no i mean they stay on indefinitely until i unplug them
Maybe it also has something to do with "First Class" vs "Priority Mail?"
I just don't think USPS is as reliable as they once were. I have heard too many complain of missing items (one person had a package delivered with nothing but a packing slip)...I have had packages ripped and taped numerous times....oh how my list could go on. They just are not the same as they once wereSounds right to me. I think the horizontal coil crosses over the hole. So if you poke through the hole, you knock the coil right out of place.the "seeing thru it" test is for the older style vertical coil cartomizers. I wouldn't stick something in the battery end of the newer style (volt) horizontal coils.
However, I've been wrong before...so hopefully those with more experience will chime in.
and welcome to smokelessimage!
the USB charger light is staying on or the volt Batt LED light?
I've actually dropped my autos, since that's all I use (I ordered a manual that seems to be defective, will have to take that up with CS soon - been putting it off since it causes me anxiety), in the tub one time, and it has held up to perfection. I took the carto off and put it on a paper towel batt-side down right after the event, but I'm vaping it right now without a problem. Probably the exception to the rule, and also a guardian angel on my side, but I thought I'd share anyhow.
Anyway, I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself. Gone through a few providers of various battery types before hitting Volt - and now I'm sold. I'm a voltron - love that name for the volters. Now all of my vaper friends are along for the Volt ride due to their amazing product, support, and prices. And they thank me for the recommendation no less! Now if only they'd quit asking me for recommendations on juices! Blargh! Fun stuff, still.
Anyway! Hello! I love reading this thread - you're all so friendly, funny, and great. I'm thankful for all of the information that I've gleamed off of your collective knowledge. Keep up the great work. As a newbie (vaping for two months, and smokefree since), it's been a great experience.
Love, moi <3
Hello, Im new to this thread and LOVE my VOLT !
First things first.
Who I am
I am new to posting here but not new to reading this thread. Because of ECF, this thread, Steeljans reviews and other reviews I purchased the Volt. I am analog free 5 weeks today. The day I got my Volt was the last day I smoked. Was a 2 PaD smoker and smoked 32 years without ever trying to quit, until now. Needless to say my volt (I now own 10 volt batteries) never leaves my hand. Prior to owning Volt I did try 2 other brands but they were not up to par.
The customer service at Smokeless Image is fantastic. I have placed many orders so far and give Smokeless Image an A+++ for product and service. This forum thread gets an A+++ for keeping me comin back for more. More of everything from excellent information to darn right LOL. So thank you very much.
I do have a few questions and decided to come here to ask. May have just ruined 3 SI cartomizers. Not a big deal but I want to know for future reference.
So I now have 25 SI cartomizers that I had refilled and used several times then cleaned using the boiling method. Watched several videos and read up on it on ECF. I think I've got the boiling method down and I also had tried the turkey baster method last week. Both seemed to work well. Two other of the cleaning videos I had watched they showed using a plastic tooth pic or a straitened out paperclip to slide through the bat end hole of a cartomizer to make sure it was clear and then showed looking through the hole, I guess to make sure that it was clean. The video said you should be able to see through the hole. So I decided to try it and now think I just ruined 3 cartomizers. On all 3 when I put the paperclip through it a little burnt wick came out (fell onto my desk) that had a tiny wire attached to it. So I stopped what I was doing and opened up a brand new unused SI carto and looked at the hole and could NOT see through it. If with a brand new one you can't see through the hole why would I want to be able to see through the hole on a used cleaned one? This is leading me to believe that I should not be doing this with these volt cartos? Is that wick supposed to be in the center hole on the Volt cartos? Does anyone else do this on the volt cartomizers when cleaning them? I'm thinking those videos may have been for older style ecig cartos.
the usb light always stays on.
but i am speaking of the led on the end of the volt. this one doesn't seem to be turning off.
in about an hour i will attempt a recharge and see if its still happening.
but so far its been staying on for hours....
how long should each batt take to fully charge using a the usb charger plugged into A usb 2.0 mac outlet anyway?
ok so you are using our battery and the LED does not seem to go out after charging for 2 hours correct? and you are using our USB charger ...but you are putting it into a mac USB wall adapter right?
Well ...
1) the battery LED's should go out when fully charged...
2) I am not sure what the mac adapter specs are...could be causing the issue if they are not putting enough to properly charge the USB charger and the VOLT battery.
3) I would try charging the Volt battery on the volt USB plugged into an actual USB port to determine if the Mac adapter is the issue....
4) if the volt battery LED does not go out when charged that way after 3 hours let me know...we may need to exchange something
I had considered that too, but only priority mail do I get full detailed tracking. First Class gives as little as possible...it is the most unreliable to track...guess that's why you pay more for priorityI just don't think USPS is as reliable as they once were. I have heard too many complain of missing items (one person had a package delivered with nothing but a packing slip)...I have had packages ripped and taped numerous times....oh how my list could go on. So the other day I told you a co-vaper-worker ruined his battery and got a card for SI from me and ordered some batts. Today I took him a RY4 carto to let him try and he is in love with them. Maybe I got you another buyerWoo Hoo!
Ry4 was very hard for me to give up but I wanted to share the awesomeness!

Welcome !!! so proud of all the new Volters!!keep up the great work!!!
sticking anything down the middle bad idea ...i would toss the cartos the wicks came out ofbroken..unless you can put it together...but that would take some skill...dunno if I could do it....
the video you watched was most likely for an older version of an 808d1 cartos... just stick with the other methods and they will stay nice and clean that way![]()
Any delivery company has problems with some packages. It's just the law of averages or Murphy's Law. However, I send packages for my business, and I use United Parcel Service. They have a good rate if you send things 2-day air, and most of the time the packages get there on time. If SI is thinking of using this service instead, they probably could make a deal on shipping rates, since they send out so many packages a day. I send out one a week at most, and they made a deal with me, though it was years ago. At that time, I was using Airborne, and I called UPS to see if they could give me a better deal, and they did. Companies I deal with also send me packages, and I have noticed that over the years, their mode of shipping changes -- the company they use -- but none use the postal service. They mostly use FedEx or UPS. I have stuck with UPS mainly out of laziness, since exploring other shipping rates and taking a chance on a new company's reliability is more bother than just going with what I've always done. However, big companies that send me work seem to be into switching major companies to get the best deal, so maybe SI should consider this. However, it takes time and energy to research the companies and negotiate a deal. I can see how a small company may not have staff to dedicate to this when they are probably racing against time just to fill orders.
However, I do think a company like UPS or FedEx is more accountable to tracking than the post office. And I don't use the post office's overnight Express Mail because, though they guarantee overnight, my local post office will only give me 2-day service. I have to drive miles to a more centrally located post office to get true overnight service. For 2-day service, my UPS rates beat the post office's "overnight" Express Mail.
So, Imagine, that's my small business experience with delivery services, FWIW. If you think this information might be useful to show to the boss in order to change delivery services, please feel free to do so. But the boss may want you or someone else to first research comparable costs to show him the comparative advantages of one service over another.
