Posting in the new members forum. Not usual for me, but I thought what the heck everyone around here seems to be pretty cool, so why not follow the protocol for once :) Anyways, my wife fell for the latest Facebook/ Dr Oz "free trial" scam, (we canceled it in time, so no worries) and it got me thinking about the ecigs again so we decided to try the ones that came. Interestingly enough, they were pretty good. After reading here and several other places about vaping we decided to get a decent starter kit and give it a try. Three days of searching trying to decide, comparison shopping and I managed to pick out a KR808D1 cartomizer starter set from one of the etailers. It FINALLY arrived (no fault to the etailer, but the USPS) and now I am sitting here at my desk, happily vaping an RY4 while my wife has a cartomizer that I loaded with the watermelon flavored juice that I picked up. She was an Ultra Light smoker at around a pack every 2 days, so she wanted something lighter than the 18mg carts that came with the kit. I on the other hand have been a PAD of 100s for 25 years or so, so I'm sticking with the heavier concentration. From what I have read around here, I might need to go with a stronger one if my urge for smokes doesn't ease up. Not having any problems now, but the real test will come after dinner :) So, I thought I would say Hi, and thanks for all the good info from all the old posts. I love web forums with search functions. Saves me from asking the same thing as 9K other people. KD

Nice!! And welcome!

yeah you may need 24mg. You are sure you have a KR808D-1, not KR808D-2 aka E9? You can get cartos for KR808D-1 at Vapor4Life (the WOW ones are hot and have a lot of hit and I recommend the WOW tobacco Shop sampler). Also cartos from SMokelessImage, Bloogplanet and Halocigs G6. And with the blanks you can use any juices you want that are thin enough. I find thin clear juices give me the best good life out of a carto (so I use light clear PG juices with 20% or less VG and a couple of Vapor4Life WOW juices).

Pay attention to how different flavors make you feel. If any give you analog cravings then avoid those flavors alone for now. I could not vape food flavors alone for the first 2 months. Some are fine with food flavors but tobacco flavors make them wish for an analog.

Welcome to the forum Chevello, this is certainly a great place for info. One of the tips I picked up from here was if you are having problems with not getting enough Nicotine, dont treat it like a cigarette, ie, pick up, and smoke till done. Its hard to judge that with an e-cig, and for the first couple of days I was picking up and vaping for a few minutes, then leaving it alone till my next "ciggy break".

That didnt really work for me, so now, I just pick up when I think about it, even if I have only just put it down. Sometimes I vape for a good couple of minutes, others just a few vapes, but if my body is telling me it need nicotine, I vape.

10 weeks later - aint touched a ciggy, and dont intend on going back

Welcome, Chevello! People find the best success with vaping by finding the right flavors, PV and nicotine level. You really can't determine which nic level you should vape by what kind of cigarettes you smoked. I was an Ultra Light 100's smoker and I had to start out at 24mg. I switched between 18mg and 24mg for a while, but I've finally settled into 18-22mg. Once you've found your Trifecta of vaping, everything else is gravy!
