Ok so, I bought an ego-c (knockoff), and an ego-w (f3 type) a few weeks ago. They are both 1100mah batteries. I bought the starter kits so there were two batts in each. The ego-w batts are the ones with the lcd readout screen with charge indicator and "puffs" meter.

Out of the four batteries three now refuse to fire the atomizers. I hit the buttons and they just blink five times. Ive gently cleaned the contacts, and since i recieved them ive known to not overtighten the threading when assembling them. I see no common thread in whats happening here but is there a way to fix it?

They werent exposed to water, liquid, or anything. I have used them interchangeably. For example, using my ego-c atty and tank on the lcd battery, my 510-t atty and tank on either. But everything is 510 threaded....

Looking for some help here. Im down to one working battery, and my elips as backups.

Yes ive tried different attys and even diff equipment altogether. There are also five blinks when the battery dies. The chargers are the same for both units and they work fine. yes the chargers are the exact same specs. ive checked that also. the batteries are charged fully. no voly meter in the house, wouldnt even know where to buy one but i highly doubt they are dead. ive tried charging them. the charger says they are fully charged. light goes from red to green in minutes.

when i fire the battery with no atomizer or equipment on it it doesnt blink five times. works as it should with the unit put together.

it leads me to believe that the seating of the battery post is too low. ive pried it up but to no avail.

is there something i can use as a spacer between the battery post and atomizer to see for sure?

it sounds like one of the wires is off on the inside connection, or wasn't soldered,,, you can very very carefully wiggle off the top metal connector piece from the Batt tube, and I mean very carefully,, once off you can look at the two wires where they connect to the board and Ground. This is a very gingerly operation, and worst case scenario if your stuck with the Batts and cant return them. Once apart you can see what is wrong and possibly set the wire connection back in place where it goes with a small solder job, make sure you tin the wire with solder. Only do this if you cant return them or you find there is something else that is the reason they where not working. I've rebuilt quite a few of these, there very cheaply put together and not the best of units.

Mwa, For three batteries of two different types to have that problem would be really odd but for smitz and giggles, cause I got nothin to lose I took one of each type and pried up the connector being careful not to rip the o ring or disconnect the wires by accident. They are all attached. So it was a good thought anyways.

Is there some kind of metal piece I can try between the battery pin top and the atomizer plate. I dont wanna blow myself up tho. Maybe even with prying those out they arent making contact still?

What OHM carto? If the OHMs are too low, they may blink like that. And not necessarily the OHMS you bought, often the OHMs will drop with use.

A multimeter is a vapers best friend! And having one will sort all these problems out, easily, or just keep swapping parts until you find the bad part- unfortunately, a bad carto/atty will kill every battery it touches.

Ditto X10 !!!! Without a multimeter, you don't know where you are. I've had 3.2 ohm attys drop to .3 ohm in a heartbeat which will cause your exact symptoms. As an aside, I resurrected 2 of 'em tonight by carefully burning off the short by pulsing a higher voltage until it was gone. All back to normal. Anyway, a shorted atty will definitely give you that kind of indication and will pop many, many circuit boards on the battery in a flash.

Great, a multimeter. Dont have one, wouldnt know where to find one, or how to use one. Dont even know what it is. Nor do I want to spend money on one because I have no idea what its for or what it does.

The battery post is the issue from what I can tell. Prying it up does not help. Again, is there something I can put between the plate on top of the battery post and the atomizer plate to help it make better contact?

I understand in some cases is may be a bad atty, in this case its not. Ive tried brand new pieces repeatedly and the same result with the battery and the chances of them all being bad are slkm to none.
