Hi everyone - looooong time reader and pretty much still at noob poster. I've been waiting a full year for the mini-super mini PVs to get better, and after reading a couple hundred posts and watching a lot of videos (looking at you, S.Jan), I've decided to give the Volt a try. I was using the V4Life Vapor King with their cartos during Summer 2010, and I found those units to be about 50% of the way to the goal when it comes to finding a real substitute for analogs that look and feel like a real cigarette and do not require much work (modding, filling, etc.). I have a couple of questions that I haven't seen answers to after browsing for a little bit and I think all you Volt experts can help me with answers.

First of all, how many equivalent analog cigarettes would you say are actually in one volt carto? I know they are always advertised as one carto equals one pack of analogs, but I never found that to be anywhere near true. I take about 15 drags on an analog and smoke it for 5-7 mins before it is kicked. For budgetary reasons, I would really like to know how much vaping I can expect. I know this is a subjective topic, but if someone has a good idea of the 'average' number of drags or equivalent number of analogs are in one carto, I think that would guide me in the right direction.

Also, how would you say the Volt works in a relative comparison to the V4Life Vapor King -the V.King model from one year ago? I found the throat hit was a little too heavy (especially for my girlfriend), vapor production was pretty not so good, and the batteries were a bit unreliable and would drain quickly. If the V4Life units were 50% on the way to being able to quit analogs for me, would you say the Volt is 80-90% there? If so, I'm ordering ASAP. TIA

Hi JP welcome to the thread.
I think you'll be very impressed with the volt should you decide to order one. V4L sells some good products , but to put it nicely they didnt work so well for me. I ordered so many varieties of carto's that they all tasted the same. All had an underlying flavour and many that burnt out after a few puffs. Way too strong on throat hit , even at lower mg's. One girl at my work tried it and ended up with a sore throat and bad experience and to this day will not try another one. Battery life i cant comment on. It was so long along. However the image that sticks in my mind was these carto's suck and never again. it really left a bad impression on me. What changed my mind..... Voltian users that had a history behind them along with some steeljan vids!!! The 78' volt batts last me anywhere from3- 4hours of heavy vaping to half a day if i dont vape as much. Vapor production is tenfold on the volt compared to v4l. Volt will definately get you closer to the 90% mark and you never know it might just surprise you like it did me and you will never go back to what you used before. I cant comment on how many carto's equals a pack , i use anywhere between 2-4 carto's a day at the moment because i've had to stretch my stash. Everyone has different millage. Good luck and i hope you do decide to try one

AND - Welcome to the SI thread . . . :)

...that you came to join us to remind us of the :rules: about the "Sig" Banners . . ..

Erm, umm, thank you for the welcome, uncle, but if you go back to the first page of this thread I'm post #10 and way too many more since then --- that's why I feel like we're all friends, and I wouldn't want to see friends get in trouble with the ecf mods.
Now from one curmudgeon to another: GET OFF MY LAWN ! isn't that what old curmudgeons say?

all's well

I was smoking about 50 ryo (2 1/2 pad) when I stopped and started vaping, using 510 fat bats with everything from tanks to cartos. The Volt is my first and only 808 so I can't compare it to other brands but I go through 3-4 cartos a day so I'm guessing about 3/4 pack per. Ymmv. Hard to tell really because I do vape more often than I smoked and longer sessions. Can't tell when I'm through I guess, but I achieve at least the same satisfaction addiction wise as I did when smoking. One major difference in the horizontal bottom coil as opposed to the verticle 510 for me is I don't have to top off every half hour or so and it don't taste burnt until it's near empty. At the first sign of a flavor change I did a carto change and it takes about 20 to 25 drops of Volt juice. Most of the time now I just put a fresh carto on when I change batteries and fill em all at night. The auto batteries don't seem to require a primer puff, as advertised, and stay consistant from start to near finish. When they diminish I know I'm about 5 puffs away from a blinking led. For me the reviews that caused me to try them don't do them justice. I had already stopped the analogs by the time I got a Volt so comparing as to a percentage of the analog experience wouldn't be a good idea for me to try, but for simplicity and performance as a vaporizer I'd say it exceeds anything I've tried by 150%. Again, ymmv.

Dang, start out to answer a few questions and wind up writing a review.

+1 on the Cinnamon! Specifically, Cinnamon Red Hots ;-)

+1 from me too. Especially if the Cinnamon Red Hots actually tastes like Big Red gum!

The one I got now does, and I cant explain how addictive it is. Sure, you cant eat anything for like 5 hours after vaping because it will scorch your mouth and destroy your tastes buds; but Yummy!!!!!

Just wish I could find a bit richer tasting/TH creating version of it

HAH!!!! I ordered my goodies just minutes before the auto batteries were announced, my package came today. Some RY4 & a nice orange battery. I really dig the color.

Yes, got an Orange Auto permanently attached to my lip it seems. Best color ever

Especially this time of year, with a black carto and the fancy orange soft-tip - I'm quite festive looking...

Do these new black autos have the velvety/rubbery finish, or are they a shiny finish?

And what about the white? What kind of finish? I'm thinking that if people wanted more variety in colors before the other colors arrive, they could use those skins. But I heard they were better on the metallic batts.

purple LED's in the 78mm were missing from the shipment...we will have them soon :)

Oh, well that makes sense.

See, first I really just wanted a simple white one with red LED. But, of course, white wasn't included in this shipment :( Then I thought, well I guess that's okay cause a purple LED would be super sweet!

Ya know, come to think of it, maybe I should be taking it personally at this point...

Every time I think it don't get no better than this and I've got everything I need, you come up with more inovations that I can't live without. That's just unfair....but please don't stop.:D

Flavors...there might be additions in the future....but we have a lot more innovations to hardware and accessories on the way...and those are our main concentration at the moment ;)

 Well - I want to THANK YOU ! ! ! for that review :) . . . I don't think I remember anyone that "smoke" as much as I, ever explain what was their experience as well, to the point, or as completely, especially so that I could understand what I might expect when I completly go through the "transition" . . .
