@lovemyhubby thanks for sharing a wonderful experience you had. So nice to hear positives!!
@kblush i too am excited for your first days into vaping, i know someone here mentioned using a carto(without) filler for drip tasting juices if you dont want to go through the hastle of ordering an attomizer( hopefully someone can chime in here) . Its been so long since i ordered an atty, i used to use ikenvape & madvapes. Then they stopped carrying my preferred ohms.... And i was guided somehow to SI. Again hopefully someone can jump in with the info you need.

Samplers are a good idea and also looking for juices of things I like to eat and drink! I bought peanut butter cup and cotton candy so I'm really excited to try those! I am curious as to what my reaction will be! :) Thank you for the ideas!

You might want to try Vixen Vapors. I really like them and they have good shipping too. :)

Wonderful!

but sorry about you having to be in the hospital :(

Well I just had a ventral hernia repair done on my abdomen and had a 3 day visit at the hospital. What I wanted to share was how awesome and receptive my hospital was to my vaping! I had a semi private room was shared with a woman with cancer At first I thought I would stealth vape the second day when I wasn't so out of it. So took a few puffs felt so good and satisfied. No comments no one saw. Heard one nurse say to another when she was leaving my room how it always smells so nice in my room. LOL so anyway had a chat with my roomie and showed her what it was. She was fascinated and being a senior had no idea about them and wished she had them when she was smoking. So anyway long story short I had my volt charging next to my laptop and the nurse asked me if that was some sort of USB flash drive. I said no actually it's a personal vapourizer she said oh I read about those devices are they good? I told her I was a pack a day smoker and since the day I got my liquid I have not picked up one single analog cigarette. She was impressed brought the rest of the staff. Told them it does have nicotine in it and they asked me to show them how it's used. I said well as long as I get a shot of morphine for the pain I'll show you everything you need to know! LOL so after my shot... I went into the anatomy of my KR808D-1 and the differences and how to fill the cartomizers etc. I took a few pufffs and they all sniffed the air. They were amazed. They said wow it's like you literally moisturized the air! I said yes! So they all left talking away and said you go ahead and enjoy yourself and congratulations on quitting smoking. Then the rest of the day I had a few nurses asking for places to go online to get a kit for themselves and their spouses. I felt so good about all of that and now that I am home I wanted to share. I think it's all about the approach and how receptive they are but I for one had a wonderful reception at Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ontario. Think the Volt's will be very popular here in Windsor ON Canada :) Wish I could get more just funds are low but thought I would share this with the smokeless image thread as their product made believers out of medical staff!

Here, there, everywhere!
Problem I had as a newbie was knowing what ohms to buy for cartos and atty's - still have trouble with it. That's why I just like my Volts with the cartos the go with them......like peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, sonny and cher (oh wait - they split up).

Didn't someone say something about dripping a little juice in the battery connection end of the carto to try flavors? That way you weren't filling the whole carto and wasting juice but could still get a good taste of it? SteelJan maybe?

Adrena is the one I believe that showed how to get the filler out to try dripping with a carto???

Well,

I started by (basically stealing) rides on horses at a farm/field about a mile or so from my house on Long Island, NY when I was about 10 or so. They were left out in large fields all summer, so I bought a bridle (my first homemade one failed miserably) and went there whenever I could (unbeknownst to my parents..who did find out later) My parent's couldn't afford a horse or even riding lessons for me..

Later on, my high school had a BOCES course that taught "The care and Training of the Thoroughbred" and I was fortunate enough to get in. They taught me alot and introduced me to Horse Racing, so I spent 12 or so years working with racehorse in many different aspects. My best aspect was Horse care (veterinary type stuff), and riding. After that I spent many years working at riding stables and training in Dresssage.

Currently, I don't own a horse...don't have the money, space or time anymore to properly care for one, though do miss them.

So, do you ride, have a horse, etc.? Let me know about your horse fandom, since iIm totally into horses!

I filled the carto using the condom method with the connector to the battery pointing down into the liquid. I used 23 drops and used almost every bit of it up. Then the filler still looked white so I just dripped another 3 drops onto the filler. In total I used 26 drops so I think it's full but the filler still looks white!
Don't go by the color of the filler or the number of drops - go by how slushy it looks after it's been sitting for awhile. Should look like, well, a Slushie! Some liquids will look darker in the bottle than in the carto too - just don't forget to shake the heck out of the bottle. If you're using the condom method, a capful is about 1 ml, which is what these things hold. I usually almost fill one, dunk the carto in, then drop a little bit more at the top to make it wet if I need to.

I filled my carto with a 6mg nicotine yummy tobacco flavor. On my first draw I knew that I loved vaping! It was just so cool but I wasn't satisfied because even though the flavor was great, it was like smoking an ultra light cigarette
I'm such a dork. I actually did calcs to figure this out:
4-6mg hits about the same as an ultra-light.
11-12 hits about the same as a light.
Anything higher, you'll have to experience to find your preference.

Hi! 24mg is a little strong, who knows maybe I will go down to 18mg! :) I am definitely getting a harsh feeling and a peppery taste and I don't know if it's cause because of my juices or the nicotine. Any thoughts?
I usually get that harsh peppery stuff when I go higher on the nic than I'm used to. So yeah, maybe try what Imagine said, and mix the 6 & 24 in a condom to get around 15. Then yeah, maybe step down to 18 on your next order.

Great! Sounds like it's working for you so far! :)

That is indeed a great perk (laying it down and not burning anything) :), and though I have not completely given up analogs, the digitals are truly so much better...
for SO many different reasons :)

And as far as flavors, I'm still searching for the perfect one, got into this in July/11, started with blue (not great) went to Halo G6 (great), but wound up here as SI is even better with their prices and color choices etc. etc. etc. Experimenting with different niquids is also alot of fun, I've found that for the most part, I prefer the ones that are extracted from tobacco...though there are a few exceptions to that rule for me LOL!

I've found many loves and an equal amount that I really hate. But keep in mind that the longer you vape and are off analogs, your taste buds change, and so will your vaping preferences.

Imagine gave good advice when saying to look for sample packs, or sample sizes (around 5ml) so you don't break the bank when experimenting. Also, keep looking for the sales. ECF has a forum for that, think it's in the PIF deals and steals thread(?), or simply search ecf for the coupon codes for the vender you want to order from.

That's a very wise idea not to play the mental game of trying to decide which one I like better, my ecig or cigarettes! I shouldn't go there since what you said about the cigarettes being the one I'm addicted to so they have the advantage right now! I think that since I think my Volt is already awesome I think it will even be better once I find some favorite flavors and forget what smoking exactly felt like so I wouldn't be able to compare them! And I believe what you said that as i rid my body of the 4000+ chemicals that cigarettes feed me things will get easier and better! Already it's so amazing to be able to just take a puff or two off my Volt and then just put it down for a while without wasting a cigarette as it burns down in an ashtray! It's so cool that I can just leave it anywhere without a risk of causing a fire or having to clean out nasty ashtrays! :)

exactly - I wouldn't add a whole 'nother learning curve just to try out a flavor. You don't have to throw the carto out if you don't like it - just rinse it out and let it dry.

Adrena is the one I believe that showed how to get the filler out to try dripping with a carto???
Credit where credit's due - I think that was rave. Back about 50,000 pages, she even posted pics on how to do it. Then you could just hang on to it and keep using the same one over and over.
Poor kblush - just relax and enjoy the ride! :)

Hi everyone! I will respond to messages that people kindly wrote to me tomorrow, but right now I'm exhausted! I have one important question though! All of a sudden I lost heat and vapor. Not really taste. How do I know if I need to change the battery or refill the carto?? Thank you to anyone who answers me! :)

That is indeed a great perk (laying it down and not burning anything) :)

And before if you dropped a cigarette you freaked out because it might burn something but now if you drop your Volt you freak out because you might lose your blinged out gorgeous new neon green battery!

Well good night all - supposed to snow tonight YIPPEE, but will need to leave a little earlier in the morn!

Have an awesome evening!

You'll know if the battery needs charging when it blinks at you, like 15 times. If it's not the battery, the carto needs a refill. Don't try to vape it to get every last drop of liquid in there. If you go too far, you'll get that dreaded burnt taste that may not come out when/if you clean the carto. Then you'll really have to toss it.

And speaking of cleaning, hey everybody - don't try to clean cartos with baking soda. It's OK at cleaning the crud off the thin metal wire, but I think it does something funky to the bundled silica fibers it's wrapped around. I did a whole batch, and have yet to find one that works right. I pulled a coil off one, and the fibers were still black, and all mushy.

Exactly. I'd be wondering what else I'm supposed to give up. I think he should have locked them both in the trunk of his car for an hour and see which one was happy to see him when he opened it.
   That's excellent!!!

You would've thought that the whole giant dog thang woulda been worked out beforehand. That just seems pretty low to me. But - There are a lot of folks in this part of the country that find dogs in the house to be offensive. Personally, I wouldn't want a dog if he couldn't spend his time with me. Mastiffs in particular really pine away if they can't be with "their pack".

And Sandy Su - I will definitely be watching for a connection. No only with me but with my son as well. 'Course, he's almost as much of a sucker for critters as I am.

Most Any 808 Atomizer will work on the volt, just don't use the LRs as they will kill the 808 battery faster.

Hi! :) Thank you for sharing my excitement! :) I decided to just stick with my 24mg nicotine juice for the next few days while I wait for an atomizer . I'm taking someone's advice to buy an atomizer and use it to taste my juices to see if I like them instead of wasting a lot of cartos! I don't want to use up my good Volt cartos on just giving some juices 1 taste and then getting rid of the carto if I don't like the juice! I can't afford it since I'm going to need them shortly when I choose my fave flavors and order them in 30ml bottles and 24mg nicotine. I have one problem though which I hope you or someone else can help me with! I need to have explained to me how to use an atomizer to taste juices! And if you just use one to taste juices do you need cartridges with it? Also, if someone could give me a link to where I could get the right type and size to go on my Volt I would appreciate it! Thank you!!!!!!!! :)

Thank you so much! My battery wasn't blinking so it's sure lasting a long time! :) I think I burned my carto. I taste a burned taste. I'm learning! :) I know what you're saying about not trying to get every last drop out of the carto but I didn't notice any change in vapor, taste or heat the whole time till it all stopped. I think I'll become more sensitive to know when to change it out as I get used to everything! :) Thank you so much for your help!! I'll respond to your other message tomorrow! :)

If you didn't go too far after it tasted burnt, try adding a little more liquid before you throw it out - might be save-able.

yep keep in mind the taste is just a dry atty...nothing happens to the fill unless u keep vaping after u get that taste.

Yeah that was me that show the step by step instructions on how to remove the carto material so that you can use the carto as an atomizer to test new nicquids. It was Post #9507 on this page. Click the link below:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/187974-official-smokelessimage-com-thread-238.html#post4337202

It's really not hard to do at all, but I would wait until you stumble across a flavor that you just don't like. It can be rinsed and reused over and over. Two drops or so dripped down the walls of the carto do the trick.

Then I pulled out my last hope bottle of juice! My emergency 30ml bottle of 24mg nicotine juice of Wowboy. On my first draw....holy cr*p!!!! What a hit!!!! That was gooood!!! I was so happy!

Another Wowboy fan :) That was the first flavor of cartos I bought when I started out, and the first juice. I started with 11 & 18 since I was an ultralight smoker. Worked out fine. Now I'm stepping down to 6 & 12.
Haven't bought any WB in several months now (addicted to 555 & RY4) but maybe it's time to revisit that. You know what they say - you always remember your first
