Here, there, everywhere!
They don't get out until the end of June around here (this year it wasn't until June 28th), and I think lately back to school the week before labor day. Course, I suspect there are a whole lot more snow days here in Maine than there in Missouri. :)

I think we actually had 9 last winter, but some of those days we question if they should have - oh well:)

Laurae have fun shopping and going to the movie tomorrow....My kids are all grown, but I cherish when we get to spend one on one time together now.

Keela - I think the problem is Orange always reminds me of hunting (my hubby is a big deer hunter). He even did one of those trips last year where they rode horses into the mountains and he stayed all week with no electricity, proper bathroom etc. Now I think you know me well enough to understand that's not my style:) I told the guys I'd pay for the hotel room they stayed in on the way home to get cleaned up in. Hubby on the other hand allows me my girls trip every other year (I go with 5-7 of his sisters) . in February we are going to Aruba...can't wait. It's always nice to get away to the warm climate in the middle of an Iowa winter.

Okay..I obviously need some help as I just make one )(*)( of a mess filling carts. I was filling new blank carts. I used a syringe 1ml and with all of the carts it was too much - blew on the carts to get juice out of the center. I put the syringe all the way down between side and fill - but didn't work well. Guess in the future I will just drip as I've never had a problem with that..unless someone has an ancient chinese secret that I missed:)

So now I've blown on all of the carts, wiped them off and will let them set overnight. As long as i blow on them again before using I should be okay shouldn't I? Don't want to hurt any of my beautiful Volt batteries.........

I've been experimenting with this technique myself. I've learned to fill slooooowly...
Also, keeping the plug end cap on the battery end prevents it from leaking out (why didn't I think of that myself?).

I think that once I get the technique down, it will end up being slightly faster with slightly less waste than dripping in the general direction of the carto...

I can't wait and am nervous about school this year, more than dd I think. 1st year of Kindergarten. She did 2 years at a Christian preschool..(which was amazing). Odd days the first year, morning the next. This year....alll day, and they notified us her school will be one of the few elementary schools adapting the higher grades schedule of beginning an hour earlier at 7:35 am (yes, she's 5! and I don't do mornings well) stay till 2 something, but on wed she gets 1/3 days...oh my mama nerver are a wreck. In addition to the new school, we have uniforms this years...meh...tucked polo's into unforgiving polyester shorts will make her prepared for oomp loompa style. Hopefully her jumpers arrive from Target in time to have them hemmed....Oh,,why is there no "back to school" cleaning, rearranging, vacuuming sand out of the cars...get ready!! Life is turning on it's head, and worst of all...I have to be a real "school mom"...get it together mom...scary. I'm the one who forgets my snack days. ...
sorry for rattling.
Here they got out May 20th? and return the 22 of August...darn snuck up on me. I'm busy saving for some fun summer activities, now supplies, shoes (wide feet...heading to New Balance I suppose. Stride Rite has gone to crap......woah...it's just the nerves...sorry to ramble.
Good luck shopping! Have fun! Smurfs was great!!

JBM, glad everyone is ok, we have a home here in pottstown (pennsyltucky, as we lovingly call it) that is at the end of an off-ramp from the highway....they've tried everything but moving, their house as been hit at least a dozen times in the last 5 years, even with concrete pillars ( in the home's and homeowner's defense, the house and family were there before the off ramp.) I shiver every time I come off of that ramp and someone cuts me off (I've been to a few calls for that purpose as a former volunteer for our fire company.) if there's anything you guys need, don't hesitate to ask.

Imagine, thanks for the heads up, as I'm dying to try classic grape. I only comment because my daughter used to have us rolling when she'd say 'helicopter' (AAAAAACOPPPITER!!!) my son (2) has now stared on airplanes, and he goes to the door and says 'da plane, momma, da plane!' lmao! I was telling my friends about this right before I read the post....had to comment. :) been trying to get him to say "boss" instead of " mama" lol.

Achtung....feel your pain...did kindergarten 2 years ago, (dd is in 2nd starting end of this month) I was surprised how much christian preschool aided in the transition,(seeing as I'm not quite Christian in my beliefs...but I let my kids choose their own way....and as it stands, my 7 y/o is a devout, worshipping catholic) though I fear it won't be as easy on my son when the time comes. (SAHM with him, dd in daycare since 1 yr old) I'm not a morning person, so it surprises me every year. Wish we had uniforms. I used to get a $50 school clothes budget, and have already spent over $200 on dd's wardrobe, blows my mind. Kindergarten will be a great experience though. I tried getting involved in PTA and all that, trying to be the perfect mom, just to be shunned because I am a young mom, with a young mentality. Now I don't worry as much what's going on around school, as long as dd is happy. We have a few parents who we have clicked with, and thankfully they are much like us. I always worried that my kids would make friends and we wouldn't like the parents, or get along with them. (we live in the "poor" area of a very high class school district), and are not your typical 'parental types.' but my daughter loves her school, classmates, and teachers, which is way more than I can say about when I went to school in that district. She has no qualms or fears, and I'm thankful for that. Have fun with the kindergarten curriculum, I've found that no matter the district, it's fun for the kids and the parents.

Maybe I'm liking the first one so much better because it has a more dimensional look - and it's metallic ...
Wait, are we talking about the 2nd battery color picture or the 2nd of the two car pictures? I like the first car :) But I don't do orange.
It's the first car paint job that I like.

I wonder if we're all seeing the same colors in the pics on our computers. Different computer monitors may vary widely. The newest pic that Imagine put up looks like a deep orange to me - which IMO would be great if it weren't matte. And, I'm not sure about the lighting in that pic. It may be underexposed, which would make the color brighter in reality. Dunno - I just reeeeaaaallly like that first car color!!

Poor Imagine - Bless your heart!

EleanorR - Your avitar just cracks me up. It looks exactly like a painting I did (as a joke) about a hundred years ago entitled "Black Panther in a Cave at Night". Sold the original and a lot of prints of that one - and some in the Kansas City area. Where did you find the image? Just curious ...

Alright, let's do the run down.

1). Getting low on blanks. Two boxes should do me good. *check*
2). Getting low on Boba's Bounty (eek!). Big bottle it is! *check*

Well, there is my weekly basket. Small list this week, but everything else looks to be in good shape! :p

My "baby" is going to be a senour in High School this year! I've already had two boys graduate and the 2nd one just graduated from college this year and has a good job! I'm both happy and sad about one more year of puplic school for my baby. Only have to get through this year of nagging about homework, parent-teacher conferences, activities at school, etc.etc..When you put them in kindergarten it seems like forever before they'll graduate, but believe me the years fly by!

Oh Achtung:( I remember the first day of "big kids" school. Now we are 9th grade and schooled at home. Long story short....the school district we are in...USED to be a really good school...now what they teach kids is well, let's just say....whatever it takes to keep their (school) numbers up. Also, they have a stupid idea of buying your way outta trouble. Get play "bucks" for good deeds, and you can buy your way outta homework and such, but the catch is...if you forget something in your locker, you have to PAY to go to your locker....if you don't have the "bucks" to cover it, well a note comes home...happens again and it is detention. Oh...and some teachers will let you increase your grade with the bucks:shock: Not the way I want my kid coming outta school....and viewing how life works!!!

Question -- I was on the KBV thread and a few people commented on how they loved their Volts so I've been over here reading the last few days. I use 808 and don't want to change, I'm happy with simple. Since I have quite a few chargers already for the 808's do I need to get a Volt charger? Some seem to say that V4L and others will work. I thought to start I'd get a few batteries and maybe some cartos. Comments?

Bobbye.... I use my V4L chargers for my volt batteries. I have no issues..just note the LED will not go out on the Volt when charged---I use the light indicators on my charger.

Keela - Kudos to you for home school.... it doesn't sound like a great philosophy they are teaching the kids in your local school. I do feel sorry for teachers today as they just don't get the respect, support and financial reward they deserve. However we each need to look out for our own children in this crazy world today.

Star - My hubby actually has 8 sisters and 2 brothers. On our girl trips normally 5 or 6 of the sisters and I get away. We had our annual camping weeking recently, some of us rent campers others bring there own and we had 76 in attendenance. That is just hubbys siblings and our children's families:) It is crazy but fun......

Got my volt kit the other day. Works like I thought it would, which is good. But I need to contact them, one of the four batteries is DOA lol. No biggie though, as I have an army of vaping gear. As a matter of fact, I have a hopeful convert on her way to pick up the kit I got her. Hope it works out for her.
