We have never compared ourselves to other more expensive mods...we are a cheaper alternative for those who choose not to spend a lot of money on a mod.

I am Hurt to see some of the comments made in the Reo mod forum by some of my customers who seemed so happy to get there mod and expressed that in my forum.

I know it is only a few and there are a lot more happy customers and I have to remember this.

Thanks for your support and I hope to continue making mods.

Ron Old Goat :(

Almost 2 weeks since I rec'd my 3.7v bottom feeder. I'm loving it. After fiddling for about a week, it's not leaking anymore. I guess it does take some time to learn. Only thing I dun really like is that the mod seems to feel sticky sometimes. But nothing is leaking, I chk the inside and it's fine. I'm still loving it for the great price. I wouldn't had the opportunity to try a bottom feeder if it wasn't for the great price. I might save up in the future, to buy a more expensive bottom feeder mod but if it wasn't for this bottom feeder I would had never dish out that much money to try something that I never had experience with.

This is really a great bottom feeder for a reasonable price!

Thanks oldgoat

I feel bad for Old Goat as this issue has gotten out of control. Glad to see this post Rosco. You and grammakitty were spot on with your latest comments there. I posted there before this all got blown out of proportion encouraging (him) people to voice their problems so all of us can make informed choices based on other's experiences with vendor's customer service, quality of product, as well as our own needs. After I reread my post there I realized it could be taken wrongly against the Old Goat's mod so I edited it for clarification. It wasn't these mods or old goat's customer service I was trying to address but about voicing complaints in general.

Sorry Ron if you read MY post and took it as a slam - that WAS NOT MY INTENT. It is hard to get meaning across in the written form. So let me clarify here as well: My bottom feeder works as it should and as I've said in other posts here I really like it and would encourage others who are looking for an entry level feeder for whatever reason to try this one. It has been around my neck on the lanyard since I got it.

You keep on making the mods Ron and we will continue to buy them! Don't let this incident discourage you.

Thank you nerak and sheryder. I appreciate and respect your most recent comments. It was very evident who said what and where. Now everyone knows too. I just could not sit back and allow such disgraceful comments to be made against a very good person who makes it possible for people to not spend lots of money and wait forever just to have a mod
. Heck, I know of a soldier in Kandahar that shares his OG mod with others. That is rugged duty and if this simple, inexpensive mod can handle that, it should be just fine for everyone else. Had some major meltdown as described been on ongoing issue, Old Goat wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. But since the opposite is true and there are MANY out there vaping great.
To jump from one thread to another and accuse is not how ECF members are to respond to issues. This should NEVER have started in the first place. But, it only takes 1 person and you saw what happened and how many jump on his wagon to accuse too.
It was embarrassing and disrespectful, but hey, it just proves we have a "cut of the world" for ECF membership.

Roscoe, after reading your latest post I went back and read all the posts in the other thread. Since there were very few who are also on this forum I realize that my post WAS being misinterpreted. Knowing this I am doubly glad I clarified both here and in the other thread. It would be a great disservice to Ron had others read it the same way and taken their business elsewhere. Again my apologies to readers and especially to Ron/Old Goat for not being more clear in my posts.

Note to sad self: stop posting on forum-enter lurking mode.

If high drain batteries are going to be "use at your own risk".. Any mod made that uses the protected TF / UF 900mAh 14500 battery, with low resistance attys need the same disclaimer. Those batteries simply do not produce enough amps to run the LR atty at the amperage demanded. In turn, the protected batteries are constantly stressed, and actually present much more risk than using an AW IMR 14500.

Here is a post made by one of, if not the most expert ECF members on the subject:

the mAh ratings will be lower...but look at it like this ...if they hit harder you'll be holding the button down for a shorter period of time so you're not going to notice it...

heres a theoretical example...
let's say you're using a LR atty on a 14500 battery so that's 3.7V..

now a 1.5Ω LR atty at 3.7V is about 2.47A as far as amp draw goes..

now lets compare a Ultrafire 900mAh 14500..
that battery has a max drain rate of ...1.3A (so it's overstressed...you're gonna loose charge cycles and it's not going to hit as hard)

but on a brand new one best case senario you're looking at roughly:
1313 seconds of continuous runtime or about 262 (average of 5second long) button presses
*and this is going to drop the more you use that battery because of the overstress as it looses it's ability to take and maintain a charge

now lets say the new AW IMR 14500 high drain...yes it's only 600mAh...
that battery has a max drain rate of 4A..that far exceeds the 2.47A draw of your atty at 3.7V..so it's not going to be overstressed and it's going to hit harder (thus you'll have shorter button presses to get the same amount of vapor)
so in that senario you're looking at roughly:
873 seconds continuous or 291 (average of 3second long) button presses

* just so you know what math I did to get the #s I did:

you take the amp draw in mA and divide by the mAh rating of the battery to get the C rate (rate of discharge)...and divide 60 minutes by that C rating to get continuous minutes in the battery (*60 for seconds) and divide that by length of your average button press for the # of button presses

likewise the max drain rate of the battery is the mAh rating of the battery times the C rating then divided by 1000....and 60 minutes divided by that same C rate
(c rate is given my the manufacturers, but the *fire brands are 1.5C, Li-Ion AW is 2C, the AW IMRs are all different by size (14500=4A, 16340=8C, 18650=10C)...otherwise C rate defaults to 1C)

and amp draw is voltage (of battery) divided by resistance (of atty or carto)

And if that is not adequate info, here is a quote from another forum made by Cisco, who's is most certainly an expert opinion:

It is true that a decent Li-ion (in the larger sizes) will output enough current to run any e-cig properly. IMR's will output more consistent current across the discharge cycle, Li-ion tend to drop off faster then IMR's, the reason the first 10-20% of the discharge cycle on a Li-ion is hotter then the remainder. If your boosting and or regulating you wont notice a drop off in output, so with an IMR you will sacrifice vape time over a Li-ion, for that configuration Li-ion will serve you best.

Personally I prefer IMR's because of the safety factor that Li-ion do not have, I am willing to sacrifice vape time for added safety and consistent unregulated current output. IMR's are a safer chemistry in the fact that if they vent, they only vent with gas not with gas/flames, IMR's do not require protection circuits and are designed to be the safer alternative in stacked battery configurations similar to LifePo4 ( true LifePo4 Chemistry is 3.2v nominal, LifePo4 do not come in 3.7v, it is a chemistry limitation. If you see a LifePo4 advertised as a 3.7v cell, its more then likely LiPo chemistry)

I just wanted to let folks know how much I like my Old Goat mod. I ordered a blue carbon fiber with blue LED. It turned out very nice. It has understated sparklies that just don't show well in the photos. The sparklies are the lighter areas. I didn't take a pic of the other side, but the pearl looks really nice with the blue.

I received it on Wednesday and have been using it exclusively for the last couple days. I find it works wonderfully. I love the battery life, too, since I was using a standard 510 with long batteries and those just didn't last for me - especially when I feel like chain vaping.

The feeder works nicely. There was a bit of trial and error as I flooded my atomizer a couple times. But, I've had no drips or leaks from it. I also use the mod for dripping when I don't want to swap out the feed bottle but want a quick flavor change.

I feel the mod is made well and it feels sturdy in my hand, not flimsy at all. I'm expecting it to hold up just fine. I have to say, I've really enjoyed vaping the last couple days with it.

Thanks, Old Goat for an affordable bottom feeder that looks nice. I appreciate it.

I'm not sure what color of blue this is, but I really like it.
All I have are black drip tips, but looks like I need to get some colored ones cuz they really look good on this mod. Even tho I rarely drip anymore, I use these tips all the time just to give me some distance from the carto and it's easier to pull it off verses taking out that white plug to fill all the time.

Good Morning Vapers Everywhere! This shape of driptip is my favorite.I recently found a sale on the same shape in swirled colors for $1.49 each! I have seen the color ones for up to $6.00! I should get them in the mail today and anxious to see if they fit the same as the generic black delrins do. I also saw a new glass pyrex one but it is expensive to my standard ($14.99 each!) I am curious to see if any one has tryed them? I also saw a thread on tips someone has made out of wood! I've tried the silver color metal ones but after a short time I was getting a metallic taste and had to quit using them.I also ordered a couple of the colored aluminum ones to see if I still get a metallic taste. Comments ,opinions anyone on drip tips ?

Those swirled colored ones are nice looking. I have mixed feeling about my 2 pyrex drip tips. One is a clear tapered tip and the other is a cobalt blue tapered one. Had to send the first order back because they just would not fit. Each of these are made individually, so they will never be the same each time. Next order was a bit better, but the o-rings were too big I went to Lowes and got several #47 O-rings and that was what was needed. Having said that, I still am somewhat unhappy. The length of these from the O-ring on is just too short. There is very little to actually fit 'inside" the atty/carto's. On my clear on, if I just bump it a little, I can knock it out. In fact, dang near lost it cuz it fell off and I didn't know it. I usually have my Buzz on a lanyard around my neck and it just got bumped I guess and off the tip it went. I was in the house, so I was lucky to find it.

But for $15 each, they should fit PERFECT and the 4 I have dealt with do not.

Hey y'all, I just sent a PM to Oldgoat, but I got the server busy message when I sent it, so I'm not sure if it got sent to him. I'm hoping it did.
Well, I was just standing starring at my mod that I got from Oldgoat, wishing that it worked, I have never used anything bigger then my ego before, well I got the battery out of it's holder, put it in the mod, it rattles around in it, not a good fit. Well I started flipping the switch on the bottom, from off to on, and the battery is rattling around in the mod. I'm starring at the little green led that came on when I first got it and put the battery in and turned the mod on, and the battery rattled into just the right spot, and the little green light came on. I pushed the button on the side, and the color changing led came on, I switched it back off got the battery and wrapped it in toilet paper so it fit snug in the mod, turned it back on, and the green light came on. I put the same carto in it and pushed the button and took one he'll of a VAPE off of it. Those aw imr 18650 hit like a horse in this mod.
So it turns out the battery never fit in the mod, I think that five minutes of troubleshooting from someone that knew more then I did might have solved the problem.
This thing got out of hand, that's why I quit posting when I did.
Well I guess that's about it.
Y'all ought to try these batteries though! This thing hits like a horse!

Somewhere in time.
Well, I just came in to say-my daughter ordered me a bottom feeder for my vaping anniversary, when all I had wanted was a pretty box mod, and I'm in love. It has worked beautifully from the second I put batteries in it-and the SINGLE - yes, single - leak I had was my own darned fault.

I would recommend these from every rooftop if I could-

Hey Ron,
Just wanted to let you know I got my package yesterday and I'm thrilled with it. I love the colors. You were right. These colors do look good in Florida!! Very tropical looking. The bottom feeder is going to be a blessing for my sister. As I told you before she loses (misplaces) her e-cig all the time, so the lanyard is perfect. She's out of town for a few days so I am going to get to play with it for a few days before she comes home. I have to confess I took it to work with me today. It was awesome. I will order another one for me soon. Tomorrow, I'm taking the flashlight mod with me to work. I might use a carto on that one. I just love the fact that I can get up from my desk and not have to carry my mod with me everywhere. It's right there hanging around my neck. And again, I'd like to say that it is beautiful. Really nice colors. And I love the button. It's so easy to use. Another plus for my sister who has some issues with her hands. The button is effortless to push. I love it!!! And my sister will too. Thanks so much!!!
Tracey :)

Glad you got it and like it so much Tracey. One of the reasons I got more than 1 of them too. I gave 1 to a close buddy stationed in Kandahar who was wanting to quit smoking too. It worked, and now he has others wanting to join him in this new vaping thing. They LOVE the fact that they can "smoke"(as they still say) especially on duty at night without having to worry about the glow of the cigarette giving them away. I asked Ron to make my mods with no lights and stealth black. Works like a champ and has since before Christmas. I'm getting more and sending them over for his buddies.

The OldGoat mods do exactly what they are suppose to do. Vape like crazy.:thumb:

Congratulations on your choice. Bet your sister will love it.:)
