So i purchased a mini genesis style rba a month or two back and it was ok. Nothing i was going to use very much just neat to have.

Yesterday i received a aga-t+, drilled it out to 1/8", and used the drill bit method of coil wrapping.

Ok... so i take back all those silent words of how all of you that praise the rba must be nuts. At 1.7ohm and 5v I am i loving this thing. Vapor is crazy good and throat hit is deadly awesome.

So far the only problem i'm having is the hole in the center of the wick is to large and i can almost pour liquid out of it if i tilt it past 90. I brought home some 500 mesh to make a new wick tonight and see how it works out with a smaller hole in a loose wick.

Thanks once again ECF for the loads of info. :toast:

Getting the thickness of the wick, and the size of the hole in the center of the wick, the way you want, is a matter of personal preference. Some folks like solid wicks, with a minimal, or no hole at all. Some folks roll loose wicks, with a large center hole. You have to experiment, and see what suits you. One thing you can do, if you're otherwise happy with the one you have, is pinch the top closed. It will eliminate juice pouring out of it.

Ill have to try this out... im having trouble rolling my wick tight!

I'm not into burning the skin off my fingers trying to see how much mesh I can crush into a wick hole. Just rolling it reasonably tight will work fine. This is where the experimentation comes in. Make sure you roll in just one direction. It's kinda like rolling up a rug. If you roll back and forth, you don't get anywhere. You just keep tightening and loosening.

This. I usually start it with a paperclip inside, rolling it all the way up in one direction. Once I have the basic roll down, I take the paperclip out and just go over the wick lightly with a lighter to cleanse it...then I roll it tight enough to slide inside the hole without much resistance. I then burn the top where the coil will be (again with just a bic lighter) until it gets charred (not oxidizing it, just charring) and slip it into the coil I rolled before hand.

I have kind of an unusual method. After I have my wick rolled to the proper size to slide into the coil, I use my cordless drill. The part that goes down into the tank, which I'm leaving unoxidized, goes into the drill chuck. The only part that sticks out is the part I'm going to oxidize. I snug the chuck up, just enough to hold the wick. I run the drill, at medium low speed, and torch the wick while it's rotating. I just torch once. Then, with the drill off, I juice burn the part I torched, with PG. 3 juice burns, and it's done.

f you put it in a Dremel you might be able to get it going 30,000 give or take a couple RPM.
Couldn't control myself I guess.
