I had to buy a passthrough and some XL carts for my M401. That's taken me a little over $300 but not by much.
I've now got 5 attys and 4 bats and with this new passthrough coming, I should be good to go for quit sometime to come.

So far, my attys and bats have lasted through 5 weeks with no issues and, I vape hard, constantly all my waking hours. Could be equivalent to 5 or so packs a day, I'm guessing.

Thanks again for sharing,

Since 04/23 (first purchase) $128.00 on hardware, $94.00 on liquids, for a total of $222.00.

That may be a bit over the top for a nOOb but I liked the Joye eGo hardware I got so much I ordered a second kit. That leaves me with 4 1000 mAh batteries, 4 atomizers, 2 USB chargers, 4 atty covers and a pile of 510 carts on hand. I won't need to be ordering any more hardware for a long time. Oh, and a stylish zipper case too! :p

And the liquids... Chasing the nicotine level, sampling flavors, switching from PG to VG... It happens.

Smokes during the same period? If I was still smoking I would be coming up on spending a total of $327.92 covering the same time period. Maybe not an overwhelming bargain, but it was still over $100.00 cheaper than smoking while going through the intial hardware purchase and this sorting out phase.

I don't have an exact total, but I'd be somewhere between $1500 and $2000 in the last 6 months. My break-even point (where I stop being in the negative and start saving money) is in my banner, and I think it's in August. That doesn't count the sick time I didn't spend this winter with my annual case of bronchitis, or the time I haven't spent coughing, or the enjoyment I've gotten out of food I can actually taste, or the embarrassment I was saved when I discovered the carpet in my house really needed to be cleaned since the puppies were house-broken and I had a dinner party planned. All those things are total win, and they don't have a price tag.

Now that I have my hardware pretty well set, I'm looking at recurring expenses of around $60 a month. Beats the crap out of the $300 I'd be spending, if I still bought cigs.

I know that feeling. I've got my (overpriced) RN4081, with a spare battery, some cartomizers, and some attys and juice coming in. I think that puts my total spending at about $350. I have told myself that, barring a juice shortage, that will be it until about xmas. If I'm still solidly vaping by then (and I bet I will be) I think I might upgrade to a bigger and better unit - I've been eyeing up that Echo....

Chump change. Seriously. You've been very thrifty.

It should make all of you thrifty folks feel better to know what I blew in 16 months. $5,232.74, to be exact. Not all of it was wise. Some was downright foolhardy. But, I've learned. And, my spending is WAY down as of late.

FWIW, that seemingly astronomical figure is roughly what I would have spent on my brand of cigarettes in that time period if I was paying local retail prices.

I think for a time, I was THROWING money at the fear that I would go back to cigarettes. That fear is dead. There's no way now that I could do that.

And, I can breathe.

Thanks again for sharing,

My M40x gear I bought in 2009 has been very durable.
Can't tell you how many miles I've put on that PT and it's still ticking.

Just ordered a Jazz Carto e-pipe so my 2011 budget is blown.

My total expenditure:

-1x Gamucci Micro V2 Starter Kit - £39.99
-1x Joye 510 Starter Kit - £29.99
-1x Drip Tip - £2.99
-2x E-Liquid - £15.98
-5x E-Liquid - £20.19
-1x Joye Ego - £36.54

Total: £145.68.

Omg, thats quite a lot for me. But I know I'll break even soon as I used to smoke quite a lot. I think I won't be buying any new kits anytime soon as I'll get my ego tommorow, except for spare parts and juice, so I'm not too worried about how much I've spent. I guess its normal to try out different kits, liquids and other stuff until you find a perfect combination and stop spending like crazy lol.
