Dude... Is it me, or am I the only one that doesn't get to look at beautiful trees, mountains, deer, and rivers everyday. I love L.A., but I hate it at the same time. Everyone lives in their concrete bubble, then gets in their bubble car, and sits in bubble traffic, then works in their skyscraper bubble and repeats the process the next day.
BTW... Today was a special day... Our President graced us with his presence and caused an extra hour in peak traffic this morning! YAY!

I lived in NYC for years, and each weekend, I'd go out to more countrified places to hike. You must be able to find that kind of relief from the city in LA.

CarrieD - Michigan is absolutely beautiful with so many deep, mysterious forests. My kinda country! I used to drive to shows in Lansing and once in Claire. Such an enjoyable drive! But when you folks have snowstorms, you don't mess around. I had to drive home from Lansing in whiteout conditions. All I could do is keep my eyes on the taillights of the vehicle ahead and hope for the best.

Look what I photographed at the edge of the yard right by where we park our cars:

Breathtaking! I have no words ...

My dream vacation would be a tour of the east coast. Some day I'll do that.

The east coast is wonderful. And the seafood!! I got so spoiled by the crab cakes in Ocean City that none of the others I tried since could even approach measuring up. It was interesting to read Michener's Chesapeake before my first trip out east too.

I thought I would share these, since I use to live nearby - this is the view outside my sister's front door in Frenchtown, NJ right on the Delaware River:

NJ is another state that's gotten a bad rap. No wonder they call it The Garden State. My yearly excursion to Basking Ridge was always one that I looked forward to. Never could quite get used to all of the one way streets with U-turns though.

Ya'll are posting all the beauty that surrounds you - thought I'd share a current scene of a giant Lego Man that washed ashore this morning at Siesta Key

What the flip?!

Around here snow IS considered fall colors :D

It's awfully hard to beat Montana for scenic vistas. That's a beautiful pic! And I love the aspens. I read that there's a specific aspen grove that is considered to be Earth's largest living organism because the roots are continuous beneath the ground's surface.

Well all of those shots just blew me away! To think that we are all in our own space - sometimes thousands of miles apart - and yet we connect here ... because of the Volt. Imagine that! :)

I wouldn't mind riding in that country, too. Are we on, Carrie? A ride together?
Everybody's welcome :thumb: And since Carrie is well versed in extravagant outhouses you should be fine out here

Can you dig up that photo?
Once I mentioned it I started looking...no luck yet :glare: Too many gadgets  Was it on a phone....or my old camera.....which computer did I save it on, crap. It'll surface eventually :p

Yep... you drive this way for 30 mins to get to mountains, or that way for 30 mins to get to ocean, or the other way for 30 mins to get to desert. I live a little north of LA where I drive past orchards, nurseries, ranches and rolling hills, and see snow covered mountains (in the winter) in the distance. It is actually very pretty around here. :)

There will be a new PCC out, factory confirmed last night it will take 25 days to finish the mold and then 15 days for the first run of production :( so it will still be some time before we have them....

Aw mannnn... was hoping they'd be ready any day now :( No b'day present for me :(
Hope there are no further delays because that will be cutting it close for Christmas.

Nope, I got concrete, graffiti and trash in all directions as well :(

...in fact, I'm probably close enough where I might be staring at some of the same concrete, graffiti and trash as you right now!

Wow, 30 mins in any direction and I merely get about 5 miles from my house! Which mean, ultimately, all I get is a closer view of the concrete, graffiti and trash I can see from my doorstep...

Nah, realistically though, yes - beach in 5 mins, mountains in 20 and desert in 30-40 if I pick good times to hit the roads. Still, the city overwhelms unfortunately and I'm very jealous of everyones beautiful pics!

Here's what I use. I'm reusing stuff that I already had, and I like it cuz it's FREE!

That's my old cigarette case from when I used to smoke VS 120s, and an old business card case. The liner on the ecig case is anti-slip foam that someone from eBay used for packaging, and the foam on the carto case was cut up from an old keyboard wrist rest. I chain vape in the car, so it really makes it easier when they're already assembled. I only fill at home, because I get really messy, and the USB dongle stays in the car attached to the car charger. I have another case for [5 30ml] bottles in case I ever have to go far away from home, but haven't had to use it yet - that one's a zippered pencil case, with the same wrist rest!

...you get really resourceful when you're broke! :p

Thanks, yours is nice too. I like these hard cases that flip open when you push the button. Makes me feel so classy...but I'm way too uncoordinated while I'm driving to be screwing stuff together, so alas, have to stay with the longer one. But I can usually get by without the carto case, so no big deal. Plus I'm a girl. Most of us usually have something to throw them into! :)
Wow, St. Louis..you must get your SI stuff hella fast, huh?
