Worth reading. About levels of diacetyl and test methods. Dr. Farsalino's results mentioned.
Its about a week old. Its being discussed in the media forum.

It seems to be making the rounds.

If you want to discuss it, share your own thoughts.
Not really thoughts, but...

1. Article states that for-profit labs testing e-liquids are of inferior quality.
2. It shows that some small (at least some small) e-liquid manufacturers are putting a lot of diacetyl in their product, so that even 3 ml/day gives a lot more diacetyl that acceptable dose for workers. And what about 30 ml/day?

I read the article.

Is this just click bait or do you want to discuss it?

All this and more has been discussed in other threads. The article is more or less a recap of news of a dubious nature.
The only thing new I noticed was the snipe at the good Doctor F.

"Owners did not respond to repeated requests by the Journal Sentinel to visit the production space."

Gee.....wonder why. Wonder if that "clean room" they claim to have is perhaps a broom closet or storage / lounge room?

"The Journal Sentinel bought five e-liquids dubbed top-sellers by sales clerks at vape shops around Milwaukee — — and had them tested for diacetyl and 2,3-pentanedione.

The results: All five contained both chemicals. "

Wow. Sounds exactly like what happened to Dr F. when he tested all those eliquids. Over 70% contained stuff that vendors said wasn't in there.
However, THAT was way back in mid- 2014, right?
It's now almost the end of 2015.

Guess some things just never change.

Sort of an embarassment that other people, rather than the vendor producing the product, are having to do the testing.......then we wonder why the regulators are coming down on ecig industry. .

See, I DO care.

Mostly because of some of the unprofessional clowns in the industry have helped bring down negative press and regulation upon us.
I think I used the wrong words.. I meant that it's not an issue for me as the juice I order is diacetyl free. Of course I do care :)

(Gonna change my initial post)

I thought the same thing. This clean room thing is getting out of hand.

If the deeming proposal had anything to do with our health I would agree with you to a certain extent.
Testing will come with or with out the FDA and for all the wrong reasons. British Health Officials have
stated vaping is at minimum 95% safer than smoking. If diketones are in fact going to be as harmful in
juice as some believe they can cut that figure by 30% or more.

There was a report of two workers in a coffee roasting plant getting OB this year.
some where in Texas I believe.

Mike
Since this is a "Doom!" Article, I
Was pointing out the added coffee "DOOM!", Right below the e cig diketone "Doom!" Article.
;)
I bet you don't see any proposed bans on coffee. That would be one helluva call to action.
