Just an update (for those that may not know).

As of now, GoodDog is going to stay on as mod for PIF. And Clumsy as well (as far as I know). Them, combined with myself, that leaves PIF with 3 moderators.
so if i read it correctly, gooddog is the mod and you and possibly clumsy are the co-mods?

much respect, bro!...takes a lot to realize when it may be too much....good luck as co-mod!:toast:

Ditto...

Some of us are choosing to keep the true meaning of PIF alive and continue on because if we don't continue on, the bad seeds win. I really am not understanding why a few people don't think the PIF thread isn't a "true" PIF!?!?! Have you looked at it lately?!?

the key there is lately...it seems that the true outpouring comes when there's been a recent upheaval in the group overall...and it shouldn't be that way...if you can deal with reading through all the posts...take a good look at it....theres an ebb and flow to it...and unfortunately the flow of goodwill and true helpfulness seems to come when there's been something else not so great happening...

I'm not sure how all that will work. If GD wants to step up as "Head mod", she's more than welcome to it. The group was xfer'd to me by Jules, and if noone has a major problem with that, I'm going to leave it that way just for simplicity (as in no more switches, I think it takes admin to do that or something, not sure of the mechanics).

I want to state this very clearly so everyone knows. I NEVER wanted head mod, I only offered to Jules to come on as a "I'll help relieve some load off you" sub mod. I didn't take over for power or anything like that. And the more I got to thinking about it, I started to think I may have bitten off more than I could chew, desire to help or not.

Simply put, unless anyone has valid reasoning to change things up, I have every intention of leaving them as is (except for maybe a few minor changes, reorganizing and whatnot).

And FYI, I hope no one takes this the wrong way. I'm not calling anyone out or trying to hurt anyone's feelings. I'm sure some people already know I'm as blunt as it gets, sometimes to a fault :)

but still, no matter what is happening, it's someone taking something and then offering something up, why is that not PIF? I, for one, have VERY little, I am still new to vaping, and without this place I would have one juice, a gross marb flavored one.

I think if GoodDog wants to step up to head mod, she should man the group side. Would only make sense.

I can respect what you're saying...
here's how I look at it though... you have also have a bunch of people that have quite a bit and alot of that swapping isn't nessicarily need based, and people who don't have anything that feel guilty about taking the offer because they really don't have anything to offer..
but there's the need and want and swap threads...so you're new and say hey I'd like to try X, I'm new and don't know if I'd like it or x just isnt cutting it for me...well here I sit with extra of this or that..and I offer it to you, no expectations whatsoever...except maybe the faith that at some time somewhere down the line maybe not even this month that you'll have an extra something and see someone in need and pass that along again with no expectations...
So, which is more in the spirit of PIF....(I tell you I've got 2 or 3 510 PTs...at least 4 extra batteries...one or two juices that I can spare 6ml here or there...all I need to see is somone honestly ask or say hey I hit a rough patch and I need something).. I suppose it comes from seeing threads like there were before this group existed (and a few since it started) that wree "hey tell me your story and why you need" and gave away stuff without asking anything in return ...there was a thread on here that was like that where an individual chose 6 of the replies and bought those 6 people any mod they wanted..thelook did the same with a kit she got to revies and after the review sat in a drawer unused...so again a tell me why you need this and it's yours thread...That to me is what PIF should be...

Yes, I understand that, but those things are still happening and I don't believe they will stop. The PIF thread should still be intact though, it is a great way to try different things when someone throws a little lot of stuff together and you want to try one. Maybe you'll like the other items included but never thought to try them?!? I don't know, I still think the PIF thread is VERY important, and I wouldn't be here if it weren't for that thread.

Drozd I respectfully ask this.....do you really not think that some of the neediest go without when it is required that they self identify, and state their need for all to see. MANY have much too much pride for that. But to participate where the simple act of giving is enough might not be so disrupting to their self image.

I think to assume you need to further protect those lucky enough to be able to give, while making the needy wear a star to identify themselves is a little ......um.....maybe not what selfless giving is really about? If you are not comfortable giving, you should not give. If you are it shouldnt have requirements that someone humble themselves before you.

Been on both sides of this road myself......haven't you?

quite frankly that thread introduced me to a whole new world, without it PIF wouldn't even exist. Why would anybody try to kill it or rename it I see PIF on it everyday! sorry Drozd I have to disagree with you on this one!

A lot goes on behind the scenes that doesn't need to be brought to the attention of the members. I agree that someone in need shouldn't have to post for the world to see and lose what little dignity they may have left.

These are issues the new moderation team can discuss and do what is best for the continuing spirit of the PIF forum. It may not always be perfect but if it's done with love and from the heart it will be right most of the time.

I'm getting ready for work and just wanted to post something before i left.

I'm sure everyone here has the best interests of the group in their thoughts and idea's.

I want to say this...and whoever wants to chime in or disagree, or be mad, im sorry.

I think the group as a whole should decide on who the leader is...the co monitors, all of that.

I didnt agree with the group just being handed over to the first person that agreed.

That's why i said no when asked. And..im all over the place on the forum, i dont like being confined to one group..im a wanderer :p

I say the group decides who the monitors are....thats my say.

I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings or say anything bad about anyone here. I think everyone here is great and everyone that i've had dealings with has been wonderful to me and I basically like everyone here.

I just think the dynamics of this group would be more settled if people had a say so of the goings on.

My 2 cents....

I understand what you're saying, and please excuse this quick post as I have to leave and take the kids to their grandmothers...but I felt this warranted a timely reply, so you don't think I'm trivializing your response.

...it doesnt have to be public post...it could be via PM...
To me idealy there'd be some sort of repository of stuff...and through public post of private PM those things could be given to those that need it from the group, but that's an unlikely pipe dream...
what I have issue with is that where the spirit of PIF is that somewhere down the line you PIF when you can and give when you can...in the thread you're restricted to 10min to make an offer...often the trades are not between those that actually have a need....or people that hold the stuff until they see an offer that they want...how is that representative of the nature and spirit of PIF...and I do understand the pride thing and that people shouldn't have to humble themselves or be labeled in any way....it's a thin line to walk..I'd like to give the extra stuff that I have..but without conditions (just the hope and faith that somewhere down the line that person remembers it and does the same)....but it should go to someone who needs it or is new and just starting out or bought a model that doesnt work for them...and not to someone who just wants to try something new
