I accidentally ordered an oil rather than a water soluble flavor (Lorann key lime). At the time I ordered it, it wasn't listed as an oil, it may be now but I haven't checked.

So... It smells pretty potent (so I think I could get away with just adding a small amount), but it doesn't mix with the liquid. I tried adding alcohol, but it still doesn't go in.

Is there any way to get this into solution, or should I just forget about it?

Spazzy, I'm not all that knowlegeable about this DIY stuff at present, but I don't think it'll ever go into solution correctly. I could be wrong though. I'm curious to see the answer from those "smarter" than I. :p

Well, I know that surfactants can be used as emulsifiers, but I don't know if something like that could be added to juice.

Yea, at that point I would think it's just getting to be too much of a pain and would consider sacrificing it...not to mention, do you really want to vape something that would emulsify it?

Dunno. There are food grade emulsifiers. Maybe I will just get some key lime from PA. It says it's okay with water. I really wanted some lime juice! Doh.

LOL...hope you get your lime fix! I have a couple of Key Lime Batter juices I got from a PIF. Pretty good stuff.

Have you got something that vibrates? A jewelry cleaner or aquarium pump?

It can get annoying, but setting your bottle on top of something like that for a few days can sometimes get oils to mix with the rest. I've had success with orange oil doing it that way. (it only takes a tiny bit of oil to really have a great taste sometimes)

Even TPA's lime, don't know about Key Lime, can take a bit to mix even though it is not an oil.

I will have to try that, thanks for the suggestion!. Here's what I did with the small 5 ml batch that I had made up. I put probably about 1 ml of vodka in and shook it up really well. I just went and checked on it, and it seems like some of it went into solution (the oil layer wasn't as thick). I took a pipette and sucked off the aqueous layer on bottom and transferred it to a new bottle. It still smells very limey, so it may work to give a decent flavor. I haven't tried it yet.

I did remember that I had won a small sample of lime from Vermillion River, so once I located that I was able to get my lime fix. When that runs out I will try my lime that I may or may not have rescued.

I'm replying to myself, lol. I just tried some of the lime that I made this way and it works pretty well. The vapor is a bit thin, probably because I added so much vodka, so next time I will start with a higher concentration of VG.

On the downside, I think I've decided that lime tastes kind of like vaping furniture polish.

I'd stay away from oil based liquids. Your lungs can't deal with oils and that can induce pneumonia or breathing difficulties.

There have been ER visit reports on ECF from vaping cinnamon oil based juices. Key Lime (Loranne) is not water soluble and probably contains oil. The chart below highlights juices that contain oil or sugar and other ingredients.

That would suck. Okay. I will not buy the LO ley lime again. Since it kind of tastes like Pledge, I think I will be okay with this.

I bought some VG Key Lime called Jimmy Puffit from Cignot that was their Basic line. I had no side effects from it and it was good juice. You might email and ask them about the ingredients and whether the "natural flavors" contain oil. I'm looking at the bottle right now.

Jimmy Puffit
Ingredients: Vegetable glycerin, distilled water, alcohol, natural flavors, 26% nicotine.

The alcohol could have been the catalyst that made the natural flavor dissolve into the mix.
