I'm so sorry....this stuff is not cheap to replace. I'm still waiting on my bell cap and now I'm wondering if all glass is such a good idea. I love my nano and using it now, but I know a lot of people don't like not having some sort of window to see juice levels. But it is unbreakable.
You'll be fine! I just have bad luck!! Esp with all these new mods i been getting...unfortunately nothing i can do. I'm just going to wait can't spend another £26 on it even tho it looks stunning!
Also it poly not glass...
Thanks, now I'm paranoid. Where's me some wood. I will admit tho, the aluminum tank doesn't fell as solid as the stainless steel tank does. I prefer the heft of the original.
I agree, i have the black normal aluminium tank and still miss the heftyness of the ss! Shows quality...
Hi all, I really need some help with my Squape R. I received it today (authentic) with the W deck. I've done a dozen builds so far and I just can't seem to get it right.
The main problem is either dry hits or very little flavour. I've tried 2.5mm and 3mm coils, more and less cotton, higher coil, lower coil. Most of the time, its a cottony taste but not a dry hit. I thought maybe I'd put too much cotton in so have tried less, but get exactly the same result.
I know the cotton is ok as has worked fine in my Lemo previously - which leaked badly but tasted great!

I'm using 28g Kanthal, current coil is 3mm 1.2ohm with top slightly protruding over the deck. I've got the japanese cotton in the horizontal channels, some slightly higher than the deck and chopped off at the edge of the deck with none in the juice channels.

I am saturating the wicks before firing up.

I've attached some photos and hopefully somebody can tell me where I'm going wrong. I have noticed that I'm sometimes getting some liquid misting under the bottom of the tank by the 510 connector if that makes any difference.

The liquid I'm using works great in other tanks, just not this one at the moment. As its my first authentic and expensive RBA, I really want to nail this!

PS - having just submitted this post, I started with hardly any flavour, but am now getting dry hits.

Thanks in advance

Unsure but from the pics looks like you got too much cotton in the 1st pic.
2nd pic looks like it's shoved in the channels.

Did you clean it all when you got it? soap and water etc?

Wow, no dry burn? The juices I enjoy are coil gunkers. New coil every day or two? That might be a deal breaker for me.
I run some gunkers too. I can usually get a rewick without dry burning and then toss on the next rewick. But to be honest, this thing is so easy to build that it doesn't take much more time to throw in a new coil than it does to dry burn and then wick.

I won't dry burn any nickel. I tried in the beginning, but It gets funky and squishy. I don't know how else to explain it. I think keeping my temp below 450 helps with gunking.

I know others dry burn. Some hold it under cold running water when they do. I might try that sometime.

At least from the pics you posted, the coil looks to high. I keep my coil inside the deck, with the inside ID of the coil flush with the deck channel. I wrap around a 3mm rod, then lay the rod in the channel and tighten the leads. Then wick it. I don't raise the coil at all. I use a lot of cotton, it's firm in the coil but not packed.

I use KGD cotton, cut a pretty wide strip then peel off the outer layers on both sides, then i only twist the end. I don't roll or compress the whole piece and pull it through. It keeps it fluffy and wicks really well. In fact the Squape handles my thick juices better than my other tanks.

If it's leaking, the only thing I can think of is the channels are not full of cotton. If the coil is raised, I could see the cotton being lifted out of the channel and juice finding its way in. And if your getting dry hits, the cotton must be too compressed and not wicking properly.

I think once you have your wicking down, the flavor will come. I learned how to wick this thing from reading the first few pages of this thread.

I'm no expert, but this is what works for me. It's my favorite tank and that's including my K4 and several Russians and many others.

Thanks guys, I've given it a proper clean rather than the quick wipe around it originally had!
I've checked the o ring at the 510 pin and all looks good there but tightened it up a touch.
I've recoiled it a bit lower and used less cotton and so far there's a marked improvement. The flavour still isn't as strong as I'm used to from the lemo, but so far no dry hits and it tastes more like liquid than cotton! Will report back after some use.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Anyone else experience serious juice spitting from drip tip? I've been getting lots of juice flying up into my mouth.. Not sure why.

I've tried building with the coil low in the deck, high up above the deck, cutting the KDG even with the edge of the deck, and going down the side channels.

I will post a couple pictures later. I've been using the squape r almost exclusively for the past couple weeks, so today I tried the Erlkonigin and the kayfun 4. The erlkonigin just doesn't perform at the same level to me as either the kayfun 4 or the squape. The kayfun 4 is a nice tank, but I personally feel the squape wicks thicker juices better, but the kayfun 4 does deliver a great vape. I feel the squape does edge it out slightly...

I obviously build differently than you guys. Thin out the cotton that goes down the sides, so the top of the cotton on each side of the coil (on top) is fluffy but the cotton going down the sides is thinner, with the side channels having cotton in them, I don't get leaks. No cotton in the side = leaking...

I generally build a 3mm coil on the w deck, because that's the bit/screwdriver that best fits in the w deck.

Again I'll post some pictures later. Now I need to isolate the juice coming up from the deck out thru the drip tip. I'm assuming somehow/someway it's pooling around the air hole opening and the Force of drawing (puffing) is pulling the juice up and thru the drip tip. Otherwise my squape / coil has amazing aim to get it thru the air passage chimney all the way out on each draw... LOL

That's odd. I couldn't get it to spit eliquid through the drip tip if I tried.

That looks interesting. Anybody using that yet? Any improvements?

Don't think it's out just yet, but should be out shortly.

As for your build issues:
Haven't had issues with juice spitting myself. I believe it's usually a matter of over-saturated wick/coil (just my theory here, so forgive me if I'm wrong). That would leave me to believe, that maybe you're using too little cotton, especially combined with the statement that you get leaking, if you don't run the wick down in the vertical channels. That shouldn't be necessary.
I posted some pictures again a few posts back, hope you can use those for inspiration.

Okay, so I'm trying to wrap my head around a bottom fed Squape. Is this for real, and if so, what's the topper look like?

This would be perfect timing too, because Vapor Flask just released a limited number of Squonkers on their FB page yesterday with wide release in a few weeks.
Where is the link to the FB post about VF releasing limited numbers of squonkers?

It was posted to the Flask owners group yesterday. It was limited to 100. It was closed when I made it back to the page. If you're a member of the group, the posting is still there, it's just closed. It will be sold on their website in about 3 weeks.

If they use the same topper, it seems like a lot of wasted space. If they come out with a new bottom fed base, I wish they would come out with a smaller topper too. But that's just me.
