New to vaping bought a cheap knock off kit at the local flea market 2 weeks ago. It is a Knock off evo type with the little tank that has wicks that hang down. yesterday I noticed that the vape was diminishing and I was having to puff 3 or four times to get any vape (same juice mix I was using)...so I took it apart and cleaned the battery and tank parts(where they tread together ) and drained and filled with new juice because I thought maybe the juice had thickened. Battery is fully charged and seems to be working fine.I notice that the wick where it goes into the vaperizor part looks burnt and what little vapor I get is nasty tasting. Is there a way that I need to clean the inside of the tank and wick ? I do know I need to get the kind that is bottom feed when I replace the tank...is it now time ? hoping for a miracle way to get this working until Wednesday when I can drive to a Brick and Mortar...I do not want to go back to smoking. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you know if the heads are replaceable? Whats the tank called? Does the little atomizer head screw out? You might need a new tank. It sounds like you burned some juice onto your wick and thats hard to get off. If its not working too well, try pulling the wick over so that the coils sit ontop of a clean part of the wick. This could ruin the tank though. You want to have backups, FOR your backups. Not just backups. But backups for your backups. Because you can't run to the store to get a new tank like you could cigs.

If you have some Vodka or Over 90% Alchohol, take the top part off (the head/wick assy) and put some vodka or alchohol in a shot glass, put the assy inside and swish around. Let it soak for 30 mins to an hour....even more will not hurt, the wash out with water, dry as good as you can (blow through it, etc) and put it back together and fill er up. This will help dramatically until you can get to the store.

the atomizer wick part do not seem to come apart from the tank part. I can go buy a airline sized vodka and try the soak....I hope to be able to buy 2 of the bottom feed type that have the replaceable parts when I get to the B@M store on Wednesday....

maybe I will scream for help from a few of the local vapers on FB and see if someone has a spare tank too it is possible someone will have mercy on me ...I just thought this would last a bit longer to allow me time to save...2 weeks seems kinda short.

What can I do to insure I dont have problems in the future ?

I bought this unit on a whim and was completely un-educated . I have found out so much since then...but I must admit it is much better than smoking and I did chain vape whenever I was craving. Much better than the "look-a likes" I tried in the past. At least the batteries and charger I can use for spares and I do have juice:facepalm:

I clean my heads every 2-4 clearos of juice. Just a quick rinse out under hot water and blot dry.

Every couple of days or so, I like to dry burn the coil after cleaning. This is where you pulse the fire button on the battery on a dry coil to burn the gunk that is left on there from the juice. You can pop a coil (I never have) so make sure you have a back-up before you do it. There are a lot of you tube videos about this practice.

Top coil clearos are great, they just need a little love and they'll last for weeks. If you got 2 weeks from it with no cleaning or maintenance, that is pretty good going. You can also get the same clearo you have but with replaceable heads.

Just to add, many members here started with the CE4 clearo and still use it after years. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the CE4, just there are different delivery systems that might suit your needs better.

I'm newish myself and was curious about this practice. I have and ego setup with a mini nova tank and dual coils. Can i just pop the coil off and wash it to prolong the life? If so this three pack of coils will last awhile. :)

Not only can you do that, I'd highly recommend it. Wash dry and reuse. Every few tanks either do a dry burn or a little soak in alcohol, final rinse and dry and you'll be good to go.

They are considered a disposable item though (and they are only $1.50 a head) so eventually they will just stop producing a good vape. At that point, you can rebuild them (buying some wire and wicking material) or just toss them and open a fresh coil head.

ok so I can rinse it out and let it dry and find Utubes to show me how to do a dry burn. I am guessing that refilling it when ever it got a bit below 1/2 was not a good idea either ? and to add a pack of replaceable coils to my shopping list for Wednesday. I am really hoping the B@M can show me how to care for the new tanks and heads

Thank everyone here for being so supportive and helpful :)

Everyone should slow down and let the OP Identify what the tank is. It would be much simpler to assist than to start recommending this that and the other. All that can come later.
For now, lets try to get the Vape going again.:D

1st Pic = ce4 > Disposable - can be cleaned and let to dry a few times then mostly ready to toss.
2nd Pic = ce5 > Serviceable - can be disassembled and properly cleaned/dry burned and preform like new for a longer time. Wick/coil head replaceable.
