For those who continue to smoke.... at least the number of cigarettes that you do smoke is greatly reduced. vaping means different things to different folks.

You will NOT be put down here because you continue with cigarettes. Thank you for sharing! ;)

Not really, more or less the same amount as before I started vaping. For what I smoke for vaping doesn't really replace it.

Me too lol I'm happy for those that have been successful in quitting smoking thru vaping. I tell everyone I can what a wonderful way vaping is to quit. But that's not my reason for vaping. I vape to cut down on smoking. I vape so I can have nic in places that smoking is not allowed (like my living room). What I find most fantastic about it is that when/if I get enough of a desire to completely quit the analogs, I know I can.....easily......with vaping.

Not being judgmental here, but where is this missing desire to quit? Can you explain that a bit further since you also said that you can easily quit the analogs when you want to. Just wondering cause I'm dealing with someone who expresses the same sentiment, and I'm trying to understand that.

Some people just enjoy smoking and the edge it takes off. I know I enjoyed smoking. I decided to quit. My chest pains were scaring me. Vaping has never taken the edge off like a smoke. It has done enough and the rest I just have plowed through.

I have to admit that I enjoyed smoking too but my motivation was the harm of 2nd hand smoke on my husband. He has MS and when I found out how badly it affected him, that was enough for me to leave the cigarettes completely. I can't speak for the future but so far, I don't have any desire to return to cigarettes. I keep 24mg of nicotine if I need an extra boost. For me it satisfies that craving.

Same.. Armageddon day will be 6 months free from the cigs. I think that is what the Mayans had in mind when they were making their calendar. The world will end because blue will have been smoke free for 6 months. :)

I made it this far... I still crave them but ya know.. I am feeling better. I still can't taste anything and trying to reduce the stress at work, but I don;t think that will ever end unless I hire someone to do some of my jobs. The owner won't budge on hiring someone and I won't give up my pay for someone soooooo. Oh well it is work.

The good thing I got a few bonuses lately so the wife said i can spring for new gear. I am a cheapskate though.:)

Nice job bluecat. I hear you about work stress and not tasting stuff. Not being able to taste and smell was one of the reasons that caused me to quit. I'm at 4 months and still really can't taste or smell. So far the doc things it might be allergies.

Yeah I have bad allergies too. Here in cinci it is bonkers with allergies. When I have my no taste or blah everything, I break out my high menthol liquid.

At close to six months the tastes are somewhat comming back.

I still smoke a cigar every once in a while. I used to have one every night. Great tobacco shop used to be next to work downtown.

You day they will pop back. The ce3s helped.

It's hard to explain. I guess part of it is the way vaping doesn't take the "edge" off the way a smoke does sometimes. I don't smoke American cigarettes. I order them from over seas. They have a very different taste. Not so much chemical burn or something. The second hand still stinks of course lol But sometimes in a stressful situation, the vape just does not deliver the nic fast enough to get me to the calm state that is needed to keep from chewing someone's head off.

Part of it is the sitting outside and having a private conversation with my Sister or Husband. If I'm not smoking, the kids feel like they are welcome to come and interupt lol.

I guess I really just don't know why I have so little desire to completely quit. I realize I SHOULD have that desire and I SHOULD quit. But I also know that without the desire, it ain't gonna happen.

How many therapists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Only one, but the lightbulb has to WANT to change. :p

Cglassford you're right, I vaped and smoked at the same time for a year. Then one day I lite the last cig in a pack with a dying lighter and said I'm done. I vape 12mg nic as my adv, but I've noticed I'm still fidgety sometimes. When that happens I take a few draws off of something with a high nic level. This has made a big difference for me.

That's why I will always keep 24mg around. It makes the difference for me too.

LOL I vape nearly 5mls of 32mg juice every day. Not sure that the nic level has much to do with my craving a smoke. But that's me.

Now you have ME intrigued about the cigs that you smoke

I smoked American cigs. Started with B&H menthol lights which I enjoyed for 30+ years but became too expensive, almost $9/pk. Then I switched to Newports, $7/pk but they were just plain nasty. May have been the reason I gladly gave them up for vaping. ;)

No trouble sleeping. I was having a bit of an anxiety problem last year. But that turned out to be a abnormal heart beat that was scaring the bejesus out of me. lol BP meds have that under control. :p

Of course I will be bringing the nic level down bit by bit. My cardiologist is thrilled about the cigs being cut back, but not happy about the nic - of course, because that is the part that's bad for the heart - but he does understand the addiction and that it is close to impossible to go cold turkey.
