Hello all, I just picked up a eVic with a Vivi Nova tank using a 2.4ohm head. I been getting burning taste when I vape at 4.1v and puff longer then 4 seconds. I think I might have burned the wick a little when I tired to set it to max Volts to test it out but that shouldn't have burned the wick right? If that is the case what can I do to fix the problem? Take the head out and clean the wick and tank? Thanks for looking

A 2.4 head should be fine at 4.1v. Could be the head you are using is bad. i use that head up the 4.5 with no problems. If the wick is silica it shouldn't burn but can get gunked up with a very sweet juice but that usually takes awhile. Have you tried lower voltage to see how that works?
I have no idea what the wick is, Its what ever comes with the original vision vivi nova. The tank is only 3 days old. When I lower the volts I don't get much vapor so I like to keep it at 4v+. So I was wondering if its possible to clean the wick?

I wish people wouldn't say that. I use novas almost exclusively the same one a year. Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work for everyone else. Once you learn the idiosyncrasies of any juice delivery device you will be better off.
uhh yeahh. I really don't like having to deal with idiosyncrasy of a juice delivery system.

and subie about the head, I bought bunch of evod heads and replaced all the coils. mine range from 1.5 to 3.0 I keep the higher resistance for my VW and I have the lower 1.5 for my back up ego that I never use.

You burnt the wick/coil/eliquid. Take it out and soak it in hot water for a few minutes then rinse it off and let it dry thoroughly. Most of the time that helps quite a bit. If it still tastes or vapes badly just replace it and give yourself a point for a lesson learned. If you have not done so already, my best advice would be to read a few articles on variable voltage (VV). There are some great tutorials and links on VV in the forums. It would be time well spend and save you hours upon hours of future mishaps (not to mention $$$). Hope that helped.

What PG/VG is the juice?

Thick juices don't wick as well. I'm using a 3mm wick on a vivi nova now with 5 volts and about 3.0 ohms. No problems.

It's not like all PV's don't have wicking problems. Every carto/tank/atomizer/RBA can have a wicking problem. Most if not all are solvable.

If it's a high PG juice, you can try putting some in a small bottle and add a drop or two of water. You can also check to make sure the wick isn't being choked by that silicone top cap. If so, make sure it is right-side-up. It has a metal insert inside...the flat side of that little metal washer goes down facing toward the coil.

People have been known to cut a small notch in that silicon cap to allow more room for the wicks...but that's a last resort as it could induce leaking and shouldn't be necessary.

I was having the same burning taste in my vivi nova as well, after searching through this forum and watching a few vids, I followed the advice and took it apart and saw a black build up on the coils ( had beed vaping a sweet Turkish blend the last few days in this ). Did the soak, dry burn, rinse, dry and it was back to tasting great again...learning so much on this forum.
