Different metals do play a minor role in atomizer resistance and may also play a role in the amount of battery voltage drop.

@Baditude I was thinking of this when replying to @Kittyntwinstarz Mod/Batteries Overheating, what effect does temperature have on resistance? IIRC, most common metals have a positive temperature coefficient i.e. the resistance rises when the substance is heated. Only a few substances have a negative TC, e.g. germanium, silicon, and special alloys.

Now that you brought it up on a vaping forum, $5 say the next trend will be vaping with Germanium coils. And only because we need more TC’s settings on our mods.

@Itsdrew93 , go to your settings you can remove them. Also, it's kinda not "your" thread it belongs to ECF and there may be a certain amount of chatter.

Consider yourself liked and that you generate "chatter" I mean, it's better than being politely ignored, trust me.

And if even in this very controlled, moderated environment you are having trouble, you don't want to go to reddit etc. trust me on this.

You can also unwatch "your thread" completely but you also never KNOW when idle chatter turns into THAT ONE PIECE of info you NEEDED but didn't even know to ask!! Seriously... It has happened..... to me, even.

No offense intended at all! I do mean that. (Along with the rest of it).

Sorry everyone didn’t realise how exactly this forum works lol crack on

No problem Drew, and good to see you're getting the hang of things around here. We're pretty laid back ... for the most part

Back on topic (for a bit anyway), if you are vaping in variable wattage mode or temperature control mode, you don't have to worry much about resistance. Your mod will have a resistance range it is designed to operate in, generally down to 0.05 ohms in TC and around 0.1 ohms in VW mode. If it goes under those numbers, even to the extent of a short (really low resistance), it will give a 'low resistance' or 'short' message. If that ever happens to you, stop immediately, fix the issue and you will be good to go.

If on the other hand you are vaping a mechanical mod, the resistance your battery sees determines the amps (and also the watts) drawn from the battery and that can get really dangerous if the resistance is too low, specially if you have a short. If you are using mechanical mods you really need to understand Ohm's law and what that means to the safety of your vape. For VW and TC vaping you set the watts or the temperature and the mod will give that to you if it can safely. You still need to have a battery that can safely put out those watts, but resistance is not a factor.

I had to chain vape from the frustration of figuring out how to turn off the emails.
Then later (and to this day) I have no idea how to tell others how to do it as I clicked on something somewhere but was so crosseyed, I do not remember what I did.

I have a 1.8 stated coil on a Rover X in a Nautilis X and it never reads under 1.9 ohms. Today I tried a tank with a 0.5 that read 0.67 and a tank with a 1.6 that reads 1.77.

My SX Mini SL reads pretty close to what the manufacturer says they are on each coil pack. Same with my Legend 100. The Kromas both read a little high, but not as high as the Rover.

When you choose to "watch" a thread, you have the choice of "alerts" or "e-mail alerts".
If you don't visit the thread through the e-mail alert, you will not receive any more notifications.
At the bottom of the e-mail there is a link to disable all alerts.
This is how it works on a PC.

I read this whole thread and I still haven't found out what rocket surgery is. Now I'll be up all night thinking about what it could be.
