And if you veterans could recommend a battery tester too?? A vape shop that I visited over the weekend had this tubular shaped device with an LED screen that they used to check the volts on my batteries while my batteries were in my Reo.

It looked very similar to this...

High Quality Variable Voltage Tester 510 Ego Vape Volt Meter E Cig Ohm Meter - Buy E Cig Ohm Meter,Voltage Tester,510 Ego Vape Product on Alibaba.com

I don't pay that much attention anymore. I know a lot of people change at half a bottle, so you're in the ball park for that ohm coil. We are talking optimal level here, you will notice a drop off before you get to low. To low just shorten the life of the battery but is not dangerous.

If you think you need to squonk but just did, changed the battery, you're probably at 3.5 or lower.

Thanks everyone for all the answers! And ok, I lied, because I just thought of TWO more questions! LOL

(1) I don't have an ohm meter. What's the lowest ohms a Provari can read? I can always get a meter if I really need to.

(2) I don't know if I should I get a mini or a grande. I already have (4) AW IMR 18490 batts for the Provari, so that would cover the mini. I have (3) Samsung ICR 18650-26F batts (flat top) that I used when I had a SID. Would those work in a grande, and ARE THEY SAFE?

I know I'll be getting a REO, just want to cover all bases, so I won't go uh-oh. And I don't want anything to explode the side of my face off.

Having never owned a Provari, I *think* it will read down to 1 ohm, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I would strongly suggest you get an ohm meter, that will not only let you test the resistance of your coils, but check for shorts, and is also useful for trouble shooting all sorts of electrical problems, and test your batteries. Here's one at RTDVapor.

I would base what you get (mini or grand) based on how much ejuice you vape in a given day. If you're well under 3 ml, OR you don't mind carrying a few extra bottles with you, go with the mini. If you vape at or above 3ml, and or don't want to have to carry any "spares", I'd suggest the grand. It will hold a full 6ml, and I find the battery lasts me easily 24 hours (with sleeping in there somewhere).

Batteries should be chosen with safety in mind, I'm not familiar with the Samsungs, but AW IMRs are the recommended battery. Quite a while after that recommendation, several newer batteries hit the market, that are as good or better. I'm using Sony VTC5's. They have a 30a discharge capability, and are rated at 2600 mAH. Again, RTDVapor. (I just checked and they are out of stock, but those can be found many other places as well).

I've been using a Pila charger for years, I find them quite well made and they always seem to charge the batteries perfectly.

Don't know if I linked this already, but here is a chart of various coil resistances based on gauge of wire, diameter around which it's wrapped and number of wraps. You can figure the watts using any of the online calculators, but I'd suggest just start with the resistance you're used to, then adjust from there, by adding or subtracting 1 or 2 wraps.

I would not use your Provari as on ohm meter for your coil builds if you will be using the RM2. I don't know for sure that it was the RM2 or if it was the 28g or 30g kanthal I was using but my Provari's readings on my coils were way off, by 1.8 ohms kind of off. You can find an ohm meter on RTD Vapor for $16, well worth the peace of mind.

The provari only reads to the tenths also, so it will round up or down to the tenth.

I don't use an ohm meter. You can use a multi meter to check your build, battery level and if ever needed track down and isolate a short. A Reo without a battery makes a dandy atty holder when building :p

I was thinking along the lines of a multimeter myself, as my husband has several already. That was going to be my next question (after I've already pledged not to ask any more, lol!) Thanks, Mrs C.

Now, I have to sort through STYLES, no less. Buying a house is easier than this. :D

Process of elimination first, I think I don't want the LP type. ?

I thought I was just going to choose between the Grand and the mini, but...SL, what is the difference in the super light and the regular? GADS, I'm confuuuuuuuuused! Oh wait! I get it--the SL has the cut-outs in the panel.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

You might want an LP style. I feel the only reason not to get an LP style is if you are going to be a heavy user of Cartos or standard Atties that need the drip well. BF RBAs gain no advantage from the drip well and the drip well limits you to only using 14mm or smaller diameter RBAs.

Gee, I don't have any experience with cartos, and the only dripping atty I've ever used is a 510 bridgeless to test flavors.

I was going to get the RM2 unless someone points me in another direction. Does the RM2 work on the LP style (if so, I must have misread, because I got the impression it didn't).

Truthfully, I'm really looking forward to ditching the tanks and being able to switch out a wick without a big hassle. But I want to know that when I order the stuff, that's the stuff I really want. And I couldn't do that without all the great help here. Keep up the advice, 'cause I need all the help I can get.

Look for the LP Reomizer. It is a RM2 that has not been milled down. It is what you want on a LP Grand or LP mini 2.1

Thank you for the clarification. Ahhhh, I have to think again. Just read another post here somewhere about someone being concerned about metals in atomizers, brass particularly. I thought the atomizer was SS, but on the site: "It is made of brass and is nickel plated".

Again, I'll have to mull this over.
