I tried some more DIY juice tonight. Actually got one (apple from perfumers apprentice) that actually tasted pretty okay! For some reason my atties are making everything taste like crud tho. I have a joye ego T with LR atties and have been using Boge cartos a lot more lately than those atties. Dont know what the problem is. Not a burned taste, just kinda yuck. Any ideas?? I even tried blowing them both out, dripping with only pg/vg mix and vaping on that to try to get the flavor out.

I rinse mine out in PGA. I too am trying to make a decent vape so I make it and test it in a drip tip. Saves my cartos....

Maybe you need to clean them? There's a post on here somewhere about cleaning atties by washing them out and dry burning, rinsing then dry burning again. It's the method that I use. Let me see if I can remember where it was...Here it is!

You may have some burnt wicks, that is why I only use cartos anymore..

you can try cleaning your atty using this method shown in the video E-Cigarette Atomizer Maintenance - YouTube

if some of the wick is really burnt as mentioned by wendallb, you may want to remove the cover of your atty and remove all the wick. that is what I do for my 510 atties.

I was having lots of problems with my Cinnamon, which is all I've vaped since I started. All this last week I been vaping DIY Znic, NFA. (Zero nic, No Flavor Added). Recipe is 45PG/45VG/10PGA. I'm not missing the nic at all. Vapin is really going to be cheap now. JMHO

Yay! The TPA Green Apple is a great flavor, and I use it in lots of things. I have found that at 5% or so it gives a good flavor, and that it is enhanced by something to take the edge off, like a drop of some sort of tobacco, a drop or two of menthol, wintergreen or something of that sort.

Thank you all so much! I am gonna have to get brave and try washing those atties i guess. Ive been scared to do it cuz I only have 2 LRs and i dont wanna mess em up but they are definitely not working like they used to. BrittanyNI--i put in a couple drops of cotton candy for extra sweet and i had considered putting koolada or peppermint or something in there because i like that feeling but i wasnt sure it would be very good! I may have to try!

YAY DOT!!! you are getting it,slowly but surely..Like ME..If you can use a syringe and use 90%isopropyl alcohol from the store.I use everclear as it is 190 proof,but I dont think you guys can get that in washington state..???I like it because it totally evaporates..I think 100 proof vodka would work as well..

I use 91% IPA for washing cartos and atomizers but I'd rinse it out really well as you really don't wanna be vaping isopropyl alcohol. I can't get PGA in Michigan but have a fifth the wife brought me from out of state, so since I'd have to drive about 80 miles to get another one I use PGA for mixing and IPA for cleaning.

Now if I'm just rinsing an atty to get the flavor out of it I'll use Everclear, blow it out and then fire it but for serious cleaning I use 91% IPA, let it soak overnight, rinse really, really well with hot water then stick it in a 200° oven for about three hours.

Wow, so many great ideas. I was gonna go to the liquor store and try to find high proof vodka -- seems like it would work for quite a few things, and if it doesnt work ill just get loaded hahahaahahaha (just kidding, allergic to alcohol sadly and cannot drink).

Congrats on the success! TPA Apple has become one of my favorite go-to flavors. It really mixes well with tobaccos too IMO. I'll second (or third) the advice about flushing/soaking your atty really well. I use Isopropyl Alcohol -IPA- most of the time for cleaning and finish with a good flushing with water to remove any traces of alcohol due to your allergy. Dry it out with compressed air and/or in the oven as described above. If that doesn't remove the cruddy taste, you may need a new atty.

Everclear does make a 151 proof version you can buy in Washington - another option would be 160 proof Devil's Springs vodka but I don't know if you can get it there.

I tested green apple yesterday by itself, I like that one too. Nice flavor.

IDK if you would be interested but I use this little thing to help me clean atty's. I love it. I use hot distilled water, alcohol, then another rinse with hot DW. Works like a charm. HTH.

Chevelle, i dont think im allergic to isopropyl, just drinking alcohol -- and thanks for the tips! Wizard, thanks for the info, i will look for that. Rkayw -- wow, thats a new one on me! i have never seen that before! That is very cool!

I have used it to clean carto's on occasion as well. I don't do that as a general rule, but if I am getting low and can't order new carto's, I have.

That tool keeps my hands out of the hot distilled water and alcohol, and my lips don't have to touch my atty until they are completely cleaned and rinsed. (91% IPA does not taste good. Don't ask how I know. lol.) Then I blow them out into a paper towel, and let dry overnight. They are ready to use again the next morning.

Ya got some great directions in cleaning your atties. That's what ya need.

If ya can $wing it, on your next equipment order get a 306 atty for dripping. I held off for quite a while and wish I hadn't. They're great for sampling flavs.

Iffy, whats the diff between a 306 and a regular 510 atty or the atomizer that comes with the tank?

If I remember correctly, the 306 has the coil above the 'base plate' (exposed) which others claim gives a better drip.

I have both and prefer the 306. It also has the same thread as the 510.
