Lol I did order more, but they wont be here until next week :( so I have to make it through the weekend at least. The method i used last was soaking them in boiling water then flushing them out with a turkey baster and drying them overnight

They might not be completely dry -- that will give them a musty taste. Some people put in the oven on a low heat for an hour or so then let it sit for another day, or set in the window with direct sun on it. But overnight might not be enough to completely let it dry.

Makes perfect sense. Or ... it doesn't happen to taste like old turkey, does it? <just kidding>

I always ended up killing mine or altering them taste wise if i let them soak .Try just filling the turkey baster with as hot of water are you can stand then power flushing it through the carto a few times .Then take and just blow air through it with the baster untill you get very little water coming out and set them up to dry over night .that is my method takes about 3 minutes to clean .I was actually thinking of making a video of my method but i am sure they are others out there

i have had a few get a stiffer draw on them but that is after very prolonged use .What i find to help but it may be all in my head is on the bottom of the carto take a small screwdriver and turn just slightly the post to the left for a looser draw and to the right for a tighter draw .But it may all be in my head lol
Nope, it's not all in your head. KR808s cartos are designed to be adjustable that way. I've had some cartos that were probably glued in and wouldn't turn (ugh, frustration) though. Haven't had to adjust any of the Volt ones yet, but glad to know it works on these too.

A lot of vendors who deliver outside the states put a disclaimer that they are not responsible if customs confiscates the package. As vendors do you have the same issues when you order quantities of product? Will they customs confiscate it?

it has happened in the past ...when the FDA was trying to regulate it as a drug delivery device...that really hasn't been happening anymore knock on wood... however things do get caught up sometimes due to improper paperwork and the like....can get held up for days in those instances...

So just with the history and what can happen with delays....we just have the policy not to do pre-orders....we only sell what's on our shelves in Ohio :)

Catching up, lol. Tried to save everyone's posts I wanted to answer but my browser hung up. So here's my 2 cents on some stuff:

To the person who said they filled a carto, let it sit overnight, then topped it off and tried to vape it but it just got really hot and didn't put out any vapor -- Sounds like you overfilled it. Take the cartomizer off the battery, put a tissue under the threaded end, and blow through the vaping end. This will eliminate any overfilled liquid. Then try vaping it again.

To the person who said they added some eliquid to their carto and then it tasted awful -- The coil might have a little burny crud on it, this happens to me after I've used a carto for a couple of days. I take the cartomizer off the battery and drip a couple of drops straight down the middle, so it's going right down onto the coil. Then hold a tissue under the threaded end and blow through the vaping end. Look to see if the e-liquid comes out brownish instead of the e-liquid's real color. If so, yep, crud on the coil. It might be okay now to go ahead and vape it or you might want to repeat the procedure until the e-liquid you blow out is the right color.

As for a cartomizer getting hard to vape after long usage, yep, this can happen. What happens is that the crud on the coil keeps building up until it's like a crispy,hardened-lava BB (a BB as in BB gun), blocking the center air hole inside the cartomizer. Happens a lot with dark, heavily sweetened e-liquids or ones containing real tobacco infusions. If you continue trying to vape it, the BB keeps growing, blocking even more of the air hole and becoming a tighter & tighter vape. The cartomizer also gets hotter and hotter to the touch when you try to vape it. It's because the coil is heating up more & more due to it not getting enough airflow and the insulation of the BB on it. Sometimes you can soak the carto in Everclear, vodka, or 96% rubbing alcohol overnight and get it loose enough to be able to flush the crud off, but honestly, I toss 'em at that point. This only rarely happens with Volt e-liquids because they are so clear, but happens quite often with other e-liquids, mainly those "designer e-liquids."

To the fellow whose mother wants to buy his brother and sister-in-law a couple of Volt kits -- I agree with what others have posted. We're trying to figure out how to do the same with my better-half's cousin. I'm thinking of saying that we're sending him a Volt to see if he can get those darned doctors to stop thinking everything wrong with him is about his smoking and get them focused on what's really wrong with him. He's stubborn and bull-headed, so I think this notion of giving him a tool to "buck the system" might just be the trick. Our sticking point is whether or not we should buy it and have it sent to him..... a lot of folks don't want people buying them things, it changes something from their own ownership to a feeling of obligation that doesn't sit well with them.

As for adjusting Volt cartos by adjusting the screw-head, I've tried it, doesn't work, at least not like the miraculous thing it did on old-style vertical coil cartomizers. Once a horizontal coil cartomizer get's a big BB on its coil, turning it doesn't free up much if any room.

Whew! And I didn't reply to everyone I wanted to, LOLOL!!!! This thread moves like lightening!

Steeljan, do you clean your volt carts?
if yes then how are you doing this?

Sort of yes & no. I used to clean all my atomizers and cartomizers to make them last as long as possible. And I started out doing the same with my Volts. But the Volt cartomizers last so long before needing cleaning that nowadays I feel I've gotten my money's worth when they crud up.

But anyhoo, I use an old Conair Ultrasonic Jewelry cleaner JC1, that I got from a thrift shop for $5. I put 1/2 Everclear and 1/2 propylene glycol in the cleaner. For each dirty cartomizer, I take off the mouthpiece, rinse with hot tap water and blow them out several times, then plop them in the cleaner, making sure to get all the air bubbles out. I turn the cleaner on high and let it run overnight (while it's sitting on a towel to dampen the buzzing noise that drives me crazy, lol). Next morning, I rinse and blow out each cartomizer until I don't smell any e-liquid or anything in them anymore. I bundle a few together and put a rubber band around them so they will stand up and not blow over and set them threaded side down on a tray lined with a dish towel out in the hot-hot Texas sun, from morning til night, then bring them in so the dew doesn't get in them. I set them back out the next day again, just for good measure and bring them in again before dark. That's it, done.

When I want to use one of these, I'll grab one and drop just two drops of e-liquid down the threaded end and give it a little tiny blow, just to make sure I've gotten the e-liquid onto the coil. Then I screw it onto the battery and vape it and see if it works just right. If it does, I'll take it back off the battery and go ahead and fill it. But if it doesn't taste just right or vape just right, I toss it and try another one.

GREAT tip SteelJan! I never thought to drip a few drops through the connector to test the carto!!! Does that work on the vertical coils too (I am guessing not, but it never hurts to ask:laugh:)? I still have quite a few of them.

Sure does. I've been testing all my cleaned atties/cartos this way before I go ahead and waste a whole bunch of juice to fill what might end up a nasty-tasting mess. LOL!!! :)
