I don't like the Facebook icon at the top, either. It doesn't "fit" with the banner and navigation bar.As far as Facebook is concerned, I use it to make occasional posts for my family and friends to read. I refuse to use the gazillion apps on that site because of all of the security problems.
Same here - that's all I used it for, even had privacy setting for only "friends" to see and find stuff . . .
Until recently, when I came to ECF, if I wanted to enter a contest there were a lot of Vendors that wanted you to "like" them on "Facebook" to enter - so I did for the ones I trusted like SI . . .
But not for any others . . .
AND Now - NO - Nada - NOT GONNA HAPPEN - Not Any More . . .
I've "unfriended" my family and friends, deleted all the pictures that I had there to share with just my family & friends, and now I still have to "unlike" stuff before I can close the account (a must be done - to remove any and all stuff that "Facebook" tries to grab and hold on to) . . . An Absolute - PIMA ! ! !

Under Quick Reply, there is an icon of a green check mark with ABC written above it.
I've gotten really good at not even noticing the facebook button anymore - seems to be everywhere now. Just because it's there doesn't mean we have to use it, right?
My only take on user interface changes here is that there are probably some concessions that have to be made in keeping it free and running for us (not for Imagine - sorry about that). So have at it ECF, as long as it doesn't harm our computers or compromise our security. Smaller avis and sigs to cut back on the growing bandwidth needs? no prob. A few ads to raise funds? yes, but please be careful. Oh, and keep it affordable for suppliers too. Because I would really miss you guys if this forum were gone, and probably wouldn't be able to afford it if we had to pay for the service...

Yep - There is - THANKS . . . However it is not working . . . SO I think I need to reinstall it again . . . Had to do it when I first started posting on ECF and now with the changes that icon now longer works . . . I forgot where I got it from and I did a search with NO luck . . . OKAY - another PITA thing that I gotta do
. . .you got to open a program and while you are on ECF and with the window open you can then install the program so you can use that icon . . . EDIT: FINALLY - Found the link to the program . . .
And - Just in case anyone else needs it : ieSpell - Spell Checker add-on for Internet Explorer
Now - if I could get the rest of these other dam icons to work right - No Fonts - No Size - No Color, etc etc etc . . .
AND - This auto save is just - well just a PAIN ! ! !

Good evening to all. *waving* Welcome to the new volties - voltians? Why can I never remember that?
It's been one of those weeks. Was without interent for 2 days
and health issues on top of that. But, lucky me, am recovering in time for the sale! Had to stop and place order immediately. lol
Enjoying all the home-town pics and Uncle, nice to see you - almost life size. And just when I get here, it's time to break for dinner. Carry on. 
p.s. that blue fb thingy is giving me a headache everytime I go to a new page. ugh

Agree with the #%$^%^$&% FB thingy and I'm on IE and everything looks pretty much the same to me.

We think there might have been an issue with the previous software version, we've just upgraded everything and things seem to be OK now. Also we have recently changed advert supply channels to one managed by Google, this seems to have some issues with tracking cookies which are being reported as a virus or as spyware.
So things are a bit complicated right now, but hopefully in a couple of days will have settled down so that we can tell what the situation is. Thanks for the heads-up, let's see what happens.
Note to others: normally, you will only experience any issue even on an infected website if:
1. You are using Internet Explorer
2. Your antivirus is not very good
3. You have outdated software on your PC
Macs and Linux are not normally targeted as there are not enough of them to make it worthwhile.
You MUST keep your apps updated - out of date Java, Flash, Adobe PDF Reader etc WILL make you vulnerable and IT IS YOUR FAULT if malware can lodge on your PC due to the obsolete software versions you are using.
Update Java using the JavaRa app, it's by far the best way.
Update Flash and see if you can remove any old versions or installers.
Don't use Adobe PDF Reader. Just don't. Use something like PDF-Xchange Viewer, it's 10 times faster and 10 times less vulnerable.
And if you use IE you know you are asking for trouble - so everything else MUST be 100% right.

It's also been said that some of Google's cookies (and Facebook) act like spyware or viruses. Continuing to monitor and log traffic even after you've logged off. Of course, they denied it.

Although, I use "mainly "Google" to search, there is no way I am downloading and using "Googles' Chrome" - already tried it and dislike it intently . . .
I've even tried other browsier's, been IE ever since Netscape went haywirer . . .
So I hope they fix these problems . . .
BTW:Anyone else watch the ION channel, I've just seen my 5th commerial for e-Cig's . . .

I also dislike Chrome. I use Firefox simple tons of plugin,add ons, simple to use loads fast and not IE
I haven't watched ION but i saw a e-cig commercial on Syfi channel.
