Ok. I think I have made a mistake. The mod is very good but I feel that the gold plating is (as others put it) a bit garish.
It only works with my black drippers and otherwise looks a bit wonky. I'm thinking of sending this mod to a company and getting it plated again! In white gold, or platinum this time.
What do you think. Stupid idea or...

I just ordered my 4th Gus mod today and they are amazing mods, but yours IS a bit over the top. Gorgeous and looks incredibly made, but too blingy IMO, but that's just me.

I would personally either sell it, keep it as a cool collector piece or just use it at home.

I wouldn't have it refinished in any case.

I know exactly how you feel.
Gold plating is beautiful, and if this were solid gold and cost thousands of dollars it still would not be something I would feel is "me"

Unless you have the atomizer plated at the same time and made of the same base material, it will never match either.

Ive always loved the look of silver, titanium, and any of the grey/black tones.

If this were me and could afford anything , I would send it off to be "antiqued" Id leave the gold base, but have it "rubbed" with something black or dark grey so it would look less "gold"

With the "koi" scales it would look awesome and you could go with SS or black for an atty, even brass bits.

But then again, it would look gorgeous BLACK semi matte.

I think it looks great AS IS. Unique. It doesn't look like "office equipment" which is what most stuff looks like.

Why go all "matchy-matchy" anyway.

Vape gear are tools to me, so if it works great, feels good in hand, and gets the job done.......it's "personality" can be any kind. :)

(Gold wedding bands are popular because.....they go with everything.)

Buy more black drippers?

Yeah. I thought that. Then thought that's more money wasted cos I'm loving the kayfun lite, phenomenon kinda draw atm. It was an expensive mod but I feel better knowing this is a teeny drop in the ocean compared with that beautiful solid silver caravela. Over $4000!!!
I might get this plate removed and get a respected company here to just remove the plate and have a brushed finish. Polish it all up and at least use it.
I'll save up and get something fancy for the collection.
