OK guys!!! Here's the official report about my first vape! OK, I filled my carto with a 6mg nicotine yummy tobacco flavor. On my first draw I knew that I loved vaping! It was just so cool but I wasn't satisfied because even though the flavor was great, it was like smoking an ultra light cigarette because there was no throat hit, that special something you feel when you take a drag that lets you know that the nicotine is getting in! That special "something" :) I thought that was all I could expect from vaping, ecigs being an honest effort to be a cigarette but falling short! Then I pulled out my last hope bottle of juice! My emergency 30ml bottle of 24mg nicotine juice of Wowboy. On my first draw....holy cr*p!!!! What a hit!!!! That was gooood!!! I was so happy! In my opinion the 6mg nicotine juice just didn't contain enough nicotine to produce a throat hit for me. The 24mg was right on the money for me! I even had to take smaller draws so it wouldn't be too strong! :) I had a cigarette after that to compare and I can honestly say that the ecig hit seemed stronger and the full flavor cigarette suddenly seemed a little lacking!!! I did NOT expect that! I'm still wondering if I'm being delirious and if this can be true! I'm going to have to do more testing but right now I want to pick up my Volt instead of a cigarette to be satisfied!

I tried the 24mg first, expecting I would need as much oomph as possible to compete with analogs, but when I compared the two, I found the 24mg to be a little harsher. Since then, I tried the 18mg juice, and it seems to be perfect for me. Now I'm trying different juices to see which I like the best.

Well that's great Kblush! Glad to hear it. As far as that "hit" goes both or either higher nicotine or a stronger Pg/Vg juice usually accomplishes that. Don't know what ratio you tried but usually anything above 75%Pg/25%Vg produces it for me. I usually vape 24mg anyway, SI's Desert Joe does a really good job. I'll bet in no time you'll have put those cigarettes away for something that both tastes better and is much healthier. Exciting hearing about somebody's first vape. Thanx for sharing that with us.

sounds about right ....

Keep in mind since about 4000 + chemicals are missing you will not get the same woozy feeling that you get from an analog... but you will as you said get the nicotine and throat hit...

Once your body adjusts to being without the chemicals its gets even easier...

Just try not to play a mental game with which one is better...analogs could win as that is what your body is used to and addicted to.

I never used 24...but started with 18mg and it did the trick. Now I will use 6 or 12mg. One thing, if you have any trouble sleeping..you might try the lower nic in the evening. Drink TONS of water. I know you've probably heard that a lot but it makes such a big difference. Just my:2c: Best of luck...

Hi! 24mg is a little strong, who knows maybe I will go down to 18mg! :) I am definitely getting a harsh feeling and a peppery taste and I don't know if it's cause because of my juices or the nicotine. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for the compliments :), but your's are just as good, we just have different styles is all.

And yes, a horse fan..my fav subject LOL.

And drawing on the computer with Painter and a Wacom tablet isn't all that diff from the more conventional media, but there is a learning curve while getting to know the software and possibly getting used to the drawing tablet (wacom tablet), couldn't do it with a mouse.

But it's fun stuff! and No mess to clean up ;)

Sorry for the delayed response, been playing catchup after the holidays.

Wow! Great stuff! Now I'm green with envy. You certainly know better than me how to get those highlights and shadows just right. And I guess you must be another horse fan, right? I really like the Lipizzan. I like the ear of corn, Santeria, too. Certainly I can't offer any advice on how to improve, since mine's not as good, and you have already figured out stuff I'm still working through. What medium did you use?

I see you answered the medium question already. Drawing with my computer is way beyond me. How does that differ from drawing the old-fashioned way?

It could be either one. The first one I tried was 555, and I found the flavor and the strength to be a bit overpowering. All I can say is if you are not happy with what you have, try some other juices; once you find something you like the analogs are less appealing.

well 2 things...

Yes the higher the nic the more throat hit and "harshness" ...nicotine will also dull the taste of the liquid...

Also vapor is heavier then smoke...vapor will fall and smoke will rise... so you have to get used to that....(that is why the analog you tried seemed lighter then it used to :p...in addition the vapor may make you cough initially like getting into the shower in the morning when smoking heavily the night before...

since you have 24mg and 6mg juices you can take a bootie or condom and fill it half with 24mg and half with 6mg it would then be like vaping 15mg...might want to try that...

Hi! :) Thank you for sharing my excitement! :) I decided to just stick with my 24mg nicotine juice for the next few days while I wait for an atomizer . I'm taking someone's advice to buy an atomizer and use it to taste my juices to see if I like them instead of wasting a lot of cartos! I don't want to use up my good Volt cartos on just giving some juices 1 taste and then getting rid of the carto if I don't like the juice! I can't afford it since I'm going to need them shortly when I choose my fave flavors and order them in 30ml bottles and 24mg nicotine. I have one problem though which I hope you or someone else can help me with! I need to have explained to me how to use an atomizer to taste juices! And if you just use one to taste juices do you need cartridges with it? Also, if someone could give me a link to where I could get the right type and size to go on my Volt I would appreciate it! Thank you!!!!!!!! :)

Thank you!,

I used to (sketch, Paint oils/acrylic, colored Pencil, pastels and clay sculpture), and still on occasion do some crafty things, but I've been in transit for so long now that it's been hard to have a set up, and the art pieces are in storage. Even the computer art has been placed on hold while I get the rest of my life straightened out LOL

As far as I am concerned - Painting using a computer program is not easy at all . . . And the work you showed us is quite interesting . . . I really like the Horses and especially the "Horse with the Sun rise/set back ground" and the Graphical work . . . Do you do anymore Art by hand without the computer - I'd really like to see that too if you do . . . Some really GOOD Pieces - Please keep it up :)

Esoterica3: I know that I promised you a critique, but I once again find myself in the awkward position of analyzing a medium with which I have no experience. Although I know just enough about PhotoShop to be dangerous, I've never used a painting program. So, I will limit my comments to artistic features only.

First of all: "Energy" is my absolute favorite. The spirit of this piece is amazing. I love how the motion of the mane is echoed in the clouds. The composition is flawless. All of your pieces have a high level of drama, fantasy, a magical essence and enhanced imagination. "Santeria" makes me ponder. The deep shadows in the face of "Osiris" add to the exotic mystery of the face above a river leading where?

I find myself struggling to offer some advice, but have none to offer. You're already nailin' it. Let it build, let it flow, and watch it explode.

Thanks so much Rave! that's pretty much what I was going for, and so glad you can feel it. And thanks for taking the time :).

Sorry for the delayed response, I've ben playing catch-up from the holidays, now playing catch-up with this thread since the 2nd LOL!

Hope you all are well!

That's a very wise idea not to play the mental game of trying to decide which one I like better, my ecig or cigarettes! I shouldn't go there since what you said about the cigarettes being the one I'm addicted to so they have the advantage right now! I think that since I think my Volt is already awesome I think it will even be better once I find some favorite flavors and forget what smoking exactly felt like so I wouldn't be able to compare them! And I believe what you said that as i rid my body of the 4000+ chemicals that cigarettes feed me things will get easier and better! Already it's so amazing to be able to just take a puff or two off my Volt and then just put it down for a while without wasting a cigarette as it burns down in an ashtray! It's so cool that I can just leave it anywhere without a risk of causing a fire or having to clean out nasty ashtrays! :)

Samplers are a good idea and also looking for juices of things I like to eat and drink! I bought peanut butter cup and cotton candy so I'm really excited to try those! I am curious as to what my reaction will be! :) Thank you for the ideas!

My admittedly not very experienced advice is to get the prefilled cartos from SI in every flavor that appeals to you. I think the sampler packs are a good bargain for trying out flavors. It's amazing the flavors I preferred to those I liked less. They were not at all what I would have anticipated. The prefilled cartos from SI are easy and work with your Volt battery very well, and there's no fuss, muss, or bother to filling them. Later, if you find a favorite flavor, you can refill a prefilled carto with it if it's the same or a compatible flavor. I'm not a sweets lover, necessarily, but I found chocolate to be a favorite. I plan to refill the choc. carto and maybe the mint and cappuchino cartos as well with choc. liquid, maybe even more flavors. I even liked watermelon a lot, not a flavor I'd have expected! So, my advice is to order the prefilled cartos, particularly the sampler packs, and figure out from them what you like. None tasted bad enough that I can't use them up and then maybe top them off with something else. They are all pretty good, though definitely I liked some better than others. Before getting the samplers, I tried to figure out which were the most popular flavors, so I could try them. It seems there are folks who like every flavor, from Desert Joe tot Cherry, but a lot liked 555 and Ry4. They are tobacco lavors, though, IMHO, RY4 tastes ore like pipe tobacco smells. I'm not as fond of it after vaping it some as I was when I started, which is why full carto of each is a good idea. Getting the sampler packs will prevent you from having bottles of liquid you don't like, and it'll give you a chance to try a wide variety of flavors at a nominal price.
