Not to add confusion or a harder decision or to step on the more experienced reonauts (certainly not that!), but.... I don't think you should take RM4 or 5 off the table. The RM2 is certainly a fantastic setup for anyone new or old to the scene alike. It's widely regarded as the best flavor from a REO, in fact. However, it does has it limits. If you are interested in dual coils, warmer Vape, or larger clouds - the RM4 or 5 must be of at least equal consideration. (I don't mention RM3 with these, though it is also a dual coil, because the others have adjustable air flow/AFC at a similar price point to the RM2 - so might as well have dual coil with the AFC)... An additional plug for the RM4 is that it can also run a single coil if you like as well, because the AFC has an adjustment for a single air hole.

Cheers guys!

If I can also run a single coil on the RM4 or 5 while I learn how to make decent coils, well maybe I'll get that. As long as I can adjust the airhole cause I think most of the duels I've seen usually have 2.

Or I could always get the RM2 first and get one of those later.

decisions, decisions, decisions ...

fun stuff tho', Thanks!

Good summary FB! That's exactly the info I had been looking for myself when deciding my 'First' Reo purchase - I wish I hadn't had to search through so many pages for it ;)

But yes, only the RM4 can do single or dual coils.

Regarding the RM2 ceramic base - Maybe I've just had better luck, but I've never had an issue with shorting to the base  - so that wasn't too big of a selling point for me, personally. But from reading others experiences and opinions, it must carry more weight than I place on it... Heck, maybe I'm missing out by being unable to get the coil that low to the base?!

OK, here's what I ordered:

1 LP Grand
1 RM2 (figured I can try sumpin else later)
1 alum button cover
2 6ml bottles xtra
4 1.5 X 10 Orings
1 extra spring
1 xtra tube

I didn't see an option for xtra screws for the RM2, darn it and they were outta 1 X 10 Orings.

I got the LP in orange and black. I figured it looked pretty good and would be easy to spot as I tend to forget where I set things down plus I like the TV show. Even tho' I love red, it was a little much. I don't wanna call too much attention to myself when stealth vaping.

Thanks to everyone for all your excellent help and support and I'll send pics when I get it set up!

The LP RM2 would be better suited to a LP grand. The regular RM2 will work on a LP grand, it's just kinda gonna look a little goofy cause you'll see the milled portion of the brass at the bottom that's so it fits in standard catch cups.

Anyhoo, congrats and welcome :)

Good pickup X. ligyron, which version of the RM2 did you order?

Good order too! As far as getting the switch rebuild parts... you're fine skipping that one. First, you have to do something really REALLY bad to mess up a switch. And more people get themselves in trouble trying to replace a switch themselves and the Reo and the parts end up then making a trip to the spa anyway.

Your Sony's is good. The Reo isn't gonna be fussy about this. As with any mechanical: Know your battery of choice's limits and create your coil builds accordingly.

While you wait, get to know your RM2:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...2-full-atomizer-itself-rebuild-pic-heavy.html

And you can always sell that other thing that you had to replace once already, and maybe another thing or two you might not be using so much in the very near future. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ember-explained-more-detail-faq-included.html Not like that ever happens after you join Reoville.

Well guys, it looks like I screwed up and ordered the regular RM2 instead of the one designed for the LP.

Now I'm gonna look goofy I guess. :(

If will work just fine and you can always put a leather wrap around it or better yet, Start stalking the classifieds, that will go great with a regular grand or Woodville

Not so goofy. It's just that the RM for a regular Grand has that bottom milled down to brass to fit the catch up. It will show on your LP Reo - you might actually like the look. :p If you don't - find an o-ring even to cover up that part.

And... and... Free Bonus Gift!!! Like FB said - if you spy a regular milled Reo in the classifieds you will be good to go! It's not the worst boo boo you could make on the order. You is fine.

Did I miss it? What colors did you go for on your Reo?

I got the orange and black, buddy.

The yellow and black Lamborghini look he once carried looked pretty cool but - no more I guess

I have a quick question for anyone who knows:

I know that I shouldn't let my Sony VT5 run down below a certain level in order to not cause harm. So in order to check voltage I need a multimeter besides the screw in coil resistance checker I ordered (didn't get the one with battery check too since I want a multimeter for around the house anyway).

So does one have to remove the battery from the REO if it's locked in off, or can one saftly check battery with it installed?

I'm going to order one of those coil jigs Super X and others like too. I got some 2mm silica wick to start with since it looks pretty idiot proof for a 1st build, but after that I wanna try using the organic cotton I bought at CVS which no one seems to complain about.
