Ok....still trying out different things and was asked by a friend how many mg liquid to buy and I couldn't answer it. He smokes Marlboro lights....and I think I found online that they are about 1-2mg of nicotine per cigg. Now what mg juice would he use.....I have 18mg and not sure why...lol.....but want to help if I can. Does 18mg mean 18mg per tank, per puff, per bottle....HELP. What do I tell him????
You would think I could answer this BUT I CAN'T..........

I smoked 2 packs of the marlboro lights a day for years and I started with 24 mg and then dropped it down to 20 by getting some VG from wal mart and cutting it but the best way is to have the liquid in 24 and 18 and use the 18 to cut so you don't loose any flavor. Too low and you fail at vaping but too high and you can cut it. Good luck

It's mg/ml and almost impossible to correlate to what a smoker needs to quit. I would suggest buying 12, 18, and 24 to start. Most likely it will take the "jolt" of the 24 to make the transition but many people find that to be too much if they vape a lot. Others can vape 24 all day (or even 36).

I smoked ultra-lights and used 18 at first, but it quickly became too strong for me except as my "kickstart" morning vape.

I smoked 1 pad Marlboro lights and switched to vaping using 80pg/20vg 28mg nic, found the 28mg nic to be too much as I couldn't vape as much as I wanted too (I would get light headed). Now using 80/20vg 18mg nic. Nic also affects the throat hit, so less nic = less throat hit or you need higher voltage or LR carto/atty to compensate. I agree with Tina :

First, 18 mg means 18 mg of nicotine in every 1 ml of fluid.

There is no direct correlation in the amount of analogs smoked vs. the nic concentration in juice. Some 2 PAD smokers do fine with 12 mg/ml while some 1/2 PAD light smokers need 24 mg/ml. Best bet is to get juices in a variety of nic levels and see which ones work best. You could get 12 and 24 mg/ml juices and mix them in equal proportions to get 18 mg/ml.

No direct correlation but it does seem that there is an indirect one. As someone that smoked 2PAD 18mg wasn't enough for me. 24 mg with an occasional 36 mg, for the cravings worked for me.

So indirectly, 18 mg seems to work OK for PAD. 24 mg for 1 1/2 PAD and more then that for 2PAD.
There are other variables, like how hard you smoke a cigarette but it only changes it a little.

Like others have said, go too low and it won't work very well. Go to high and you get woozy. Not like you'll OD on it but your body will let you know it's more then it wants.

If you have a backup and don't mind lending your friend one I'd suggest that, since you're both at about the same level when comparing cigarettes.
