Sounds to me like your coil connections are not tight.
When the resistance reading does a happy dance it's time to get out the screwdriver. When everything is tight, you should be able to flick the termanels with your finger tip without the resistance changing.

yea the resistance was fluctuating way to easy, even with a pull on the mouth piece it would drop like 0.03 :S just scrapped it and re doing the build, going for signle coil then working my way up.

Not to insult you, but are you sure you know what you're doing with that thing? Frankly, if you can't tell us what amp draw you're pulling from your batteries or the precise kinds of batteries you have (or, that you're not asking this question in the rda section), you probably shouldn't be messing around with sub-ohm. Depending on your battery, .3ish ohms could be a downright dangerous situation.

Please read (at least!) this if you're not sure. You can have serious safety issues if you just willy-nilly about a mech, an RDA and a sub ohm build, and by the sounds of it, you could be putting a battery "bomb" near your face. I just want you to be safe. I would definitely encourage you to get good at building 1+ ohm coils before you even start messing around with sub ohm.

Sorry to be a hard on you, but if people get hurt doing this, it's going to cause serious problems for all of us.

btw if you look up the thread I stated the exact batteries I was using and the amps they put out ;D but das ok, I miss some posts sometimes too :D

I think the sub ohm stuff just makes a lot of clouds. I don't like the heat and the flavored are off. I watched a lot of different videos on differnt coil builds and have 1.5 ohm builds that will match a lot of sub ohm stuff but the flavor is better IMO. I am currently vamping a 3ohm dragon coil and it is great on flavor and decent on volume - was going to be a 1.5 build but popped a coil and was in a hurry so ended running it as a single. People couldn't believe I was getting that performance from a single setup with hinge resistance.

most likely 99.9% of the hand held DVOM's only read down to XXX.X ohms, only 1 decimal point. The ohm meters designed for our use ( the ones you screw the atty onto) are X.XX ohms 2 decimals.. but I seriously wonder about their accuracy... Even the cheapest Bench style meters which only go back 3 decimals (5/3 XXXXX.XXX) are expensive... 300$+.
If you want to see some REAL meters check out Agilent Meters.

So, after 20+builds I finally created two that are a 4/5 wrap with 25gkanthal and 3mm silica wick staying at a soild 0.81 ohms. CLOUD CHASING LIKE A BOSS. Thanks for the help everyone and psshaw to the haters, EVERYONE started out like a noob (unless your an electrician or REALLY know your stuff about ohms law) so I want to thank the people that were not as against me doing an RDA. BTW heres my set up

k-100 silver mod + nimbus clone + Sony 18650 1600mah 3.7v battery...=my ambrosia :D

If you want a real hard precision best imo is to grab a high quality digital multimeter. With that you can just measure not only resistance but also voltage output on your gear.

Or REALLY have the common sense to think 'battery safety' BEFORE building something that could detonate and turn your eyes into two useless body parts. Chase those clouds........... now you're a 'pro'; hopefully nobody gets 'help' from you in the days to come. Too many "LOL's" - not enough research before haphazardly "building".

I'm sorry - but people who have no regard for their own safety, take these things SO lightly and mock those who have concerns for their well being simply tick me off. Catering to the ignorance is ridiculous.

Don .......... NOT so Senile at the moment!

Just curious. Why jump straight into sub ohming? Typically, you wanna learn to swim before you jump into the deep end.

thats how I was taught to swim... dad threw me into the deep end... guess I was a natural swimmer... Im still here and I taught Scuba for 8 years too...

Realize many posts and answers are from electricians, electrical engineers, physicists, electronics techs and other assorted nerds and geeks. Some posts may seem harsh, but it's a gut reaction....as if you see a toddler reaching to stick a paperclip into an electrical socket...

Many posters started in electronics when tubes were in vogue, transistors were somewhat new and IC chips were rare and expensive. The "knowledge" and what passes as "safe" practices that is gleaned from google or forums is often ummm, less than optimal...:)
I dare say all have experienced instantaneous arc welding from a short circuit many times over the years.

Stay safe and vape on....:vapor:

p.s. Ohm's Law is the tip of the iceberg...

Back in the day my "office" looked like this.

    mrc-108-09.jpg

So maybe I started out with a better understanding of ohm law than many, but that was back in the 60's, and things have changed since then. The batteries we use today in our PV's can do what Jeep was incapable of doing. So please don't take what these batteries are capable of doing lightly.

My alarm bells went off at the mention of "4-5 wrap of 25ga". That would suggest a ~0.3 ohm coil to me, and you want to run two of them!!!. Hell I using a 5-6 wrap of 32ga single coil. (2.2 ohms), and get a great vape. (without a cloud that I can't see out of)

Just picked up my first rebuildable, constructed a 4/3 wrap with 25g kanthal and 3mm silica wick dual coil. I think I built it nice but every time I adjust it in the slightest the ohms meter jumps from 1.1ohm, to 0.1 omhs :S D: don't want to blow myself up so can someone please advise me on what to do? should I restart the build?

Usually when your ohms are flickering like that indicates that your screws are not tight enough, crank down on the mounting screws and the reading should stabilize. The other possibility is that the coil is touching some where, the side of the atomizer, the bottom or maybe a post. Also make sure it is tight on the ohm reader, and check the center pin of the atty, some can be unscrewed or adjusted. The last item for consideration is, if it is flicking from say .58 to .57, your build could be .5758 and the ohm meter is just going back and forth between the two closest values.

Try Heating the coils up red hot pulsing with your mod, and squeeze the coils together, that is if you are using a micro coil, this will sometimes stabilize the build reading.

Just got back from the guys at CANVAPE and VAPELOFT at my local market, both tested it and said my build is fine and SAFE! and I really didn't want to post this here but im getting a lot of nasty PM's about me being a "noob"

I HAVE CANCER, THIS IS NOT A HOBBY FOR ME!!

I really really really didn't want to post this but I have no other choice, I need the asstance to learn how to vape safer and better and sorry if my posts come off sounding like I know what im doing (really don't but you gotta start somewhere). I have about another year to live before a love one is messaging an admin to remove my profile because I have passed away, this is life. Please be supportive in my time of sickness and

I can GARUNTEE!!! blowing off my hand from vape would be a walk in the park compared to my chemo treatment

please understand as well that as most of you might be 30-40+ I am only 25 and will not be able to live a full life so JUMPING into things is the only way I can do anything these days, or just don't do it at all, and id like to extended my life a tiny it if I can by vaping

pretty senile to think all people have the time to learn and become a 40+ year veteran in electronics as yourself, I have a year to live so maybe think before u post...I have no other choice but to rush into things...so yea....still gonna sub-ohm, still gonna vape hapy and not a thing u can do buttercup :) thanks for the hap hazard and very rude concerned response. all anyone had to do was post a link to this ub-forum and say plz read first have a nice day, didn't have to be mean, conceding elitist about it.....meany
