ok, does using less VG make more vapor, than adding alot of VG?

being able to explain things clearly really is a skill, and an undervalued one. ;)

Kurt is the smartest man I know! HIGHLY intelligent, very wise, and extremely skilled on many levels, and in many areas. .Yet at the same time, he is able to explain it in layman's terms, so it is easier for others to understand and learn. I've learned ALOT from talking to him, in the short time I've known him..

I met a few others on the forum that are also extremely intelligent, BUT, when asked a question, they speak in another language and talk right over my head, as if I have the same knowledge and same level of understanding they have in the subject. I end up even more confused, than before I asked. .

OMG, Michelle, you are too kind! You're making me blush! This whole ECF/vaping thing is a new experience for me. It is all chemistry and really is so much fun to do the DIY stuff, and try to understand all the details of these devices and the liquids. This looks to me like a combination of too things. Yes, I do know a lot of chemistry, science, and other things too. But while I like to teach, it does require a particular type of audience. Besides my own chemistry students, who else is going to read my technical monologues, and try to absorb every scrap of info, including all the deep chemistry stuff? Its like a bolt of lightening hit you all, and you all suddenly became obsessed with chemistry!! I've never spent so much time with people outside of my class or the field that were so thirsty for very involved knowledge about boiling points, liquid mixture vaporization details, and all the other things that go into a working PV. Its just too cool to me, and I'm happy, and rather addicted, to helping make this stuff understandable. It is a great and wonderful fun to me. Love you all!

Yes kurt, you are right, its not like its slowly vaping. I was wondering if anyone has tested VG with 10% ethanol. thanks

This is a common addition to juices that are VG, and too thick. It works very well, better than distilled water. However, for me, it also causes a very slight buzz. Alcohol in a juice is vaped and does indeed go right to the brain through the lungs. You may or may not feel it, but I did, and I didn't like it. It also dried my mouth out too much.

People use PGA (everclear), or vodka. Some use 151 rum or other high-proof liquor, but some will have sugars in them. Vodka is ethanol and water, essentially, and is fine.

Several threads in DIY on this.

I have been reading some of your posts and you seems very knowledgeable when it comes to this DIY stuff. I am not mixing any nic into the equation and working with pure VG and Flavors-any recommendations on ratio without nic? I also was wondewring if there was anyway to ex out the sweet taste of the VG

10% flavor by volume, compared to the total volume, is about what I use. Whether the rest of the volume has nic or not does not make a difference. 10% flavor is the level I like. I use Scubabatdan's e-juice calculator, which is in a sticky in this forum I think. He has it in his sig. For yours, to get the right thickness, 70:20:10 by volumes of VG:distilled water:flavor. Or you can use PGA instead of water to thin the VG.

Thanks-any good place to look up recipes? I played with my "potions" for about three hours today and didn't find anything I loved

Here's the online version of the e-juice calculator, eJuice Recipe Calculator .just put in the nicotine mg you have, the nic mg amount you want to make, then put in the size bottle you want to make, water (optional) and the flavoring amount and hit enter..

There's a section in the forum that has recipes here: E-liquid Recipes - E-Cigarette Forum

There are some here. E-liquid Recipes - E-Cigarette Forum

I like the "soft" candy flavors, like vanilla, caramel, toffee, nuts, choc, and mix them to make nice juices. I'll make 6 mL each of the above, then take 0.5mL of one and 0.5mL of another into a syringe, mix, and enjoy. Syringes really do make the whole operation easier if you are home. I siggest just getting online, ordering a bunch of Loranns or Capellas or FlavorArt, and having some fun! Best to make 3 mL or less test batches before you commit to making more...easy to make too much of something you don't end up liking...but don't toss those, as they sometimes get better after a few days, and you sometimes change tastes.

I have 13 flavors-they are the right kind i believe-I also like the soft flavors-Banana Cream pie from vapure and caramel, chocolate cream and cappuccino from liberty flight were really good. Any good place to buy the little bottles in bulk? I am going in for another run at the recipe's-thanks for all of your help

USPlastics:

Cylinder and Boston Round Bottles with Dropper Caps | U.S. Plastic Corp.

They are about 20 cents a piece or less. I get the translucent ones. Buying bottles from a vendor is rather expensive.

Would be a good class project i think, sorta a contest of sorts, let your students try come up with perfect mix juice for optimum throat hit and vapor. ;)

:lol::lol::lol: Not gonna happen, of course. Good way to get fired or sent to jail, most likely. But it is funny to think about all those students vaping and babbling away, and writing lab reports the size of War and Peace. And I would have to consider the poor TAs during those office hours. Whew, talk about opening Pandora's Box...
