no i mean they stay on indefinitely until i unplug them

I've never had that happen ozpkchris. But I don't have a Mac and have not tried charging a battery via my cigarette lighter plug adapter. Dunno.

Quick update -- I just uploaded my Whoopi video to The View's video mailbag. Woot!

*raises hand to all above mentioned clumsiness. My dd newest fun thing to tell people is not to worry about mama, she drops, trips, runs into things "all the time, she's ok"...hmmm maybe that explains the weird looks?

Jill - WHERE'S KITTY??? I SAW A NEW ONE FOR A MILLISECOND? I do however like pretty new avi.
Bill, I'm w/cindycated...lizard looks like my neighbors...<<<<yes, florida. :p

kitty will return, she is on hiatus in celebration of new ecf veteran deej - I thought I would be supportive and play along as I intend to be a veteran here myself someday!

I don't know how you people live with big lizards and snakes and stuff around, I would be in fear for the cats and dogs all the time..

I cleaned my first batch of cartomizers (the older Menthol flavor from my first order). I used a child's medicine syringe to flush hot water through them several times. I also tried using the syringe to pump air through them to dry them out, but I didn't feel like it was effective so I let them sit batt end up on a paper towel for a day. Since then, I stored them in a small plastic tub with a lid and some old desiccator packets (which may no longer be effective...).

Today I went to use some of them, and out of the 5 cartos 2 had a small orange splotch along the inner rim of the mouth-piece end. I'm assuming this is rust - I can't seem to scrape it off.

Are these cartos ruined? Was there something wrong with my cleaning method?

i have both sizes, autos

I asked because, I noticed that on my 78 ones that they take twice the amount of time (sometimes longer) to charge then my 65.
The batteries led stays on an additional 10min after its charged. The only two times mine have behaved in the way you described is if I pulled them off the charger when they had a full charge but before that 10 min is up.
And the other is when I use them on a old style charging case.

How long is the charge lasting?

Sounds like rust to me. I did that with my first two atties when I first started vaping 'cause I didn't know they had to get bone dry fast or they'd rust. I just cleaned them out again and got all the rust out. It's not a problem here to dry out wet cartos/atties, I just put them out on a tray lined with a dishcloth in the hot Texas sun & bring 'em in before nightfall.

I think some folks put them in a warm oven, but that scares me, think I'll scorch them or something.

I vote for the second one - change is good!

ps I was fooling around with my nook today (the one I dropped in the tub months ago) and it's miraculously returned from the dead! A quick update and my library loaded and I'm back in the game!! Yay for solving problems by totally ignoring them and hoping they will go away!

I thought I was the only goofy person who couldn't stay out of the tub with my e-reader lol! ^This^ makes me happy, especially since it started working again :)

Now I'm scared I'm gonna drop my Volt in there one day. A book and a vape (used to be a cig) in a bubble bath are my heaven on earth. I just ordered some chocolate malt e-liquid to try-all that together at the same time and I may die of sheer happiness.

I clean mine by boiling water and removing it from the heat, then letting them sit in that hot water for about 15 minutes. I blow that water out and then rinse well under hot water from the faucet. Blow that water out again as best I can and then let them drain on a paper towel on a windowsill battery end down until the next day. I don't put caps back on until I use them again. Never had any rust show up, and I'm in south Louisiana where humidity is a big problem and we've had alot of rain lately.

BUT before I clean mine the first time I remove the label. I have no idea if that has an effect, if it would hold moisture to the metal longer somehow.....I just like the way they look bare.

Your problem may be that you enclosed them? If the dessicator packs weren't any good then the moisture wouldn't have been able to evaporate and been trapped in the container.

I'd try rubbing at the rust with a piece of onion (although it will need cleaning again, I can't imagine vaping that flavor lol) or a tiny piece of balled up aluminum foil.

How can anyone enjoy a hot soak in the tub without a PV? It just wouldn't be the same! I have dedicated bathroom PV's (I know that sounds weird) but those for tub lounging have manual batts. There have been times that I've dropped 'em into the water, but they're okay if I scoop 'em up fast. Auto batteries probably wouldn't fare so well.

Hi resnbl. I don't think it's your cleaning method. Most cartos take longer than one day to dry. I used to bake my "other" cartos in the oven on a Pyrex plate at 170° for 40-60 min. with no problem. Then let them sit overnight. I haven't tried it with my Volts.

Anyway, I'd allow at least three days battery side down on a paper towel to air dry cartos. Putting them in sealed container damp probably caused your problem.

So sorry you this happened to you. :(

I've actually dropped my autos, since that's all I use (I ordered a manual that seems to be defective, will have to take that up with CS soon - been putting it off since it causes me anxiety), in the tub one time, and it has held up to perfection. I took the carto off and put it on a paper towel batt-side down right after the event, but I'm vaping it right now without a problem. Probably the exception to the rule, and also a guardian angel on my side, but I thought I'd share anyhow.

Anyway, I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself. Gone through a few providers of various battery types before hitting Volt - and now I'm sold. I'm a voltron - love that name for the volters. Now all of my vaper friends are along for the Volt ride due to their amazing product, support, and prices. And they thank me for the recommendation no less! Now if only they'd quit asking me for recommendations on juices! Blargh! Fun stuff, still.

Anyway! Hello! I love reading this thread - you're all so friendly, funny, and great. I'm thankful for all of the information that I've gleamed off of your collective knowledge. Keep up the great work. As a newbie (vaping for two months, and smokefree since), it's been a great experience.

Love, moi <3

If there is EVER any doubt that chimps run our USPS......

Processed through Sort Facility, July 28, 2011, 12:50 am, WARRENDALE, PA 15086
Accepted at origin sort facility, July 28, 2011, 12:50 am, WARRENDALE, PA 15086
Shipment Accepted, July 27, 2011, 4:01 pm, NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH 44663
Electronic Shipping Info Received, July 27, 2011

Now...I am only 30-45 min north of New Philadelphia!!!:facepalm: Why is it leaving the state to come back here???

EDIT:....I take that back....Chimps are MUCH MUCH more intelligent!!!

Years ago, I remember someone from one of the big shipping companies (was it FedEx?) telling me that everything they get goes through someplace like Tennessee. It sounds crazy, but apparently sending everything to a central location to be sorted, then sending it to the addressee, makes sense. I can't see how that's more efficient, but then, this is the Modern Age, and lots of ways things are done don't make sense to me.

Welcome JeffyD !! So glad you and your friends are enjoying their Volts! If I were you, I wouldn't have any anxiety at all over the return of your manual batt. In fact, chances are when Imagine is done with her meetings she'll read through these posts and advise you on the procedure. I've never encountered a company with Customer Service to equal that of Smokeless Image. Imagine is very, very participative and you'll come to love her as we do.

As far as recommending juices go: SI offers two Sampler packs that have very popular flavors. One thing I really like about SI eliquids are that they don't skimp on the flavor. I heartily recommend the grape, the watermelon, and the RY4. Since I DIY most of my eliquids, it's difficult to convert me to a flavor that I have to buy, but these three have me hooked! :p

Oh - and congrats on your batt surviving the bath. Very nice!
