I made a couple of mistakes from which you can learn:
1) I ordered one kit for two people. No good.
2) I didn't order any liquid, relying on the prefilled carts that came with the kits. Thanks to a friend I met here on the forum, I was able to get vaping again pretty soon. But it was a big mistake not to order enough liquid.
I went with the Joye 510 after reading a lot here.
Cignot and Mike and Carol's have 510 starters for similar prices. Both vendors are very responsive to questions which was a big plus for me. Click either name to take you to their 510 page.
We can do this together!

Have you been using the same 501 kit for the number of days that are in a banner at the bottem of your post?....russell

Yes, I am still using the same black batts and attys.

I have also fairly recently added some other colors to the collection...Platinum and Copper..because now I like to vape different flavors at the same time and that way it is easy to keep them separated.

As you can tell from all the varied answers to your question, there are several hardware paths you can take and achieve your goal of moving away from analogs.

I believe that all of these experiences from other vapers are a starting point (actually you finding and participating in this forum was your starting point).

These suggestions have already saved you from some of the mistakes many of us made in impulsively choosing other options i.e. SmartSmoker rip-offs, buying only carts and not enough juice, paying too much for standard 510 kits, not getting enough batt power for our style of vaping and on and on.

However, no matter how we all got to where we could gift you these wisdoms and how much it cost in time and $$$$, we are here and vaping and avoiding analogs and breathing better, and enjoying the camaraderie of the ECF community.

No matter what hardware you choose from among the recommendations, you will be taking another step towards your goal and I can guarantee it is fun and much healthier than analaogs, AND it will definately not be the last $$$$ you spend on this new beginning.

Vape On!!!!!

well, there's been a debate going on about that around here. IF: you can just stay with your initial purchase you'll save a bunch of money(1oz of juice is like, what, 15bucks? and most people go through a 1 or 2 ml per day?) ON THE OTHER HAND: when we begin to vape, most of us become so excited by how great it is that we immediately go back online to get several more flavors, atty's, batts, perhaps another kind of PV and all the accessories that go with both, a PCC, maybe an organizer case to keep it all in...etc. $600 bucks later you're saying to yourself, "hey, I thought this was going to save money?" To me it's worth it anyway, the novelty is bound to wear off soon enough (unless you're a gadget guy anyway) and the amount of money saved in health and hospital costs are yet to be measured. After all, we're here to save our own lives, right? (at least, I am.) By the way, I just started vaping less than a week ago, I'm not a gadget type and I've spent $200 so far. I don't plan to buy any thing more for a long while and plan to break even in about six weeks. As Hecknaw likes to say, "even if you bought a new atty every week you'd still be spending less than if you keep smoking instead". Although I don't put it quite as eloquently as he.;)

For a beginner, I would highly suggest a RN4081 (I know, blasphemy around here not suggesting the 510 LOL). I'm quickly becoming an experienced vaper, and I absolutely love it. Simple design, great vapor and flavor, and relatively easy to find. In fact, you can find one here:
http://aquavaporcig.3dcartstores.com//Electronic-Cigarette-with-PCC-Bundle_p_78.html#
It's a big larger than an analog, so if your looking for something similar to get you started, head over to Volcanoecigs.com, the L88B is also simple to use and as close to a real ciggy as I've seen yet (or you can still get a 510 there, just branded as the Magma). Or, if you like flavors, try the 901. Yet another simple to use PV, and I think it brings out the flavor of juices better than the 510, you can get this one on the cheap at www.zapcigs.com. They've got a sale right now on their 901 kits.

My suggestion, however, is if your absolutely done with analogs (aka not just wanting to try something out), I would HIGHLY suggest just starting with a mod and foregoing all the kits/commercial PV's, and you can find a great one over at ProVape Electronic Cigarette Battery Mods, Atomizers and Accessories. I think he's still on preorder tho, but I suspect it wouldn't be long. The Provape-1 is fantastic, I'm currently testing for reviews right now (and seriously considering what of my gear I want to sell :D)

I ordered a white 510 starter kit for the wife from Nhaler and a black starter kit for myself from Awesome Vaper ($54 each shipped), we received them on Saturday, November 7th and by the 10th we had both quite analogs completely and have not looked back.

510 starter kits come with 2 atomizers, 2 batteries, 5 cartridges and a wall charger. I also got some extra e-liquid. Since then we have both ordered Tornados, a Silver Bullet, Xhaler, Chuck and 2 mod boxes. Not to mention lots of different e-liquid.

She likes the High Voltage Kent 12mg from Nhaler (x-Parliament smoker) and I buy a lot of RY4 24mg from various vendors (x-full flavor RYO). I figure we are still way ahead of the game compared to buying cigarettes.
