You ever think about doing some chemical etching on a raw aluminum door?

I hadn't . . . . . yet. Perhaps, good sir, after you finish making my swirl painted REO, you'd be up for trying the etching?
I had very briefly considered something like chemical patinas, but aluminum doesn't seem to do much in that area (i could be wrong there), and then there's protecting it, too.

So, my vaping buddy/cube mate and I were scrounging around our storage space at work and came across an old Avaya FO transceiver.

Completely ignoring pdib's instructions he whipped out his snips and box cutter and created this in about 10 minutes (the board is the perfect size to fit the Reo's door tracks...that helped a lot).

As others have stated, pictures don't do these justice...even for such a quick and dirty job.

wow, populated board looks sick... now if it was functional circuitry... hmmm, how about a voltage regulator built right into the door with some slide contacts on the inside... with a tiny display too... that would be crazy :)

you are sick, dude....

i freakin love it! :)
