It all depends on the device your using. Cause there are several 18650 batteries but are totally different dimensions.

I personally only buy batteries from vendors. So buy at your own risk but check the tube dimensions first

I totally agree. A caliper is your friend when it comes to buying batts for mods. I use 14500s on my box mods and can tell you from experience that not all 14500s are created equal. No doubt the same is true for 18650s

These will be for a 2x18650 battery holder in a Wood Mod I'm going to make. I'm going to make a 2x18650 VV Box for home use.

Bit late in the day but totally agree with WillyB, there is some junk out there. To me it seems there's an inverse correlation between claimed capacity on cheap batteries and quality. In other words the more outlandish the claimed capacity, the worse they are likely to be. The Ultrafire 4000mah have been tested around 2000mah (but don't like high current draws). The GTL '5000mah' 18650's that you can get from eBay are total junk and actually are around 1000mah. Never heard of PaiSen before but they look like Ultrafires with a different name on them. The Xtar's are very good though.

If you're looking for cheaper ones I found these Samsung high drain 1500mah batteries good for the money (they are 65mm long, flat top) - SAMSUNG INR18650-15M 1500mAh 3.6V 18650 Li-ion Rechargeable Battery 2pcs | eBay
