Forgive the Dr. Suess reference. lol So, I may just be one of those people who just has to test the limits, but I have been vaping everywhere I go lately, just to see if anyone balks. Not hiding, but not flaunting, either. Casual-like, you know.

The list, so far:

Gas Station, in line waiting to buy analogs.
Grocery Store, throughout the cart-filling and in line.
Trader Joe's, while trying to find the Melatonin for my daughter.
Doctor's waiting room, after he was running over an hour late and the want for nicotine had turned to need--now.

So far, I got a dirty look and explained myself in Trader Joe's and got an odd look at the gas station. That's it.

What about you?

If people are freaking out about someone vaping in the cashier's line at the grocery store, they should think back to as late as the early-1990's when smoking analogs was still permitted in a few supermarkets.

The only place where I would NEVER vape is at a gas pump because that for sure would cause a riot. I get very nervous whenever I see someone smoking an analog while pumping gas. I tend to get out of there as soon as possible.

I've vaped in an elevator by myself and one time with other people who didn't seem to mind.

I vape everywhere except in "no smoking" areas. I know, technically its not really smoking, but I do attempt to abide by certain laws and restrictions. I work at a hospital that forbids tobacco products, again technically vaping is not a tobacco product, but I'm not going to openly vape in front of security or supervisors who don't understand the facts.

Having said that, I've vaped in Walmart, the grocery, concerts, festivals, the cinema, everywhere. I'm discrete, if indoors I will find a lonely isle to take a couple of toots. If outdoors, there's no limits. I passed through security at a Bengals scimmage with a lanyarded BB around my neck and a silver bullet in my hand, the security guard to a quick look at them and waved me thru the gate.

I've vaped in the Airport! Get this, I was sitting in the airport for 2 hours and really needed a vape, so I went up to one of the people manning the gates and said, "I have an electronic cigarette, is it ok to use this in here?". She then points to the room next to the gate and says, "you know there's a real smoking room right there...", I just looked at her completely bewildered, and told her, yeaa, I'm trying to stay away from that. Then she looked at me and started asking me if they actually worked, which was kind of cool that I got to spread some info. But nothing is better than stealth vaping at an airport. People were looking at me kind of weird, and I kept waiting for someone to come up and say something, but nothing. Never once got questioned for flying with juice or egos. Proudest. Moment. Vaping.

I don't vape much in public, except at work. I work at a car dealership and there are only 4 of us that vape. We made an agreement with the owner that if he would allow us to vape in the tech and detail shop, we wouldn't vape on the showroom. He agreed to it. Funny thing is, that I sometimes vape outside with the smokers. Just an old habit since I have worked there for 16 years, and have been vaping for a little over a year now.

As far as anywhere else, I am so used to the smoking ban in most places (we still have a few smoking places left in the county I live in) that I just don't even think about vaping. Besides, it's just like when I used to smoke. If I am at Wallyworld or someone place else that doesn't allow smoking, I can wait an hour or so before the vape crave hits.

That's how I feel. I vape to get away from "real" smoke... why should I have to go stand with the smokers?

I thought I would be the same, but so far (and I know I'm new) I haven't found a vapor that gives me the satisfaction that lasts as long as an analog did, so I have the urge to vape more often than I felt the need to smoke.

I vape everywhere openly and don't even try to hide it. I have never had a cross word or even had anyone tell me I couldn't even in places where it's not legal like king county Washington where I am now I vape in Walmart the docs office jack in the box, when people stare I use it as a education op. and explain it all and haven't ever had anyone not be supportive. Happy vaping

What blew my mind is she actually followed that up with, you can have a real cigarette there. Ugh

My favorite is doing that by the gas pumps :)

Ill vape in the Grocery Store in an aisle with no one in it or no one who is near me.

That and I usually vape outside or in designated SMOKING locations.

Just don't like stepping on toes.

I vape a lot and I smoked a lot but I follow CASAA's suggestion of asking before vaping. I'm a heavy vaper and was a heavy smoker but can get through a doctor or dentist appt without thinking about it. I can go shopping or whatever. Like someone said a few days ago in an identical thread, we're not helping the cause by 'I vape anywhere I want.' The cig ban will hit us sooner than later if every vaper keeps pushing it. Just my opinion.
