out. I left both of the batteries in the PCC and pressed on the button again and both batts light up and began to charge again for another hour and 45 minutes. One of the batts finished about 20 minutes before the other. Again I pressed the button and both batts light up. The batt in the last charge that finished first, this time it was a light glow and had gone out within 15 minutes while the other finished in 40 minutes. I had pressed the button one more time and nothing....I assume they are both fully charged at this point and to make sure, I had screwed them into the usb directly and neither of them light up. Just wanted to share that:)

Sorry - you MUST back-read. We had an awful lot of fun!! Welcome home!

I had a package too, and finally got to do this to the two chrome batteries that I was waiting for (a whole two day wait - lol):

Sorry, you'll have to click on it for a close-up. If you decide to skin a battery with automotive vinyl I recommend that you only do it on a chrome or a battery stripped of any finish or covering. Otherwise, the added thickness might make it impossible to charge in a PCC or standard charger.

Those look SWEET. Just ordered my first chrome batt (and the 50 blank cartos that was just too hard to pass up, man the price REALLY drops when ordering them in quantity and with the heatwave discount). Might have to look at these vinyl things!

Well, my testing of the mega-PCC charged completely and then disconnected from the charger. screwing in two dead 65mm batteries, only one of them charged completely, the other was not charged completely when that battery's LED went out. Even charging one 65mm battery at a time, only the first one charged completely, subsequent ones did not. But Vapian said he went ahead and vaped those not fully charged batteries and only went dead a few minutes less than fully-charged batteries. When I finish testing it, I might rip out the old battery and see if a higher mAh battery will get it to charge better since DM left his mega-PCC plugged into his Iphone charger and that produced batteries that were fully charged.
