Thanks Rosco. Poor girl was in tears, I could not stand it. Her husband was not being supportive at all which was frustrating her even more (she was in tears at one point and he asked her if she wanted him to buy her a pack of analogs). She did not do her due diligence in research and ended up ordering different threaded devices that did not work together. She was so desperate that she was stopping at every kiosk and smoke shop she saw, trying to get that "perfect vape experience". I called her and told her that she just needed to get away from it looking and feeling like a cigerette and she agreed. She's a happy vaper now and I gave her links to reliable vendors that have the items that will work with Ron's mod. She wanted to repay me but I told her to just help the next person .. I think it will be her husband ....

Glad to hear a good ending. Poor thing. Sadly, it seems many women never get the proper or full support of their spouse and that just stinks. That should be the ONE person to get support from, even if they don't totally agree with an issue.

Who knows how many or who this girl can now offer help and advice to?
Ya done good Sylvia....ya done good. In might take awhile, but your reward will come.

Best of everything....:vapor:

Have a quick question about the 3ml bottles OG uses, dunno if there are different sizes (length wise) 3ml's out there, has anyone used the empty ones from Madvapes in any of OG's mods with success? QUOTE]

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I wonder about it also.

When I got my mod, Ron sent two bottles. I have not tried Mad Vapes bottles, but the bottles in the mod are the standard 3ml bottles that you get from many places. The only odd 3ml I've come across so far was the F'Art flavorings in a funky fat 3ml bottle. Almost any other should work - but again, I think you still receive two with your order. I haven't even attached my second one yet, and I've been using this non-stop for a month already.

The lanyard is no problem at all. It's a sturdy rope, maybe cotton or some other natural fiber. The connections are solid - no chance of breaking from normal use. In case of abuse, I'd still expect the atty to break well before the lanyard, which I suppose may not comfort those with a phobia of being strangled by a lanyard...(sorry, back in High School we had to wear IDs on a breakaway lanyard for that reason).

The LEDs are just for looks, mostly. They light when you activate the button, so you know when it's "on". I can't say from experience, but I suppose two AAs may work in a series on a 5v mod, but the voltage would be much lower - lower even than the standard 3.7v. AAs typically push 1.5v each, but I would imagine that would be cut down in this application (below a combined 3v), plus they wouldn't last very long at all. That's if they would work at all.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply Boris. I suspected AA batteries would be a poor substitute but by crisis I mean crisis. Such as rustic camping, camper battery drained, no vehicle to charge drained camper battery, backup vaping supplies in said missing vehicle, have some toys with AA batteries in camper...can get by until vehicle returns with my stash! You know...a REAL crisis!! Just wonder if they would fit okay and not cause any problem other than a real poor vape. Guess it makes more sense to stash some suitable supplies in camper as well as vehicle to better cover that scenario eh!

Also, the jewelry quality lanyard attachment was a concern. I do have grandkids who get tangled in my lanyards occasionally if I forget to hide it in my blouse before lifting said child.

Well, the size is not a problem as the 14500 is almost exactly the size of a AA. Maybe a LR atty would be better in such an emergency...I'd love to tell you whether it would work in such a scenario, but I'm not personally familiar with the circuitry in the 5v mods. Yes, the batteries are pretty inexpensive, so having a few spares handy is never a bad thing. I carry my old cigarette case with me. I used to roll my own, so I have a handy plastic case that fits a spare battery and two 6ml bottles of juice. Could easily carry three spare batteries or two spares and a 6ml bottle or some such combination. Such a case can be had from a tobacco store for a buck or two.

Again, as far as the lanyard, I'm not a fan of having my mod on my chest while my 3-year-old climbs all over me, but that's really just concern for the atty connection. For some reason, I fear excess pressure at the right point would snap that puppy off. So I'd be left with my atty-less box mod hanging around my neck and I'm not sure how I'd go about removing the broken atty. Bear in mind, that's just standard atty fear - there's nothing special about this mod that makes me feel that connection is sub-par; it's just a law of leverage and I have healthy concern for atty connections on all PVs. The lanyard itself is solid, and the point of connection is a lot stronger than it may look or sound. It's like it's manufactured as part of the box. He must screw, glue, and melt that thing in place or something because it's not budging.

First use impression - ahhhhh - I think I found my go to!:):)

First mistake - Not shutting it off before sticking it in my purse. Think the atty is good but the cartridge - not so much:

Note to self - on/off switch there for a reason.

Forgot to add - sent him email officially ordering it last Thursday afternoon, custom paint and all got it today. I was so excited I charged the batteries while I was at work. Don't have a cartridge now though so I have to wait until another atty I ordered comes in:(

WOOOOHOOOO! I ordered one just like this, laurae09, GREAT choice in color! I think green looks so friggin amazing. My first bottom feeder! I'd have to say I don't know what to do with myself at the moment to contain the excitement. HAPPY VAPING ALL!!!!!!!!

Nor you mine LOL! Did you get the fade also? At least we will make 1 easy run for Ron. He won't have to change paint for ours...

Acually I just asked for mine to be like the one on post 112...so AWESOME! And I don't have to wait on that other site once a month and PRAY and HOPE to get an online order in for a bottom feeder... :p Haha!

I'm patiently waiting for my own 5V box mod from Ron....I'm very excited!

I do have a question though, this being my first mod: as my brother (an electrician by trade) explained to me, if you double the voltage using two batts (bringing the voltage to 7.4V resisted down to 5V), you will end up with the same mAh rating (900mAh in this case with the AW's I ordered). So, I'm guessing I'll get about 6-8 hours of heavy vaping, right? I'm concerned about over discharging the batts...I assume the PCB circuitry will prevent such a thing, but will the mod just stop vaping when it happens, much like my eGo does?

Thanks for any answers...can't wait to join the MOD SQUAD!!

I'm getting annoyed with constant dripping and can't stand carts and cartomizers. I've been using the CE2 clearomizers for the last couple of weeks and I really like them but I get too rough I guess and make them come apart. I'm hoping the bottom feeder gives me the vape I need with the convenience I want so I can ditch the analogs for good.
