I ain't going out on amatuer night. I'm going to smoke a variety of meat and stay home. Also having house guests that are spending the night. I don't drink anyway and I'll be darned if I'm going to get killed by somebody who does.

My mind didn't interpret "smoke a variety of meat" properly when I first read it. I probably shouldn't admit this, but I pictured you trying to light a hot dog like a cigar.

I'm having my own mini New Year's party at my house for my son, his GF, my daughter and her DH. If they wish to partake, they're welcome to; but I'll be making the Sneaky Pete's without the Sneak this year. I'm on waaaay too many meds to have alcohol. My kids prefer it without the hooch anyhow.

Sneaky Petes

1 - 12 oz. can limeade (frozen)
1 - 12 oz. can grape juice (frozen)
1 - 12 oz. can cranberry juice (frozen)
1 - 12 oz. can orange juice (frozen)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
32 oz. 7-up
1 whole bottle of vodka (or 2 if ya wanna be reeaallly sneaky)

Moosh it all up and freeze for 24 hours or more. It will never freeze completely because of the vodka. Fill a glass about 1/3 - 1/2 with the slush and fill the rest of the way with 7-up. A friend of mine "pantsed" her hubby after a few too many of these. Even funnier when she discovered that he was going commando.

hoping you will get some other answers here :)

As far as price if you wait for a good sale like 20% off or so... and buy the blanks in bulk (10 packs $7.49 a pack bulk pricing) it would equal $6 a pack after the discount. Plus our shipping to Canada is very reasonable ...about $5-$8 for that order :p

Volt carto's ??

I am gettin a volt in the mail soon, I ordered one pack of blanks from them but was hoping to find another vendor to order cheaper cartos from ???

I know of good prophets and east mall, East mall is really expensive shiping though since i live in canada.
And goodprophets canceled my order since i chose shipping not available to can. so I will probably reorder from them if i cant find any thing eles.

Where do you guys get your cartos>? or do you all just buy volt ones only?

rhianna89 - I only use Volt cartos now. There have been sooo many that I've tried, but none equal the vapor and flavor of Volt's horizontal coil cartos. The others that I've tried "tighten up", and can't be reused very well. I've washed and reused the Volts many times with very little depreciation in performance.

With my limited experience I found Volt cartos perform better than any other I tried. I had at least 5 different cartos from different vendors (including 2 horizontal coils) and nothing compared to Volt.

P.S. ah yes ... and hello dear SmokelessImage folk, as a proud new owner of Volt kit I'll be hanging around in this thread if it's ok :)

+1, what Imagine and Rave said.

I've tried other cartos that claim the exact same techonology (horizontal coil, blah blah blah) from other places, and am finding out that not all of them are created equal. What you may save in money now, you'll lose in consistency and longevity. Stock up and go bulk during the next sale. Order early when you do, because EVERYBODY's thinking exactly the same thing and there's usually a mad dash for those.

FYI, The cartos and the RAD battery colors in MANUAL are the two biggest things that keep me here! (...and this long-a** thread!) :)

Hi, radamist - welcome!

Mmmm loving my new vanilla cartos! Yum yum

YAY, Janie46 got her cartos!

...now, don't let that ever happen again!!! :)

Stock up, and don't throw them away - you never know when you're gonna be desperate (or in my case poor) enough to clean and reuse them (which I do regularly).

I've only used Volt prefilled cartos. I hear the Volt cartos work better with Volt batteries than others do, so even if you want to fill them with your own juice, I'd still opt for the Volt cartos. If I wanted to do that, my choice would be to order prefilled of a flavor or compatible flavor to the juice, rather than get blanks. I hear they are the same price, so it seems more cost-effective to order prefilled. They can also be washed and reused, I hear, though I haven't done that yet.

A ten pack for $6? That is a good deal.

Is that off the top of your head?

glad you like it :)

As to the material we looked for the perfect kind of shell quality. It is made of EVA material :

Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It’s an extremely elastic material that can be sintered to form a porous material similar to rubber, yet with excellent toughness. It is three times as flexible as low-density polyethylene (LDPE), showing tensile elongation of 750% with a peak melting temperature of 250°F (96°C).
This material has good barrier properties, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive waterproof properties, and resistance to ultraviolet radiation. EVA has little or no odor and is competitive with rubber and vinyl products in many electrical applications.
CLASSIFICATIONS
As specified by Porex material suppliers, the ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) grade represented complies with FDA Code of Federal Regulations and may be used as articles or components of articles intended for use in contact with food.

soft and extremely elastic yet tough
competitive with rubber and vinyl in many electrical applications
good clarity and gloss with little or no odor

EVA is one of the materials popularly known as expanded rubber or foam rubber. EVA foam is used as padding in equipment for various sports such as ski boots, hockey, boxing, mixed martial arts, wakeboard boots, waterski boots, fishing rods and fishing reel handles. It is typically used as a shock absorber in sports shoes, for example. It is used for the manufacture of floats for commercial fishing gear such as purse seine (seine fishing) and gillnets. In addition, because of its buoyancy, EVA has made its way into non-traditional products such as floating eyewear. It is also used in the photovoltaics industry as an encapsulation material for silicon cells in the manufacture of photovoltaic modules. EVA slippers and sandals are nowadays very popular because of its properties like light weight, easy to mold, odorless, glossy finish, and cheaper compared to natural rubber. In fishing rods, it is used to construct handles on the rod-.... end. EVA can be used as a substitute for cork in many applications.

Next order I'll be getting some juice so that I can do just that
