Okay, I’m sorry if this question has been asked ad nauseam, but I need some help in choosing the first coil I build in my new IGO-L. I need to stay above 1.5 ohms because I’m using APVs (eVic, MVP 2.0, VV V3).

This is my first true rebuildable, although I have rebuilt at least 60 Kanger coils for my EVOD and ProTanks. I have an ohms meter, 100’ each of 28 awg, 30 awg and 32 awg, and a lifetime supply of boiled “Peaches & Cream” cotton yarn. I could acquire some organic cotton balls if that is a better way to go.

I really have no idea of where to start, so any advice, links to vids (RipTrippers maybe?), and links to other threads would be greatly appreciated. I just really want to get into the world of RDAs because I want to experience more flavor from my juice.

Like I stated I have some experience wrapping coils as I've rebuilt a ton of Kanger heads, but that was as simple as wrapping 32 gauge wire around a toothpick and threading some yarn through the coil with a needle threader.

I'd start with something basic - go with a 1/16th inch microcoil with a little cotton threaded through it and tucked underneath. That works great for me. I'm using 30 awg, about 8 wraps or so, and come in around 1.8ohms.

The air intake is really important with the Igo style. You want to get the coil as close to the hole as possible and make sure they're directly lined up.

If you've been rebuilding clearo heads, this should be a breeze. You've got a lot more space to work with in the Igo.

Take a look at the links in the first post of this thread for some good pictures of a similar type atty. Also, a thread search for igo l should get you some more info and pictures.

I recommend starting with the 30 gauge, but you'll want to try them all. Differences are slight but real and you'll have to find what works best for you. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome to ecf and to dripping. I started out with the little igo-L and fell in love with dripping. The flavors are just fantastic. There are some great YouTubes on this little dripper and I have been using the pre made coils from Fasttech on my drippers because they are so easy to use and I have had wonderful results. I like a cooler vape so I usually go for the 1.8Ω. At FT you can get 50 coils/wicks for around $3. And they are nice. Good luck to you and happy vaping.

I'm pretty sure these are the ones I used. Good luck to ya. http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10007181/1591604-pre-made-wires-and-wicks-for-atomizer-50-pack

So I literally just build my first RDA coil on an IGO-L the day before yesterday. Lots of experience with rebuilding Protank coils, but this was my first "real" rebuild and totally new to me and I was terrified....and it was stupid easy. Microcoils have been calling my name so that was the build I went with. 28g kanthal on a 5/64", I think it was an 11/12 wrap that came out to 1.4 ohms (works great on my MVP2), and it's lovely. Don't be scared, just do it. If you're insane like me you'll test the coil on 3 different devices about 10 times each before firing, and you'll be fine. It totally won't explode and kill everyone. Look up Youtube vids of RBAs in general, I've found looking at as many possible gives you a better idea of what to do than searching for IGO vids alone.

I just reccived an Igo-L in the mail today myself.

The air hole is drilled to 1/16".

I built a single, 1.5 ohm, 28 gauge microcoil for it and have it on my SID.

Wicked it with cotton, set the SID to 15 watts.

I like it a lot.

My usual dripping atty is a Nimbus clone with dual 30 gauge coils (.7 ohms) on a M16 clone.

Flavor and vapor production is pretty dang good from the Igo. Really good actually. Yeah the sub ohm setup hits harder, heats up faster, makes more vapor. But, the single coil Igo makes great flavor and defiantly has a respectable vapor output.

Good little dripper. Really like that it works this well with a regulated mod friendly build. Happy!

For me i love the igo-l i have had it for almost a year and i also rock it on the sid, i like my coils to be between 1.3 & 1.7ohm's at 5v so i use 2mm silica doubled and 4-6 wraps of 32g easy peesey to build and rocks out at 5v. Just something to think about, also at pbdragon.com you can get 40 feet of wick and 50 feet of kanthal for $20 + shipping and that will last about 6 months....
