Normally normal to dry skin and hair, all my life but perfect. No complaints about it.

Just started getting greasy hair and a film of oil on my skin which I have never had.
I suddenly must wash my hair daily. Never did before. Went 2-3 days. It was always fine.
Finding i wash it and it feels clean as it should but within 20 hours it starts up again.

Was thinking if was perhaps something pre-menopausal. Or an over-used motorcycle helmet.
I figured it must be the helmet and was pricing a new one tonight ;)

But doing a search on it 20 mins ago it led me here and immediately i wondered if it was indeed a vaping issue.
Coud also be because I relapsed 6 months in due to frustration but I havent had a cig now in 6 weeks? So it sounds likely that it could be either my body ridding itself of toxins from cigs....or dehydration.

So reading 2-3 threads from 2010 I see many woman + some men commenting upon it.
The thread has since been locked, cant access.

So i suspect i just need to drink more water BUT i would be very curious if any of those original posters that had this problem, eventually had it disappear?

If so naturally? Did it just go away OR not? And if so did you increase your water and feel it was due to hydration as that can cause oil to overcompensate if you are dehydrated..

OR was it toxins coming out of your hair and skin?
( although i would think if so it would be all of your body, not just hair and face? )

I HONESTLY thought the last few days that i was not cleaning my hands well enough when transferring
juice into my tanks and was perhaps running my hands through my hair, with perhaps a light coat of PG/VG on it and that was the cause but now i see thats unlikely so curious to know IF IT WENT AWAY for may of those original posters?

I'm afraid I can't answer any of your questions because I have not had any of these symptoms or heard of anybody having them but an easy way to tell if you aren't drinking enough water is to check your pee. If it's bright yellow you are dehydrated. :p

I would hazard a guess and say it's your body ridding itself of toxins although menopause can cause all kinds of crazy things to a woman's body. If it continues for more than a couple of months it might be a good question for your doctor.

Maybe your body is just changing for some reason other than vaping. I've had somewhat oily skin and hair all my life, and that hasn't changed since I started vaping and quit smoking almost two years ago. My husband also has oily skin and hair. He quit smoking about 25-ish years ago and doesn't vape and still has oily skin and hair. Drives him nuts. He washes his face several times a day. He isn't dehydrated, either. He drinks lots of water, much more than I do, so I don't think oily skin has anything to do with dehydration.

When I stopped smoking, I did notice that my hair and nails started growing faster. Maybe, for you, just quitting cigarettes awakened something that was there all along and was just suppressed in some way by the effect of burning tobacco and/or tar. I don't know. ?

One good thing about oily skin---less wrinkles!
