I know everyone has different tastes, but, i am still curious as to how much sweetner is generally used.??
I usually add 10 drops to most 3ml. fruit recipes .
then I also add some cotton candy flavor to smooth it out.
In some cases the mix smells harsh, so i add some more vg liquid, then it tastes like well, crap.............
i've tried just sweetener and then just cc flavor.
I just can not get a sastisfying mixture.
any suggestions would be more than appreciated.
FYI: I have used the diy calculator's, sometimes it comes out great and then again, you get the point.

then
what has anyone used as sweetener????
as of my last batch of peach juice (yuck) i used a sweetener by Perfumers apprentice.
Is there an alternative, like maybe splenda melted down in vg???
it is sucralose just like the liquid I have been getting.

any help would be again appreciated, whether it's addressing these questions or any ideas!!!!!
thanks

A great sweetener is an Ethyl Maltol mixture. It is a sugar substitute mixed with everclear.
The powder can be purchased here: Ethyl Maltol - One Stop DIY Shop Store
Some say it is similar to cotton candy flavor.
But properly diluted EM will give more throat hit than plain cotton candy.
Properly mixed EM will sweeten juices with only 2 drops per 6ml of juice.
Adding too much will drastically reduce the flavor of the juice.

I am really new to the DIY scene bit have found this much out. Start with your pg/vg mix with no nicotine and go small~3ml in a 6ml bottle for room. And your flavor 1 drop at a time. Vape on clean attys and full batts, vape it near dry then tweak. Add the nic when you have the flavor, tweak a bit more if needed. Some stuff also needs to steep a bit to get the best flavor. A sweet apple I made needed to sit with the bottle open for 2 days and now makes a great little desert vape. Needs some cinnamon to set it off though. Seems to me that coffees also need some time. And for the sweetener, EM is the way to go and go easy. For the above process try 1/2 drop. Patience is also needed. Good luck!

I thot the ethyl-maltol was the same as the cotton candy, as far as a sweetener...
i have only started DIY, out of frustration with juices not being tasty or flavorful enuff for my old taste buds!!! and i have bought alllllll these flavorings and I'm feeling a lil overwhelmed, lolol!!!
I like the throat hit, so next order i may have to get the EM
thanks!!!

If I add the nic after I feel I have the flavor i want, won't that weaken the flavor???
I use glass bowls like the cooks on tv use with all the food already chopped up. I go by drops and then by smell, if i can't smell the "peach" I add more.
What do you mean by "steep" r u heating up the juice???
I really have found that if it didnt taste good when I mixed it, it isn't gonna taste good the next or any other day, I have wasted a lot of juice throwing it away.
you think I should give it a lil time?????

Cotton Candy is Ethyl Maltol in PG at 10%, it cannot be any higher because the pg wont dilute it more. If you use Ethyl Maltol with PGA you can dilute it to a much higher ratio then 10%. Hope that helps explain things :)

If you let your mixture sit a day or two the flavors often will be more prominent then when first mixed, imagine its like making chili.. the flavors infuse as it simmers, with the juice you make time is your simmering.
