A BRILIANT idea!! :thumb: Why didn't I think of that?

When I open the thread I click on "view first unread post" Then as I come to the ones I want to respond to I right click "Reply with quote" and open in a new tab. When I'm caught up I take the new tabs one by one and leisurly respond. Otherwise it's too confusing for me if I've been away for more than one page. I gotta have a system lol.

If I may take a moment and just go on a little rant in this safe environment: The new member's forum is kind of getting on my last nerve with the KR808ism. The same people that almost scared me off e-cigs altogether seem to just sit in there and tell every new subscriber to go get an ego or buy a mod. It irritates me, especially when I see a couple in particular stating repeatedly that "slim e-cigs will activate with wind or vibration". My Volt sure as he** hasn't, have any of yours?
It seems unfair to me that the people who most need the quality and consistency of KR808 (new models) vaping are the ones who are new, and everyone tells those people they suck. And even for the ones that aren't new, aren't they aware that upgrades have been made to the technology? I mean, Imagine's been vaping for a really long time and she uses the Volt doesn't she? Rave and SteelJan and lots of regulars in here aren't new to vaping and can still speak to the quality of the vape right?
I just know that when I first joined ecf I was really overwhelmed with info, and having someone tell me to go get a mod with a (insert long number here) battery and (insert series of letters and/or numbers here) atty/cart/carto was so off-putting I actually put a couple of members on ignore so I could sort through the info I could actually understand.
Sorry for this, I am in sort of a mood today and instead of taking it out on my employees I guess I let off that steam here.

When I was on the new members forum, trying to decide which e-cig to get, I experienced this, too, but I was pretty sure I wanted to start with something cigarette-like and simple, and when I made this clear, several people recommended the Volt, which is how I wound up here. I think it works for newbies if you stand your ground and know what probably is best for you. If the people advising the newbies are ones who love their mods, then that is what they will suggest. We love our Volts, and not being of a mechanical bent, I love the simplicity. It was an overwhelming amount of info, but I weeded through it and found the Volt. If I can, others can, too.

samuraijill - I agree that starting out a Volt is a perfect set up. I also think that if people expand and add mods in the future, having the kr808 would still be nice for some outings. I for one cannot see myself vaping on a screwdriver looking device...but who knows if I tried it I might like it, but certainly wouldn't take it to a family gathering:) There are sooo many options and choices it is very overwhelming when you are starting out.

I feel ya on the noobie confusion. I was SUPER confused when I got into this. I'm still learning so much, thanks to so many nice people on this forum. I still think that no matter how easy ECF makes this site... There will still be TONS of confused people out there that just don't have the patience, drive or resources to get the information they need. That's why threads like this are here (with over 8,000 post--mind you) and still going strong.
I know I've PooPoo'd 3 piece units before, as my first PV was a 3 piece-of-crap; however, there are a ton of people out there that love dripping, love atty's and love to "fiddle" with things. Also... Who am I to say that one device is better than another that gets that person to quit smoking. I mean... That is the goal, right?
So I'd say, try to educate the noobs (like myself) as much as possible so that they just don't start blindly following anyone's advice that just wants to sell product.

Oh wait! I forgot to mention... Yes... My volt will fire if I blow into the drip-tip end and stay on till the 7 second cut-off. I did it just now to confirm. Try it. So... I'd say, "Yes... It's possible for that to happen... possible, but not probable". You'd probably have to be in some pretty serious wind with your PV positioned just right. If that's the case... I think your battery firing on it's own is the least of your worries. :) Just say'n

auto batteries used to have sensors that would activate to sound or wind. Had a batt in my bra at a nightclub in 2009 and it starting firing and shocking me (due to the bass and vibrations of the music)... it was QUITE the SURPRISE!!!

The technology has just gotten better...so vapers who have not revisited autos since going to their fatt manual batts, just don't realize it.

The best thing we can do it try to say our piece in the noob forums to help out and direct them here :)

I am not allowed to post there otherwise I would ;)

On another note, the post I couldn't make in the contest about the cop is getting more "likes" than any of the ones I DID post in contest!

Why NOT ? ? ? Did you already post 7 ?

I know where you're coming from, Jill. When I got serious again about replacing smoking with vaping the first part of this May I still had my 510s and did the teabag thing for filling carts. After reading (on a different forum) and asking questions I upgraded to a 510 tank system, then to an eGo tank system. It worked fine but I just didn't like that big batt. Then I got back to ECF and did more reading. From what I saw of the mods I knew I didn't want something that looked like a refugee from Star Wars. I wanted to try the Volt but the starter kit was out of stock so I got two KR808 batts and a pack of cartos someplace else to try them. I liked them and then the first part of August I ordered the Volt. This system is just exactly what I wanted and I can't see that I'll ever change to another one.

Everyone's different. While the big batts and mods are perfect for some, they're not for everyone. New people should be told about all the different systems available so they can make better choices. IMO a system like the Volt is the best way for a newbee to see what vaping is all about. It's relatively inexpensive and easy to work with and take care of. Then if charging batts more often is a big thing for them, they can better judge where they should look for something else. I just wish I had been told about the KR808 before I got started with the 510 and eGo.

Heya folks! <looks around> Daaaaaaaang... lotta catching up to do...

Which I WILL do, but I found THIS so *&#% funny I had to share with a group I know would appreciate it.

First, you're not familiar with Michael Bublé and his song "Haven't Met You Yet", check it out first. Honestly, not that's the kind of song that trips my trigger, but it helps make the next clip that much more impressive.

When you're done with that, feast your ears on this from Bad LipReading. You're Welcome. :)
