You think maybe it's a darker ash cap? Try popping it off for a sec. Is it still dim?

I was a little irked when the new USB chargers were dimmer, but it looks like the LED is inside translucent black plastic now, instead of out in the open, like the old green LED ones.

Well glory be! I didn't know you could take those off. Okay I took off the ash cap and it's still dim. I don't have another purple one but took the ash cap off a manual with a blue led. It's much brighter with and without the cap than the purple one is.

It's not a big deal to me because the new batt is really great. Just thought I'd let eyebedam know I had a dim one too. Battery, that is.

I have a couple of black batts both with blue LED's. One of them has a very low glow. I use it when I need to be stealth like when I'm at the movies.
The batt it self performs well

I just got my sealed ones today (yay!). The white LED isn't going to light up a room, but I don't really want it to, but doesn't seem dimmer than my others. I had to give the carto a little extra encouragement to get it screwed on one of them, but the other one went on easy as normal. Maybe it's just the threading that makes it a little tighter, and after a few tries it will smooth out.
The draw seems pretty much the same to me as the others, so that's good. Plus my cartos came too, so it's a good day. Now if I can only get the shipping confirmation on the iPhone order...

RE: Purple LEDs

I have an old-style purple Volt manual w/ purple LED. I agree, the purple LED is "dimmer" than other colors (green and red/orange seem to be brightest). I've experienced this with other kr808s too, and it was explained to me that the purple consists of a mix of both blue and red LEDs, which for some reason made it dimmer. (I would think that should make it brighter, no?):confused:

It pains me a bit, but I was able to control myself and didn't buy a single thing during the Columbus Day sale. Jeesh! How'd that happen?! But - my "collection" is pretty much complete. I do still have a few from other suppliers that will no doubt crash and burn (as my purple from another guy did recently). I've learned my lesson about other sources, and will replace them with SI's sealed autos as they wither away. It's funny: Some of the other guy's batts are covered with skins, but I can tell while I vape them which are SI's and which aren't. There is really just no comparison. The consistency of the vape from "freshly charged" to the point of "needing a charge" is really remarkable.

I resisted, too, having just placed an order before I found out about the sale. Whew! It was close, though.

Happy b'day adrena!! Hope your day is great & u get spoilt. As for those having battery problems , i had something similar happen a couple of days ago. Always after 10 minutes of fully charging it would just cut out. After the third attempt it started fully charging with no problems and has been great ever since. I hope your works out for you soon & or someone can help more.
Short but hectic station shift today and now home to relax, have a peaceful coffee with cappuci volt vape ;) and watch the threads a bit. oh nearly forgot again, congrats to vic.... Err the facebook winner !!!!! Yay

Just curious - how were you charging your batt? Was it a PCC, USB to AC, hooked directly to your computer or maybe to a powered USB device? Reason I'm asking is the first thing that occurs to me is not a battery problem, but maybe a charger problem, like the method you're using just isn't gettting enough juice to the charging device??? Steeljan, help me out here...

Well I have a older 2-3weeks old non sealed purple & 2 new sealed purples & the new 1"s are 10 times less dim than tge older ones. So dim if your in a pitch black room u can barely see them. Thats why I posed the question to start. It's all good I just wanted to see if it was all me or not lol.

According to my late husband "Murphy's Law" was originally "The Schlotz Metterkumph Theory" but the name didn't stick. *wonder why?* ... Then again, he mighta been just messin' with me - lol.

I think it's a joke. Google didn't turn up anything with that name. But for info about Murphy's Law, see Murphy's law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's a great idea for the dim led. It's a shortie and the batt and carto (w/o a drip tip) can be concealed in my hand. My problem is I can't seem to find a way to hide the vapor. Unless I hold it in forever, and then I feel like I'm about to pass out.

Hopefully - if you purchased you stuff just before the Columbus Day Sale, "You" contacted CS as "Imagine" suggested to get the 20 % sale credited to your account/charge . . . :)

Just a reminder ;)

It well could be, but my husband was an electronics engineer for a few years before I was even born - literally. He was one of the engineers that worked on the L.E.M. unit (the Lunar Excursion Module) for Apollo - yeah - a rocket scientist. (I had a lot of fun with that over the 23 years of our marriage - lol) It may have been an "in joke" at Apollo, or their own version of it.

I just reread that. I mean the new 1s are NOT Bright. They are really dim. Sorry. I confused myself lol.
The way I see it.... the less bright, the less batt usage, the longer the batt will last... I'm hoping so anyways
Actually, I wish they only light up when they are charging and only flash when there dead to maybe save batt life during use... of coarse I don't even know if that would make much of a diff???
Who knows..... I'm still excited, I get mine tomorrow:) cant wait to wrap them up in skins:)

Mental Note: Don't order new juice when you are out of fresh blanks...
t2412.gif

And once you tear apart your office and manage to find your last cleaned carto :headbang: don't sample said new flavor after having chimichangas for dinner

SI order (with blanks) shipped this morning, let the mail carrier stalking commence :p

Uncle: Love your new avatar!!
Purple LED's: I have an old-style black auto that's only 3 weeks old or so...the purple LED is quite dim, and the purple LED in the Diamond batt (from another vendor) I have is also dim, so I just assumed that all purple LED's are dim. I guess you could say I'm a "half-glass" kinda girl: the glass is neither half-full, nor half-empty...it's just a half-glass.:)
