Whats up with this initial 8 hour mandatory charge time? Arent these the same l-ion bats that comprise all ecigs? Is this something the factory forgot to do before shipping them out? Whats going on here? What end comsumer wants to charge 8 hours before using for 20 minuets and then charge for an additional hour (instructed to ignor the green light?) before using? I mean come on...mine arived with 7/8 charge and are working just fine without all that..

Please correct me if I am wrong...but none of my other kits required an initial 8 hour charge and then 20min of use then an aditional charge of an hour (ignoring the charger).

Can we then trust the charger? I mean hell, we are paying for this...do all other l-ion dealers require this? None that I know of.......why just the 510?

whats up?

Any manufacturer feel free to chime in. Would love to hear the explanation. Not that I am putting down 510s. I love mine! But this seems to be only for the 510's as other l-ion bat manufactures don't require this. Please let us know why this is required. Do all the other batts get this at the factory and the 510 consumer is to do this because it is not done at the factory? Are all 510 bats defective and require this type of initial charging? Please, 510 sellers please let us know. I am not intending to be combative or obtuse. I really want to know why this is. I just think its rediculous when compared to other l-ion bats that do not require this from there brands. Please let us know why this is required. Seems like it a real deterent to trying 510 products. My KR808D1 l-ion bats did not require an inital 8 hour charge then 20 min of use then an additional 1 hour charge...they only required the consumer to consult the green light of the charger....the KR808D1 I use as an example....my other kits did not require this type of charging either...Are the 510 bats special in some way....other than all other l-ion bats?....are we messing up our warrentys by not elaboratly charging as instructed? Please, manufacturers let us know... thank you.

Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days.
Also, the storage charge, which I assume is also in place for shipping, is about 40%, so yes, you can vape right away. Then charge until the charger light goes green. That's it for the basics.

Lithiums for the most part have no memory effect. Hot climates can shorten their life. For Vaping and considering most places charge 8-10 a battery and using the way most do.. receive it, charge until green and use it will give it a good life.

It appears the usb chargers are smart chargers. If the batt is charged it goes green right away. It appears they only charge what they need to goto 100%.

Cell phone batteries are more expensive, battery bumping a cell lithium to increase its capacity is a good idea.. Drain batt, charge to green, remove from charge 10 minutes and charge to green. Do this about 10 times until it goes green fairly quickly.

I don't think that lithium batteries has enough auto-consumption to accept charge only after 10 minutes. If your charger fails and overcharges them the lithium may crash and you loose the battery. In order to achieve a full charge of a battery I think it is better to charge-to-green, use it until it is at 80% (consume 20%), let it be cold (30 mins), and charge-to-green again. Do this about 3 or 4 times and the battery should have the maximum charge it can hold.
