Ok, this is wierd...

I had some issues this evening with my protank mini giving me a burnt taste so I put vaping aside for a bit and went without. I came back to it about 45 minutes later...different tank, different flavor and guess what...

It all tastes burnt!

I am sure it's my tastebuds/sniffer (even the chicken lasagna I'm cooking smells like the burnt silica from my protank) but I can't vape any of my flavors right now without feeling queasy.

Anyone else experience this?

Sounds like vapetongue. Cleanse your palate with some ginger ale, and smelling some fresh ground coffee. Also, stay hydrated, and oral cleanse regularly. Hope this helps!

Don't have ginger ale but I also swished with Listerine (UGH!) and am laying off the vaping for the night.

Ginger Ale will cleanse your taste palate, coffee cleanses your olfactory palate. I hope you get rid of the burnt taste.

Do you have dirty coils? Residue can clog your wicks -- and voila, burnt hits. I bought a box of extra heads and change daily. Lots of flavor and zero burnt hits. Then just clean and dry-burn the dirty coils as required.

I found that pickles and/or pickle juice helps rid vapetongue quite well.

The tank is only 2 days old and the head was replaced yesterday. I think I just got a little too aggressive with it yesterday.

What are you using it on? And if it's a VV/VW APV have you checked to see if you accidentally or otherwise ramped your voltage or wattage way up?

I'm using an ego 1100mah. I also tried it on stubby (ego 450mah) and got the same burnt taste. no vv/vw here. I find the simpler the set up, the less I freak out when my crap doesn't work right.

Yes, I tend to vape approximately 3-6 ml/day of "heavy" flavors, RY4, creams, etc. and notice definitive differences with daily changing. Try a new one now and see the difference!

I bought box of Kanger replacement heads; they take just seconds to change. I then clean when I'm down to my last spare. Will likely start trashing and replacing flavor wicks (i.e. loose on top) as they're not coming out pristine. I see or taste no other degradation with the following approach. Of course, YMMV.

I have the protank mini 2 and am very pleased. While I vape pretty thick flavors, I've had best results substituting a washed and dry-burned coil on a daily basis. I notice an easier draw and fuller flavors.

Also want to add that, in my limited experience, it's best to soak the heads/coils in warm/hot, allow to dry overnight, dry burn and THEN do a final soak with PGA or 91% ISO. I'm seeing a lot of carbon in the alcohol following that final bath and highly recommend as standard practice.

If you're using the 91% ISO for cleaning you HAVE to wait until COMPLETELY dry and odor free i.e. 2-3 days. If you can't do this you MUST use PGA instead. It's simply not worth the risk, especially for minor cost differences. My .02

Also intend to buy some 190 proof when I finish this bottle of 100 proof vodka. This vodka is noticeably less effective than cleaning with 91% ISO.

invest in pickled ginger the same kind you get with sushi works great ..a bit of lemon works as well and the faces you'll make are priceless.

A found a tea tree oil steam bath worked best of all for resetting my smell and taste - boiling water in a tub, bunch of tea tree oil in it, put a towel over your head and breath deep for ten minutes. Clears out sinuses and kills germs to boot.
