I just went to StattQualm's vendor list, scrolled down to Swiss dealers (since they're made there I figure they'd be the first to have stock available) and went to the first shop on the list. Might be worth working your way down the list, but as others mentioned, I'm sure VapeRev'll get them in any day now. I may have been better off waiting for them... but then again, I know they'll sell out in under a minute.

Ok, I need some help obviously. I'm not wicking well? It's either dry hits or starts leaking when it gets low on juice. To avoid dry hits I'm having to cover the air intake and take primer puffs [emoji35]

Here's tonight's build. 28g kanthal. 1.3 ohms. 3mm screwdriver. Coil is just above the top of the deck, bottom of coil is even with the bottoms of the channels on the W deck - no bending of the cotton wick. Wicking with KGD. This is my version of trimmed even to the edges of the W deck. Nothing intentionally going down the channels (though I've had better luck with that setup, thinner cotton tails going all the way down the side channels, but...)

Sorry for the large pictures, I did this quick and easy with my phone and imgur. This is top, sides, dry and wet.

Hrm I've had no success with the wick cut flush, I've found better results with a V shaped cut, my latest wick I've cut on an angle horizontally to thin out the part in the channel and that is keeping me off TP.. My coil sits up high though because I can't get the nickel coil to fit in the centre hole without mutilation. I havn't been building long though so still a bit hit and miss for me

I only got 0.32mm :(
Did i make a mistake??

My preference is .25mm because it keeps my coil size small, 6/7 spaced wraps fits perfectly in the W deck with room to spare. Currently I'm using .28mm 8/9 wraps, and it's working really well, I'm really enjoying the vape I'm getting from it. I shoot for .15ohms, which is my sweet spot. The biggest thing for me is keeping the coil away from the deck, if I don't then my resistance jumps around.

Luckily my 510 PIN hasn't given me any fits. But I think I added an extra o-ring around the 510 screw, if I'm remembering right. I wonder if Teflon tape wrapped around the screw would help keep it stable?

@Phone Guy - that looks just like the way I wick mine, other than my coil is completely in the deck. The top of my coil is flush with the top of the deck. But other than that, looks just like mine. Weird thing is tho, I've never had an issue with leaking or dry hits. But I've never used Kanthal in my Squape yet. I wouldn't think that would make that big of a difference though.

It doesn't look like your doing anything wrong. And that's got to be the frustrating part.

Don't apologize for large pictures, they make it easier to see what's going on :)
How tight is the cotton when pulling it through? My experience with the SQuape is, that it likes A LOT of cotton. As in, being able to pull it through without messing up your coil, but with a fair bit of resistance.
Apart from that, it looks pretty perfect on the pictures. But maybe a bit more cotton, to solve the leaking.
As for the dry hits: I dunno man, never really had that. I've had the "afterburner", due to not enough liquid/cotton to cool down the coil fast enough, which isn't the greatest of tastes either :p I don't know which air hole and what wattage you're using when you get the dry hits? For me, the sweet spot is the second largest hole, and I vape at 10 watts on mosts liquids.

The density and placement looks pretty good, I would try cutting the wick right to the edge of the deck. Here's my wick after 3 tanks with my unsweetened coffee adv. I needed to refill for work tomorrow anyway so a snapped a pic.

I use my red-handled wire cutters (hakko from amazon i think) to cut my SQR wicks right to the edge of the deck by holding the cutters vertically with the flat side flush against the side of the deck. Then I just re-fluff the ends and I don't worry about it anymore. The few times I have had issues with wicking it was always because my density was too low.

Replying without quoting...

Watts: I'm usually in the 12.5 to 15 watt area depending on the juice and my mood, occasionally higher but that's pretty rare and usually just to see what it tastes like at 17.5 to 20, again usually a few pulls...rare..

Density of wick: that's hard to type...I try to get enough in there to have some resistance, but not enough to move the coil or choke juice flow. I can try more cotton.

Coil placement: I can't get the coil flush with the top of the deck, when I try to push it down they tend to bend out of shape, but I can try that again tomorrow.

Air flow: I'm either on the second to largest or the largest one 99% of the time.

Thinner juices tend to leak out of the airflow especially when low (close to empty, needing a refill). When full I catch myself priming it regularly (holding air hole and puffing) than of course it floods occasionally, usually when I'm the most frustrated with it - of course.

The last few days / weeks have been very off Squape days. My kayfun 4 usually wicks like a champ, but I prefer the air flow of the Squape and usually the flavor too. I'm NOT giving up, but appreciate the advice.

May be liftijng the coil a bit higher? i never have my coil that low at all. its out of the channel.
Also how have you packed you cotton in the horizontal channels?gently place them dont shove them.

Most likely it will be something to do with the vertical channels. In my cases anyway...find cutting thr cotton exactly flush on the vertical channels works for me.

Good luck

When I first got mine, I built the coil so that it was above the deck with a 3.0 mm ID. Flavor was ok but not as good as my subtank. It wicked perfectly without any leaking at all. After a few days of use, the vapor will settle in the airflow section and turn into liquid again. It's not leaking, it's just the laws of physics. If I could get myself to pull all of the vapor out after I stop firing, I wouldn't have that issue. It's such a small amount of liquid that it doesn't matter. All it takes is a 20 second wipe down under the airflow ring.

Then I went with a 2.5 ID coil and reversed the direction of the coil. This allowed me to set the coil flush with the deck. Flavor improvement was very noticeable. Again, no leaking or dry hits no matter how I build our wick. I think that the condensation is what's getting everyone.

I use KGD cotton and I cut my wick twice as wide as my coil. My coil ID is 3mm so my wick is about 5 to 6mm wide. I remove one of the compressed outer layers of my cotton. I only twist the end to feed it through my coil. I don't compress or twist any other part of the cotton, it's fluffy. When I pull it through its tight. I usually need to spin the cotton in order to pull it through the coil. Once I have it placed, I'll pull it back and forth a few times and cut the wick at the end of the deck. It's does end up being slightly wider than the deck, but just slightly. I make sure the channel is completely filled with cotton without cramming or compressing the cotton in place. My cotton is fluffy and usually looks like a bow tie.

I refilled my tank last night (almost dry and no leaking) and noticed my cotton still looked like a bow tie when I removed my base from the tank. When I juice it up I don't squish my cotton down, I leave it fluffy. The only other thing is I never lift my coil above the deck.

I followed the setup from the beginning of this thread and it's always worked for me. It's frustrating it's not working for you because this thing is incredible.

I don't do compressed coils anymore like in the picture, they're spaced and set in the deck, but that's how I do my cotton every time. uploadfromtaptalk1428580138280.jpg
