Hi All,

If this is in the wrong forum, my apologies.

I started vaping around 7-8 years ago as a means to quit smoking. It did great. I went from being a non filtered cigarette full time smoker, to not having one in 7-8 years.

I learned what Mods I liked. Learned to make my own coils. Learned to make my own juices. From there I was set, and kinda stopped posting and reading. I was just “vaping”.

Years back there were studies done to prove vaping was bad, but most were refuted really well, and I still felt good about vaping. Even the more recent FDA “Still Blowing Smoke” adds seemed more like propaganda fear tactics, so I still felt good about vaping.

Fast forward to today, and a google search had endless pages on the harms of vaping, yet little to no retorts. Some seemed like very recent studies saying proof was found that it’s more harmful than anyone expected. It used to be pages of pro vaping studies and articles, but now it seems to be the exact opposite.

Keep in mind I’ve been out of the loop for a long while, but my question is: Is Vaping still considered safe?

Yes and still much safer then smokes. It's simply that more and more are vaping and big tobacco is trying it's hardest to make up bs.........how do you personally feel since vaping?

Big tobacco is behind most of the scare mongering. The way I see it...vaping isn't ideal but my body tells me its way better than smoking. Best ofcourse is to not vape nor smoke.
Its well known and accepted that vaping is at least 95% better than smoking.
Now, we must also remember... the anti vape "movement" are concentrating on the small things that make up the 5%. That, is all they have...They blow that up, and try their hardest to find something in there, so as to get our minds off the 95%.
I'm at peace. If in future something within that 5% is found, I can live with that. I know it'll be minor, compared what we know about smoking.

The best studies are coming from the UK. I'm unable to post any links at the moment, but if you click the link below for my blog, then click on the Good Setups for Beginner Vapers, you can find a great video at the very end made by UK medical specialists declaring that vaping is 95% safer than smoklng ."ecigarette safety the facts explained".

I worry more about the "Raid" being poured into our air than the vape. I am quite convinced the vapor is so much safer. Not only safer than smoking, but certainly safer than the "Raid", if not completely safe in comparison.
I feel wonderful after nearing a decade of constant power vaping. I felt horrible and enslaved before. I could never have quit without it and I feel free. I will never stop. The more vapor and nicotine in me, the better. Trust your body more than propaganda being spewed.
In fact, the more they protest, it convinces me more of the harmlessness of it, or even the possible benefit.

Since 2010, I've vaped at 8W to 10W. All I ever wanted to do is replicate the smoke from a light cigarette, so that's a good range for me. If there's some sort of medical risk, it's not nearly as problematic as continuing to smoke.

The upside of vaping is that your lungs clear up from the condition they were in when you were smoking. You can breath better and your lung Xrays will clear up quickly as long as there's no progressive damage from prior smoking. Your sense of smell will return and your ability to exercise without wheezing will re-appear as you get farther from your last smoke.

In the last ten years or so there's been many attempts at finding a way to condemn vaping as being as bad or worse than smoking. None have successfully found the smoking gun. If ANTZ can't find it I feel confident that it's relatively safe, but that's just my opinion and the opinion of my doctor. He just asks if I'm still vaping and not smoking. He's happy with my response and continues on down the list of other medical checkup items.

Articles we read that are negative on vaping almost always include toxic metals poisoning. The article below covers the same data whether you smoke, vape, or do neither.

Heavy Metal Poisoning: The Effects of Toxic Metals

You have to read between the lines to get the truth and sometimes (often) the articles that are negative to vaping don't mention that we breathe the same toxic metals whether we vape or not. Most of those come from car exhausts, factories, and other product we use. Everyone breathes in toxic metals, not just vapers.

It's interesting that the article talks about all the sources of toxic metals that appear in our blood work, but doesn't mention vaping.

There's a difference between a 'study' funded by lobbyists and the tobacco industry and a scientific 'study'.

Here's what Canada has to say:

If you are a smoker: vaping vs smoking
Vaping is less harmful than smoking. Many of the toxic and cancer-causing chemicals in tobacco and the tobacco smoke form when tobacco is burned.Footnote2 Footnote3Footnote4

Vaping products do not contain tobacco and do not involve burning or produce smoke. Except for nicotine, vaping products typically only contain a fraction of the 7,000 chemicals found in tobacco or tobacco smoke, and at lower levels.

Switching from tobacco cigarettes to vaping products will reduce a person's exposure to many toxic and cancer-causing chemicals.Footnote5

As a step towards quitting cigarettes, many smokers may go through a transition period when they use both cigarettes and vaping products. Studies have shown short-term general health improvements in those who have completely switched from smoking cigarettes to vaping products.Footnote6

Vaping - Canada.ca

The NHS in the UK is known to be pro vaping, at least over smoking, as well.

Here's a report (older, from 2016 -- the gov now has an official position on vaping which is posted above):

And a doc:

Thank you everyone for the replies and knowledge. makes me feel a whole lot better knowing these things I have been finding are, more than likely, fear mongering.

Google is EXTREMELY good at aiding and promoting fear mongering!!:glare:

Here's what Canada has to say:

That's an indicator that Canada isn't addicted to cigarette taxes like the U.S. seems to be. That, and they realize that vaping produces a much lower financial hit than smoking to the national healthcare plan Canada has. The U.S. would change its tune if we could pass national healthcare plans. They'd see the light. Vaping could be a welcome alternative to smoking. Vaping doesn't have serious health issues like smoking. We'd be the preferred form of nicotine consumption.
