Ok been in the kiddy pool for a month time to graduate :) Looking for some info on new batteries/mods

Beginning to think im gonna turn into one of you people with a signature of 30 devices under each post :p Lately ive been getting less throat hit on my 1100 Mah battery and on mothers battery which is a 650mah believe i get next to no throat hit. So im assuming that the bigger the battery the more power gets to the atomizer. Or maybe its just holds the power better in between charges and gives a consistently better vape...Either way my mum likes my larger battery so im thinking I'll upgrade and pass the old one on to her.

Looking for around a 1800mah battery maybe...If they exist done a bit of research but haven't explored to much. Also is VV worth it. Does it increase vapor production or is it not all that significant. Visually my favorite device i have come across is the IWand. Would love something that looks equally or more awesome. Although im not sure if that is adjustable VV or just automatically adjusts to the clearomizer resistance. Any advice ? Would like to keep using 510 thread as it seems to have good compatibility.

iWand - E-cigarette Shop

Would also consider some mods i just want something that has every eye on me at the pub/work :p Would be happy if i could get a battery around £30/$45. Obviously a mod will be more expencive but any advice either way. Or advice on what products to stay away from :)

Cheers,
JP

Variable Voltage (VV) is the way to go. I have 2 eGo C Twists (VV 900 mah) for my travel to / from work out and about battery. Yes, you can tune the voltage to help match up with the resistance of the atty. Yes, it will help produce more vapor and throat hit. Lower resistance needs less voltage but still produces good vapor, and higher resistance needs more voltage and still produces good vapor. Of course, you could go the route of an Advanced Personal Vapor (APV). I just ordered my first one yesterday, so I can't speak of them too much. Many APVs also have a Variable Wattage mode, but I'm flooding you with info.

Bottom Line: VV is where it's at for sure

Before you go for a larger battery, I have a couple basic questions and answers:

What resistance is your carto / clearo? You could try a lower resistance clearo / carto to see if that helps.

Are you still using the original carto / clearo that came with your kit / device? If so, it's time to replace the head (clearo) or the whole unit (carto).

JP,
Mate, you just described yourself into a Twist/spinner/winder.
It WILL give you more voltage...more voltage to your current AtomizerDevice, more watts, more watts more heat.
You din' mention what you are using or what resistance (Ω) you have nor what juice and nic strength.
But, the "MORE" is an easy next step with the Ego style VV.

Have fun
Good luck
I

Battery size doesn't affect TH as much as voltage/power does. Battery size determines length of time you can use it before a recharge is needed. For example- a 900mah spinner should technically perform the same as a 1300mah, as long as the voltage is the same/using the same delivery system.

That being said- the more I read through different APV threads/watch reviews/etc, I'm thinking about purchasing a VW device soon, most likely a Vamo V2 or Segeli Zmax

exhalevapors has the sigelei zmax telescoping for 64 bucks, great mod with many battery options. Fasttech for the batteries and charger, get 2 panasonic ncr18650pd's for 15 bucks or 2 panasonic cgr18650ch's for 10 bucks. For a charger get either the nitecore I2 for a 2-bay charger or the nitecore I4 for a 4-bay charger, the I2 is 14 bucks and the I4 is 19 bucks. For fasttech the coupon code is CPASTE13SPRING for 10% off.

Not sure about resistance but pretty sure its your standard ce4 clearomiser. I got 2 clearomizers with the kit and am now using the second....Lasting about 2 weeks at this point for me. I actually cant remember if i was getting more vapor at the start or whether i was just so taken back by the am mount of vapor compared to my e-lite. Have ordered another 5 so will find out soon if that is the problem. Pretty sure the batt is a generic knock off of an ego 1100mah battery but cant be sure, it operated on ego threads and says the input volts from the charger are 4.2....Not sure what power it actually supplies to the clearomizer though...probably 3.7.

For everyone else thanks for all the advice......Still haven't decided what im getting but after reviewing all the devices i have to say ive fallen inlove with the Vamo and the Itaste. Prefer the look of the Itaste but its voltage range is a little lower than the vamo so not sure yet.

While im on the topic what is the best thing to use for getting maximum vapor ? Is it a clearomizer or cartomizer ? And do different makes like the Ce2, Ce4 and the viva nova for example produce much different vapor or is it all in the same area ?

As always thanks for the info :)

I don't have a vivi, but the EVODs I have recently purchased are way better than the CE4s that came with my kit.

The knock-off (clone) eGo batteries usually operate around 3.7v fully charged, where the authentic JoyeTech operate at a regulated ~3.3v output. If you like the form factor of the eGo batteries, I would say go with an eGo Twist, Vision Spinner, Smoktech Winder (all easy to use VV batteries). Otherwise, if you like the idea of a larger device with replaceable batteries, the suggestions others have made are all worth considering.

I don't have a vivi, but the EVODs I have recently purchased are way better than the CE4s that came with my kit.

I would also recommend the EVOD clearos over the CE4 / CE5 designs. I've tried a good number of clearos and the EVODs have the best performance and they're incredibly easy to maintain. The coils are about $6 for a five pack, so it's cost effective as well. The only downside to the EVODs that I've found is the capacity, but if you carry a few of them, that's not much of an issue either.
