Hi my name is Tony.. Been a full time vaper for 4 mos now in a successful bid to end a 22yr long analog habit.. Over these last I'd say 3 mos I began to gain interest in mixing my own juice.. Something I read up on (as a lurker) for several weeks.. Well the income tax check came and I did it.. I went to a few different sites and started ordering.. I ordered nic juice... Pg based and Vg based.. U ordered pg.. I ordered Vg.. I ordered about $175 worth of flavoring.. FA.. Capella.. LorAnn.. I got graduated cylinders, syringes, dropper bottles, distilled water.. I mean all together Id say I spent $350.. I use the Juicemeup calc.. or any other calc I can find.. I try my own lil blends.. And well frankly... THEY ALL SUCK.. They all taste like hot, strong nothing.. If anyone with an expertise in DIY mixing.. would be so kind to talk me through the process and maybe help me find what I'm missing I would so appreciate it.. We could do it over the phone, in a chat session.. It makes no difference.. I just really need help.. Thanks
Happy vaping

Yes, get yourself to 5 posts, then head over to the DIY E-Liquid area, under Tips and Tricks.

I mix mainly with Natures Flavors, the perfumers apprentice, and Seedman Commercial cigarette concentrate. I end up at 18 - 22% total flavoring in an eliquid, the only things where I end up much lower are using Tobacco Absolute and liquid menthol concentrate.

You can also overshoot on flavoring, though in that case things tend not to go totally bland but just plain bite.

Some eliquids take time for the flavors to evolve, it's called steeping, but even then you normally get flavor, just that it hasn't mixed well as of yet, so it won't taste like what it will in a week or two.

A strong peppery "hit" is indeed a sign of nicotine. It's possible that your nic base is higher than you expect, though it's likewise possible that you simply have too little flavoring so the nic is all that comes through.

Well, 30% for Lorann's may not be too high, but for TFA, FA, and Capella that would be a bit high.

Yes, it is MUCH easier to start with single flavoring mixes to get a "feel" for how they work before blending.

Also clicking that blue "3" below my avatar will send you to many tips for mixing.

What kind of PV setup are you using?
