I believe back somewhere that I prefer to try out inexpensive gear, since I can usually tell if I don't like the method, or if I don't like how that particular product performs and would like it if it was better made.

vapor beast has: 510 attys, drip tips with openings large enough to drip into (so they don't have to be removed) and drip "guards" (their term for drip shields). They have free shipping.

Copper Creek: Doesn't have free shipping, but they have LR306s & 510 for $6.00 each, and Cannon drip tips (for the 306) for $3.00. Not name brands, but I'm not picky when when giving a system a test drive.

Here is a list of coupons (supposedly on-going, although some no longer work or the vendor has gone under): http://vapedeals.blogspot.com/p/vaping-coupon-codes-that-do-not-expire.html

Vapor Joe's is also a good site to bookmark: http://.........blogspot.com/ (Oh my! There is an IGO-L atty on sale somewhere; I have no idea about them)

There is also "Deals & Steals" on ECF: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/85781-deals-steals-970.html#post8767180

I find browsing for sales complements dripping nicely. That's how I recently found a 1000mAh joyetech Twist for $22.00 with a 5% coupon. Good price I think.

With regards to what The Ocelot said though, is there an easier setup for dripping rather than the 510. It seemed it was the 510 that was being referred to rather than a drip tip itself.

510s have drip tips that fit inside of the tube thingy, where on the 306 it fits on the outside. With a 510, if you do not want to take the drip tip in and out, you can get a drip tip with a larger opening (to drip through/into) or a drip shield/guard that fits on the outside. I hope someone chimes in if I'm wrong again.

many tips have holes too small to comfortably drip through. the reason that cherry vapes tip I linked is (a) darn expensive and (b) my favorite is because it's got a hole I can drip through without taking the drip tip off to drip down into the atomizer.

btw drip tip ... s that are pretty: Drip Tip Designz - Drip Tip Designz

I have NOT received my order from them and don't suggest a $40 drip tip to someone new. BUT DEAR GODDESS THEY ARE PRETTY.

They are very pretty (I've seen TruStone tips made by other people as well), but I don't think I would buy any. I use very strong juices that melt acrylic (along with polycarb) and although TruStone is made with pulverized real stone, it is mixed with an acrylic resin. The trips are shaped around a metal tube (usually brass) which is what would be in contact with the juice (I use carto tanks almost exclusively) so they probably wouldn't degrade, but I would be sad if I spent that kind of money only to have the tip be damaged in some way.

I wish I could use acrylic, I love these: » Products Page Molehill Mountain Art Drip Tips

As it is, I use stainless steel and glass most of the time.

You use glass and stainless steel drip tips and still have to take them off to drip?
Are you using really high VG juice? Are you dripping from large bottles?

Sorry, I should have clarified. Most of the time I use ss and glass. For dripping I use acrylic. I vape 70pg/30vg.

My delrins give me the most problem with juice getting stuck at the bottom of the drip tip.
That's when I have to use the Coke bottle method to clear it out.

I've never tried acrylic so I don't know about that.

Is avoiding that stuck bit of juice the reason you need to remove the drip tip?
Or is it something else?

It's a little ming tip, the hole is too small to drip into.

OK I have been reading, and am running into what I find confusing. How do you use the the drip shields? If I have a 306 atomizer, it goes over the atty and the drip tip??? Or if I have a 510 atty. It goes over the atty with the top of the atty sticking out and the drip tip goes into the atty? Am I correct with both of these?

Hi - with a 306, the Cannon, for example fits over the atty and acts as a drip tip too. I have a feeling a drip shield might work the same way on a 510, but don't hold me to that. Here is a video about the Cannon, to give you an idea of what it looks like (you don't have to get a Cannon, this is how drip tips work on 306s in general): 306 Cannon Drip Tip Info - YouTube

Hi Ocelot. Did you mean the Cannon works as a drip shield as well?

Hi Ocelot. Did you mean the Cannon works as a drip shield as well?

No, I don't think so. The Cannon fits over the outside of a 306 atty. The top opening is wide enough to drip into and designed to be a drip tip as well. There are 510 drip tips that have big enough holes to drip into (so the drip tip doesn't have to be removed)...but now we are into muddy water for me... I think a drip shield for a 510 works like the Cannon does for a 306 - that is fits over the outside and is also used as a drip tip. Someone must chimes in soon and clarify this!

ETA: I'm sorry I misread that. Yes, a Cannon fits over the atty, which I think is how a drip shield works too - I've never used a drip shield so that is where I get confused.

OK I am following you now. Would the cannon itself, seeing as how it goes over the atty, prevent leaking on the 306?

Yes - that I know  I use a Cannon! Did you check out the video I linked to? I shows how the Cannon works.

ETA: The liquid actually goes on the atty, the Cannon or shield is to prevent the liquid from running passed the atty and out into your lap or on the battery.

ETA: The mod on the right has a Cannon over a 306:

Yes, the drip shield fits over the 510 atomizer. No, it does not also work as a drip tip - you need a drip tip AND a drip shield with a 510 atty - however you don't REALLY NEED a drip shield, it's just "recommended."

I like the design quite a lot!
