I will tell you why my DIL started when she had never smoked. So her husband who vapes and her had another thing in common that they enjoyed sharing! She vapes zero,
"and for the most part I had a pretty fun albeit expensive trip. In which I got my wife to start vaping. She's not a smoker," lol yeah stop wining about the costs, you started it. Wait until she starts complaining about the costs involved. You guys may be uber rich and this is meaningless to you, and if so more power to you. But why on earth anyone gets someone to start vaping who isn't trying to get off cigs baffles my mind. More power to you tho if that's your thing ;)

I've never met a Provari owner, but in my mind I always visualize them as looking like hipsters. Skinny tight jeans, big square glasses, weak wrists....

We have a few hipsters where I live and I like to walk behind them and step on their heels so they have to stop and readjust their shoes.
Pretty childish on my part and I always apologize, but I continue to do it. Do you think I have a problem?

No hipster here!!! I actually despise hipsters... living in a town with a large liberal arts college/university they are EVERYWHERE!!! Ugh!!

Im just a normal guy, usually wearing some sort of heavy metal concert t-shirt (slayer, slipknot) jeans and Doc Martins or flip flops. When I'm not in a dress shirt and tie at work

Your definition of hipster seems a little off... but I'll just assume that is because the Midwest is finally getting the trend of psuedo-hipster Urban Outfitter loyalists that plagued the west coast a few years back.

The point of the story is - some folks just envy the beast mods. And some, just don't know what the !@#$ they're talking about - or have never seen it before. If you don't know what it is, don't pretend to know, ASK!
:

Going to this specifically:

I'm not going to justify my attitude or anything else, but this was the point in what I was trying to make. Got it, it holds batteries, therefore "Battery holder".

The reason it made me a little curious and kind of chipped at me was just due to the fact that she works in a shop and has never seen a mod with a digital display before? Yet they sell the Innokin iTaste MVP series. Odd isn't it? Overall, the point I was making was you don't work for a business and not know what you're selling, or be somewhat of the 'subject matter expert' (SME) of the other items that may walk into your store. That would be like me trying to sell and repair TV's and not know a damn thing about the brand, manufacturing process, parts, accessories, etc of every possible brand of television that walked through my door. Not to mention you had to be there to hear HOW it was said as well. I think that's why the other salespeople that were in there were kind of thrown back and she was quickly moved off the sales floor. Again, am I justifying my blunt and straightforward response? No, I'm clarifying what my post was intended to be about. Knowledge of your products and various other products out and about. Again, other than that, pretty good store to stop into. The rest of the folks there have a pretty vast knowledge of their equipment both in and out of the store. They were also pretty helpful as well. And yes, I did ask them a lot of questions, they did answer them in a professional manner, and if they didn't know they said "We really don't know". Which to me is an acceptable answer. Would I have did the same thing with any other device? Absolutely.

Now back to my hole... ah but before I go - needed to mention - my wife wanted to see what all the craze was about, why I've been spending copious amounts of time in my "den" and what I've been brewing up. She's smoked back in her teen years and just didn't like it, she's smoked hookahs with me in the past and loved it, although it gave her a headache from time to time. So she wanted to taste some of that "flavored air", which is what she calls it, and I was cool with that. Now she's content and she's having a blast. I told her I would eventually get her an RBA / RDA so she could build her own stuff, even show her how to do it. Or direct her in the right direction to get it done. She wrapped her first coil, made her first atomizer setup, and told me it was frustrating at first but she had fun doing it. And she'd gladly do it again.

Bawahahahaha!!!!

I thought this story was funny! For all the posts that the "ProVari" generates, a little "tongue and cheek" humor is more than welcome!
This spring, I will wave my magical ProVari "battery holder" over my pond and watch as frogs turn into prince's. (The ProVari Book of Magic is an additional $49.99, but ONLY if you know the secret "password") I might add, I'm having a quiet moment on the ol' computer while my magical ProVari is cleaning the kitchen........."ProVari....it's not just a battery holder".

ProVape sells a life style, not a bad marketing ploy.

As far as I can tell, Provape sell PVs. The lifestyle thingy is in the minds of the believers, be they owners or non-owners. Seeing it happen as a non-involved observer is quite comical and can make for entertaining reading on slow days :thumb:

On my list of Pet Peeves, this ranks the highest.

People that don't know what they are talking about acting like they do.
Or people that don't know the answer just making one up.

I guess that is what many people call Customer Service these days.

If I ever call Customer Service to ask a question, I want an answer, not a guess.
If I wanted a guess, I could make my own guess without bothering to call.

When a Customer Service person uses the words "I think" in their responses to me, it's game over.
That is not a valid set of words to use when I call Customer Service.

And I will immediately tell them so.

Do not EVER tell me "I think" when I call you for Customer Service.
Because that is NOT going to go well for you, period.

And that's the name of that tune.
:)

It seems apparent that ProVari owners are the STI drivers of the vape community.

Well that makes sense. If I see an STI I like to maneuver my truck in front of them, wait until we get into traffic, then drive real slooow.

But then again maybe our STI drivers are really just clones of all the authentic STI drivers from California. Gee whiz, us hicks in fly over country never get the real deal first.

I drove through Sacramento once.......

Similar to cars, like it or not, every brand has its majority demographic and the stereotype that follows.

Everything from Exotic car collectors who have different makes/versions/colors, but rarely ever drive them, to the person who just wants something that gets them from A to B.

Once a stereotype has taken its foothold, it’s near impossible to reverse. Some ignore it, but others perpetuate it as far as they can.

I've read the original post and the follow-ups... still haven't found a "run in" buried in there. The thread title implies you had a customer service or product issue. Which it appears you had neither.

Seems to me you experienced an ego issue and I'm not referring to the battery type.

So what if a minimum wage retail clerk didn't recognize your high dollar gear... oh and fancy coil... No matter the brand, cloned, authentic, regulated or not all this stuff is basically battery holders. The staff is there to sell you products not make you feel better about yourself for what you've blown your money on.

You may be prone to more disappointments down the road... don't be surprised if you pull up to an Auto-Zone in you shiny luxury sedan and they refer to it as a "car"...

The trend makers that had to be popular in high school... Or least thought they were, Oh you have nintendo and not xbox!!! pshhh, attitude is what I see protrayed here. I have 4 Provaris, 10 mechs that cost much more then your 2.5.. Thousands in mods.... Who gives a shat..?
I walked into a b&m twice in my whole life.. 1st experience with ecigs was the 1st experience as a rookie and the second time was after thousands of dollars later I visited one more with some experience and knowledge. I was holding my orion v2.1 at the time and they guys at the store did not even know what the geneisis atomizer was nor ever heard of an orion..
I didn't get my undies in a bunch or clenched my mod with the hammer fist.. But I did bust out my provari and told him to bow down!!! .. lol wtfff.. I simply showed them the benefits of my hybrid genesis unit, how it worked, and explained to them the market they are losing out on by not having advanced vape gear as we all evolve very quickly.. I was there for 15mins trying to bring some insight to the shop.. Clearly they were only interested in the money aspect of the business and not much about ecig it self. I would imagine not all shops are this way but clearly the rookie who spends 179.99 has the mistake of thinking it comes with ...... and automaticlly include provarinati membership with the purchase.. But then realizes everyone who wants a provari already has 3..

You know what.. I have a custom finished provari that store does not carry.. Can I get some recognition from the OP please!!!! j/k..

Hm, interesting. So the fact that she called your Provari a "battery holder" means she doesn't know what a Provari is? I'm more inclined to believe that a person who calls someone's PV a battery holder knows EXACTLY what it is & isn't impressed before I'd believe they are calling it that because they're uneducated on the subject.

I'm sorry but perhaps you don't understand people. If I worked in a vape shop I wouldn't be impressed with your Provari either. I wouldn't call it a battery holder (and frankly I'm still not convinced she used that phrase either). But just because someone doesn't oooh & awwwe over your device doesn't mean they don't know what it is. It might mean they do know what it is & just don't care.

Actually, the Midwest usually picks up on east coast nuances and quietly hopes that the west coast slides into the ocean. jk... kinda
