I'm a long time smoker and was just introduced to vaping. A good friend of mine got me hooked on it. So I ended up buying a e cig from a gas station to get started. The model I got was called a mistic. Id like a higher quality model. I've been looking online and found several better models. The ones I've been looking at so far is the Apollo standard kit and the modern vapor kits (not sure what the differences are between the side shows and the 902 line). So I'm looking for some insight as to what model to purchase. I'm not limited to these two brands either , it just seems they have some very nice stuff. A PCC is a must as well.

Thanks for reading and look forward to your comments

If your heart is set on an e-cig that's about the size of a cigarette, there is no better one than the Volt by Smokelessimage.com

I normally suggest avoiding mini-cig types of e-cigs. They all have limitations imposed by the small battery and no manufacturer can get around the laws of physics and chemistry.

The rule of thumb is: The more it looks like a cigarette, the worse it performs. But for a small e-cig, you can't do better than a Volt. The 78mm battery is 320mah and should last abuot 3 hours. They have kits with PCCs available. They use standard Kanger horizontal coil cartridges that you can fill yourself if you find a juice you particularly like.

Right now, they're having a Fathers' day sale for 25% off. Their prices are already lower than the few identical units on the market, so that's a great deal. You need a discount code, which I don't know off the top of my head, but someone will be around shortly who does.

Don't even take another look at Apollo. They're a great company and have some really good products, like the Vtube, but nobody can touch the Volt for a cigarette sized e-cig. If you don't mind something larger, about the size of a Sharpie market, the kGo is 1100mah and will last you pretty much all day. So a PCC is unnecessary. You can see the kGo here: KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

sounds great, any one have the code and anyone else have input on the matter

If you start another thread and ask for it, someone will respond. I just saw it yesterday, but I can't remember what it was.
Or, you can check the Smokeless Image forum in the vedors section. I would imagine it's posted there.

EDIT: Sorry, that 25% off sale ended Friday midnight. There are 2 other coupons available at this page for 10% and 15% off. One of the two should still be valid.

lotsoffish does have a pretty good point;
the volt is great place to start it is what i started with; however all the gear for the volt was not compatible with the provari that ended up as my final PV. yes you can get adapters to make 808d stuff work on it but its just not the same as having all 510 connection stuff from the start. there is a ton more stuff for the 510 connection and it is more readily available then the 808d stuff is. it is worth considering.

sailorman is right.. go with that KGO. If you get another skinny one, you're just going to be upgrading again.. look at my signature, I've been all over the place but I love my KGOs. They're the perfect upgrade to those skinny ones and with 510 threads there are endless possibilities with it. Another good option is the Ego Twist.. it's variable voltage and a pretty darn inexpensive vv.

Boy, I just don't know why anyone would want to be a kGo any more now that the variable voltage Joyetech Twist has come out. Unless they all suddenly start self-destructing, they seem like a no-brainer choice for an eGo-sized battery.

Stepping up from the Twist in overall size, battery life, and features, I'd say the "usual uspects" are the ProVari V2, the Buzz Pro 2, the Apollo stainless steel VTube, the Smoktech VMax, or that other class of animal, the Reo family.

If you're keen on a ciggie look-alike, then dittos on the Volt.

The Twist isn't all that open & shut and sometimes it pays to look beyond the obvious. The size difference between the Twist and kGo can be a huge consideration. A 650mah twist is the size of an 1100mah kGo. A 1000mah Twist is just huge and two of them would cost as much as a Vtube, which is no bigger but has twice the capacity. A 650mah Twist can be expected to last about 3-3.5 hours between charges. The same size kGo is 1100mah and lasts 10 hours. You also NEED to buy 2 Twists, plus a charger. So, the price of 1300mah worth of Twists ends up being more than 2200mah worth of kgo and as much as a Vtube mini. The Twist will die an earlier death than a kGo as well, just by virtue of its battery size and the fact that it's being subjected to higher current draws. Putting aside the factor of current draw, the Twists 650mah size indicates a lifespan some 40% shorter than the kGo.

So, it's not the no-brainer some would make it out to be. Consider, physical size, capacity, price and lifespan into the decision, not just the bells and whistles of VV. If VV were the only consideration, nobody would ever buy a Silver Bullet.
